Fantastic week away, The little hide away has absolutely everything you will need for a relaxing break, everything was super clean and tidy, very comfy furnishings, Very welcoming on arrival complete with little gifts that make it extra special, sitting on the decking in the morning with a Butty and a brew watching the countryside awaking up is one to remember, Thank you again, Meghann and Tom

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Pickle Barn, it is in a perfect location to visit anywhere in Cornwall."

The place was clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could need. The views from the terrace were beautiful and there was sun throughout the day. The property is in a peaceful location and we were able to lie in when needed (we are not morning people) which was amazing. Thank you Dave and Andrea!

Thank you for the lovely feedback Katie. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay, we tried to be extra quiet for you in the mornings :) Property Owner

On the down side water pressure in the kitchen was very low and the hot water in the bathroom sink was brown. However we fully enjoyed our stay.

Place was spotless and everything you needed for the stay was provided. Dave and Andrea were great hosts and the accommodation was beautiful including the grounds in which it was located. A great little place to stay for a couple Carole and Gerry stayed June/July for a week

  • "The cottage was spotlessly clean and there was a lovely cream tea awaiting our arrival, along with some small gifts."

The owners live onsite and are caring and helpful, but unobtrusive. There is parking directly outside and a wonderful private decked area to relax on, with beautiful views. The location is an excellent base for exploring the area. My husband walked 84 miles of the South West Coast path which is close by. I would note that the property may not be suitable for those with severe back problems, as there is restricted height in some areas, however, it gets 10/10 from us.

  • "The photographs do not indicate the small size of the flat."

Anyone over 4.5 foot tall will bang their head in the premises. The sloping ceilings reduce the effective size of the rooms. I am 6 foot and could not get close enough to the kitchen sink to wash up. To do this I needed to twist my body so my head fitted into the roof light well. The same situation exists in the WC. I had to sit on the toilet to pee because of the slope of the roof. The bathroom sloping ceiling means the shower is almost un-usable. the shower curtain does nothing to stop the water soaking the floor. There are no views from the premises via windows only roof lights. Good for me on tip toe but no good for my wife. There is no patio garden! there are 2 rusty chairs at the top of the stairs with not enough room to use them and some pot plants on the roof of the adjacent building. The alleged patio area is in shade and breezy in the evening. We felt uncomfortable because the flat overlooks the owners pool and hot tub. The owner uses the ground floor as a workshop and starts DIY at 08:00 which was a rude awakening at the time. All in all not up to the standard we have come to expect from your description and definitely not worth the money paid. We will not use this premises again and will look a lot more closely at your descriptions before booking. I suggest you send a representative along to check out the premises and experience it before writing another description.

  • "We enjoyed our visit to the Little Hideaway so much we had such a lovely holiday."

The flat was just as we expected, a little gem, comfortable, clean and bright. The owners left us scones, clotted cream, jam and fudge as a welcome, along with tea, coffee sugar and milk, very thoughtful. It is in a good location and so handy for other parts of Cornwall. We are looking forward to visiting again.

We had an excellent holiday and was welcomed with cream teas and a box of fudge. Everything one needed was within the property. The owners, Andrea and David were very friendly made us welcome. Upon leaving we were thanked for booking our holiday in the Little Hideaway. It couldn't be better and would highly recommend it for a holiday.

  • "What a gem Little Hideaway is."

Access is via several stairs so if you have mobility problems this isn’t the one for you which is a shame as it’s such a lovely apartment . The accommodation is bright airy and spotlessly clean , with an exceptional eye for detail . The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into what you might need . Nice touches like essential milk , tea , coffee , sugar and cleaning materials . The icing on the cake was a lovely handwritten note welcoming us and a delicious cream tea

  • "Andrea and Dave were perfect hosts, friendly and keen to meet our every need ."

The well appointed accommodation was exceptionally clean and the Cream Tea on our arrival was lovely. Little touches such ample tea, coffee as well as fresh milk were all very welcome. Bin bags, cleaning materials, tea towels, dish cloths, a scourer, foil and cling film in the kitchen and an iron, hairdryer and loo rolls all included were unusual and welcome extras. A great location on the edge of Quintrell Downs with a lovely view across fields towards the airport. Excellent reception on the television and fast Wi-fi. For an ideal Cornwall location in. A lovely apartment for two look no further than the Little Hideaway.

  • "The little hideaway was lovely, very clean and compact with all the expected facilities."

The only minor niggle, and it is minor, is that slightly more comfort in the sitting area of the kitchen diner would be good. The couch provided was adequate but not the most comfortable for long term evening relaxation of tv viewing .A pouffe to put ones feet up may have tipped the balance .However overall the accommodatione was very pleasing and we would definitely go again. The owners /hosts were very friendly and gave us a very warm welcome and were also very helpful beyond the call of duty during our stay.We would however recommend that they invest in a visitors book because I’m sure it would provide them with a history of pleasing comments. Our thank you to Andrea and David for a very pleasant week.

Everything you need is there with added touches like blankets on the sofa, range of dvd's & games. An amazing cream tea along with a handwritten card welcomed us & was so appreciated after the long drive. The Little Hideaway was central to lots of different attractions, as well as Newquay itself where we enjoyed the town & beach. We visited the Blue Reef, Bodmin & Wenford steam train as well as Bodmin Jail, Fistral beach which was chilly but with a hot chocolate in hand was relaxing. We have come home feeling relaxed & rejuvenated. Would highly recommend the Little Hideaway as a place to stay.

  • "Arrived as a guest, left as a friend."

A huge thank you to Andrea and Dave for making me so welcome and being so kind. The flat is incredibly clean and well-equipped, with thoughtfully provided tea, coffee, sugar and milk plus the bonus cream tea. Lots of homely touches and it feels so cosy. The location is excellent, with 3 pubs and a very handy Spar shop which is reasonably priced, just down the road. A taxi back from Newquay is only about £7.00 or there are buses to Truro, St Austell and Newquay, if you want to leave the car at home. Would highly recommend staying here. Thank you.
