Gwennel Neyth

We all had a wonderful stay at Gwennel Neyth, so much so we’ve booked again for next year!

The owners are lovely and friendly and the welcome gifts were lovely. Situated in a peaceful location but convenient to the A30 made this fantastic for a base to explore all that Cornwall has to offer! The accommodation is wonderful, spacious, very clean and was so well equipped with everything we needed! Our Grandson and dogs loved exploring the large garden too! For us (4 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs) it was perfect!

Fantastic accommodation in a quiet rural area.

Plenty of room for six to chill out amd relax in. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need for prepping food. Large smart tv with connected apps made viewing easier for everyone. Bathrooms amd bedrooms were also well equipped and light. Large garden to chill out in on a summers evening. If I had to look for any negatives they would be as follows Garden is not fully enclosed so need to keep an eye on pets. Mattress springs on beds were not the comfiest. Overall a fantastic place which we would recommend

The house was comfortable and clean, a lovely open plan space to spend time together with family, the mezzanine level was a great space.

The garden was a wonderful size. It’s in a quiet location, very peaceful. We would definitely come back.

This place made us feel like we are abroad! So kid friendly- they've thought of everything to make this a fantastic stay for the family. Property owners are so lovely and accommodating! 100% recommend!

Accomodation was wonderful, lovely and clean.

All the utensils you could ever need. Great size fridge/freezer. Every room was pristine. My family live in the area and after a recent bereavement I was able to connect with them throughout the week. I love Cornwall and would definately recommend and hope to re-visit soon. Thank you very much.

Spent first 2 hours cleaning.

Hairs and bits on all carpets, flooring, chairs. Dirty fridge, pans and utensils put away dirty. Cobwebs behind doors and windows. Upstairs bed had 2 big dips in it and was really uncomfortable. Main living room sofa smelt bad, previous dog guests? Programmed all the room stats, so they now work and the place was much cleaner when we left it. This property could be really good, but they would need or want to make some changes.

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the house which provided us with a lovely space for our family.

A few minor things made the stay less than perfect and were an annoyance and could be simply fixed. - No washing up liquid and only three dishwasher tablets for a weeks stay. This seems like a standard thing to supply especially as other cleaning equipment was left. - No salt and pepper in the salt and pepper mill. Again seems like a standard thing to supply. - Only two toilet rolls for a weeks stay. Again for the amount of money it cost to stay you’d expect a few more toilet rolls. - Only one key - this was inconvenient and also a worry as the door shut behind you. Ideally two keys would make a stay easier. None of these are major issues and easily fixed but just let down the property stay.

There is everything you could need in this stunning, modern, well presented, spotless house.

It made a great base for exploring Cornwall as nowhere was too far to drive and the ample parking meant both our children could drive over and join us. Would definitely stay there again!

Gorgeous house, spotlessly clean and in a great location.

Peaceful to come home to, while close to beaches in Newquay, Holywell and Perranporth. The beds were really comfortable as was the living room. Thank you for the delicious cake and wine! Very much appreciated.

There is no doubt that Gwennel neyth is a beautiful cottage, in an amazing area, perfect for any holiday.

The down side are the king size beds which are very uncomfortable. The one on the ground floor particularly so, there is more than one mattress protector covering the mattress which doesn't help at all. We had to use the quilts from the single beds as padding which helped a little. Such a shame when a memory foam mattress topper could well solve the problem. Don't expect the usual pint of milk and cake in fridge so you can make a quick cuppa after a long journey, there was none ☹️ apart from that, all was good.

We loved our stay at Gwennel Neyth.

The property is stunning and we didn't want to leave! Great location for exploring Cornwall and we literally have no negative feedback. We WILL be returning in the future.

The home was beautiful.

A bit more info on where the bins are would have helped for disposing of recycling and dog mess....but this did not distract from a brilliant holiday in a beautiful well thought out holiday home.

Newquay and Truro only a short drive away. Holiday home was amazing! Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Loved the spacious kitchen/dinning/living area. Would love to return in the future to explore more of Cornwall.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gwennel Neath, the living area was roomy and comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the mezzanine floor was so comfortable for some quiet time.

