  • "The property itself is lovely, well worth the price we paid."

We loved the balcony, the views the sofas and beds were comfortable and everything was clean when we arrived. There are just some little niggles that stopped it from feeling premium. They are all pretty simple to solve but would make a big difference to the user and I can’t think of anywhere I’ve stayed where I felt these things were lacking, expensive or cheap. They would elevate the experience, certainly. None of the bathrooms had a toilet roll holder. In the en-suite, there is not a single surface to put your glasses, rings, toiletries, there’s no towel rail either. The hook behind the door is okay for a bathrobe or some clothes but I find that towels don’t dry properly if they’re put on a hook. In the main bedroom with the en-suite, there are no plug sockets near to mirrors for hair straighteners/hairdryer, unless they were behind the furniture maybe? Perhaps an extension cable to allow guests to see the plug sockets and utilise the mirrors more. The living room area could do with a lamp or two. We found the downlighters too harsh for the late evening and would have liked an option of more ambient lighting. The washing machine was a bit quirky. On a cotton wash it was still going after 6 hours and hadn’t got in to the rinse cycle yet. I had to end the programme, then run rinse and spin separately. I tried a couple of other settings but ended up doing the same thing. Perhaps there’s a setting I’m not aware of? If so, some instructions nearby would be helpful. Overall, we had a lovely time in beautiful St Ives. Thank you.

Thank you for your review and glad you thought the property was lovely. Just to say each bathroom has a freestanding toilet roll holder. We supply 2 toilet rolls per toilet on the freestanding holder. I note your comment on the ensuite lack of shelves. We will address this. We put in 3 portable mirrors, one in each bedroom to allow you to dry your hair closer to an electric point. Each bedroom is different, and 2 wardrobes have mirrors, plus the portable ones. Sorry these didn't work for you. The lighting in the kitchen/lounge. The kitchen has spotlights in the ceiling and are bright. The hanging ceiling lights in the lounge area are dimmable. The switch is on the wall beside the blinds and is visible. Just turn them up or down. But yes I agree that the kitchen is bright. Not sure about the washing machine. I need to test it. Thank you for staying and pleased you enjoyed your stay. Liz Property Owner

  • "We greatly enjoyed our stay at Lanyon and the property was lovely."

Only feedback would be the same as we experienced last year, the washing machine worked intermittently and the sofas are not comfortable. We had to bring in chairs from the balcony also as it was a squeeze for all of us. That said we still very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Thank you for your review. Glad you like Lanyon. This is the first we have heard regarding the washer dryer. I wish you had called me while you were here. I could have seen exactly what the washer/dryer was doing. Then called an engineer. Sorry that our sofas are not comfortable for you. Sofa comfort is very specific to each person. Property Owner

  • "A very nice apartment."

Two minor issues . The wi fi downstairs in unreliable and I suggest a router is located there. Secondly, the water in the fridge leaks when filling up the holder .

Thank you for your review. This is a newly built property and so will be putting in boosters to boost the signal to the ground floor bedrooms. We put the router on the first floor in the lounge, as we believed the priority for the best signal was in the living area to the main lounge tv for its Neftflix account, and also .the entertaining area. We have added additional signal strength to downstairs bedrooms. Property Owner

Penzance 6 miles.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!
