  • "We had a lovely holiday at The Roost the cottage was very comfortable clean and well equipped."

The owners were very helpful regarding local information and very friendly. The Roost is very well situated for visiting all of western Cornwall including coastal areas and we would have no hesitation in recommending it

  • "Our second stay in The Roost and just as good as last year."

Ideal location; very quiet rural area with reasonable nearby access to Godrevy and Gwithian beaches, very comfortable (particularly needed this year when storm Betty thundered through!) and delightful and welcoming hosts; not forgetting Bobby, the Eurasian-eagle owl! Highly recommend and hoping to return next year.

Thank you! It’s our pleasure to host you.! Kind regards Belinda & Alan Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely relaxing week at The Roost."

Alan and Belinda were so friendly and welcoming and the fresh flowers and cream tea were a lovely surprise! The Roost is well placed to visit all of southern Cornwall and there was lots of useful info provided for places to visit and eating out. It was a nice comfortable base to return to after a day out and we enjoyed relaxing on the terrace in the evenings. We’ll definitely be back!

A beautiful little place to stay to unwind and destress. In a secluded spot but not far from places to visit. Belinda and Ian were delightful. Extremely friendly and very helpful. We learnt a lot about owls and lorikeets! Definitely recommend this delightful place to stay.

Lovely holiday cottage definitely 5*. On arrival a Cornish cream tea was waiting for us with beautiful roses and homemade jam. Our hosts were so nice and helpful. Belinda even presented us with a bottle of bubbly and a card for our 40th wedding anniversary. The cottage had everything and more you could wish for. Very comfortable and quiet. • "Always slightly pot luck when booking a holiday cottage."

Are the pictures current? Is it really a quiet spot? Is it a good base for exploring the area? In this case the answers are all yes. We visited the north and south coasts and Lands End easily and enjoyed our journeys. If you're not a National Trust member it may be worth joining especially if you enjoy visiting gardens. We were also happy that the owners were always available to answer questions but never knocking on the door, perfect. Finally if we were to visit the area again we would happily stay here again and thoroughly recommend The Roost to anyone looking to holiday in Cornwall.

Belinda even offered to do our washing for us as there is no washing machine facilities, our clothes were washed, dried and ironed and returned the next day. The family birds were also friendly calling out to you when they saw you. This Roost is highly recommended for a visit.
