  • "1. Beachcliff had a beautiful aspect over the sea."

    2. Well equipped bungalow 3. Some areas tired and musty smell due to dampness. 4. Vehicular access through the large gate was a tight squeeze for my VW Tiguan. Anyone with a longer car would not be able to drive through this gate due to the narrow street. I feel this should be pointed out when listing the property. Overall we had a lovely stay in a stunning location.

  • "The house was, on balance, delightful."

The location is superb with a panoramic sea view. Walking to the harbour, beach and Cakebreads was close, if a steep hill. The house had character and an interesting history. The worst issue is getting the car into and out of the garden with substantial solid gateposts only a few millimetres on each side of my car, which is only of medium size. They should come down with a recessed and wider opening and a proper surfaced parking area provided. Lynn and Geoff July 2024

Thank you for your feedback. We will ensure that guests are made aware that the short walk down to the village includes a steep hill. We note your comment about the relatively narrow entrance through the original gateway which is 2.64 metres wide and does require some alignment, particularly for larger cars; we will add a note to our guest information. We have also noted your suggestion regarding a parking area. Rob and Helen Property Owner

  • "We thought the cottage was utterly charming."

We’ve stayed at 8 different places in GH now as we go there every year. We've stayed in one place ( Trelawney) 3 times. We’ve stayed in places with much better facilities, places with dishwashers, laundry rooms with dryers, en-suites and places a with rooms to hang wetsuits, however despite theses things we will be returning to BeachCliff as nothing we’ve stayed in yet offers the charm, the veranda and the view . We were all very sad to leave.

Thank you for your nice comments. Our facilities are limited by the size of the cottage and by the wish to retain its character. Rob and Helen Property Owner

  • "Stunning location above Little Perhaver Beach, watching the tide come and go was an amazing experience, along with sound of the sea waves, washing onto the beach below."

Beachcliff was a very obviously loved property that the owners have stamped their own identity on. The coal and log fires were a lovely touch in the evenings, during the stormy nights, giving the property a lovely cosy warm feel. Immaculatly clean, with very comfortable beds adding to the relaxing stay. This lovely property grow on me day by day as week went on, meaning I I didn't want to leave... I will definitely be back in the near future,

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at our family cottage. It is a very special place and we hope you are able to return for another holiday before too long. Thank you again. Property Owner

  • "It would have been helpful to have some instructions for the cooker and microwave."

It took us ages to work out the microwave - maybe it was just us!! Beds and settees were very comfortable.

Thank you for your feedback. All the instructions for the kitchen appliances are in a small basket inside the meter cupboard to the right of the cooker. I will make sure this is written in the Beachcliff welcome pack. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Property Owner

About the location

GORRAN HAVEN

Mevagissey 3 miles.

Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach set behind a traditional sea wall, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide and is popular with families. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is readily accessible from the South West Coast Path that passes through Gorran Haven. Within walking distance are a number of more isolated beaches and the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck. From its gorse-covered heights there are views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east. Alternatively, you may wish to walk the coastal path to the harbour village of Mevagissey. Near Gorran Haven, in a beautiful setting of woodland, stream and pasture, is Caerhays Castle, an informal 60-acre garden on the coast near Porthluney Cove. Nearby attractions are the wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the cathedral town of Truro, with an excellent range of quality shopping and dining.

Please note the property sleeps a maximum of 6 guests including children and infants.