Just a couple of things, the beds and pillows felt cheap and were uncomfortable and the heating didnt keep the place very warm. We kept having to up the heat on the thermostats constantly. The small bedroom was set at 16c which was too cold for our daughter. Other than these minor things it’s a great place.

It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The location in beautiful, peaceful countryside with the A30 only a few minutes drive away was ideal. Most of the places we wanted to visit took no more than one hour to reach by car so it provided a perfect base for exploring all of Cornwall.

- [ ] Excellent, dog Friendly pub “The plume of feathers” in Mitchell servicing good beverages and excellent food. - [ ] A secure rear garden would be the icing on the cake at this property. - [ ] appreciate this is probably a holiday cottage company thing rather than property owner. I feel it’s a little cheeky to ask guest to “where appropriate” use the dishwasher on your last night and pack everything from the dishwasher away. All other holiday rentals ask you to put the dishwasher on when you leave as they appreciate guests are doing other things in the morning when trying to exit the property at the early departure time. * couldn’t find welcome pack but this may not be applicable due to only staying for 2 nights? * Couldn’t find an information pack about heating, cooker, dishwasher and other household bits and pieces in the property or on the app? Again maybe the way Sykes cottages operate?

Lovely property and very well maintained.

Could not fault the house at all; it was a great base for our stay. Not a criticism of the owners as it was my misunderstanding but was concerned as the garden wasn’t enclosed, worried the puppy would encroach on the main house !

Stunning property.

Great layout, well appointed and peaceful spot. Remote location allows you to unwind and disconnect, but within a couple of minutes drive is the A30 giving good access to Cornwall. Struggling to think of any negatives to the property. A cracking accommodation that the owners have clearly taken every effort to make very comfortable for all their guests. We’d definitely recommend and would visit again.

Beautiful house and wonderful stay.

House was spotless and inviting. Lovely garden area for the boys to run around and they particularly loved playing with the games on the bean bags. Perfect location into Newquay and we visited Mevagissey. Nice and quiet area also. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely stay with old friends, beautiful home ideal for what we wanted.

Only one thing personally for me was a mirror in twin room would have been useful. But thank you for the ease of booking arrival details and vacating.

First of all.

... WOW! The lovely owners have put their heart and soul into creating this stunning holiday home. From the front door, running through to the furthest point of the home - you'll find everything you need for a fantastic holiday stay. We stayed for a weeks stay, and we have returned back home spreading the word of how nice this place is. Lucy and Mike are genuinely nice owners.... and when a problem arises (as they do In all aspects of life) they deal with it In such accompanied haste. The beds = extremely good night sleep The underfloor heating (seperate thermostat to each room) = excellent as a family we all run at different temps. (Award winning design). Stylish wooden stair gates to bottom and top of stairs = have an inquisitive 2yr old this was a life saver. Showers = best rain fall showers. **JUST EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE = EXCELLENCE ☺️ if your after somewhere centrally located in cornwall that's a VERY SHORT drive away from shops... beach's... then this holiday home is perfect. Can't wait to return... well worth the near 6hr drive.

Beautiful warm, light and clean building, facilities were brilliant including fully equipped kitchen.

Loved the amount of options on the TV (Netflix/Amazon/ live TV etc) and especially loved the selection of board games upstairs! From a personal preference, it would have been made complete with the simple addition of basic kitchen items such as tea, coffee and sugar. The laundry was an issue as although a washer/dryer was available there was no washing powder/pods which I found unusual given that there was tablets for the dishwasher that was also available. I would also prefer to have more than one towel per person for a weeks stay, perhaps just in a cupboard for easy access when required. (These are all just suggestions based on experience from other stays that I’ve had). We loved our stay at this property, the dogs throughly enjoyed their stay too - the dog treat jar was a win for them!

No complaints.

The owners have built a really special cottage and in terms of facilities we had all we needed. Location is perfect if you're looking for remoteness but not completely isolated from conveniences. It is also ideally located if you wish to explore the north and south coast of Cornwall. Would certainly recommended to friends and family.
