  • "The cottage was very nice but very difficult to actually driving into the property."

. there is a spring running across the little lane and the hedges are overgrown and very bumpy…. Bedrooms …very little storage for your clothes double wardrobe in the main bedroom had a padlock on.. bedroom two little storage , had to keep the clothes in the suitcase..

Many thanks for your comments. We are so happy that you liked the cottage. In answer to your other comments, the spring is minor and even in the middle of Winter with heavy rainfall has never been a problem. Alternative access can be via the other end of the road to avoid the spring if desired. The country lane is typically Cornish in nature, but people carriers have been driven down it without a problem. Cars can also be parked at the end of the tarmac road a very short walk away if desired. The master bedroom has an oversized, wide chest of drawers as pictured, giving ample storage room for 2 people's clothes in that bedroom and there is plenty of hanging space with hooks on the back of the door, a further row of wooden hooks with coat hangers on the wall and a large coat stand with hangers on. The cupboard in the master bedroom, is as labelled, the caretaker's cupboard where it is necessary to store essential items needed for the cottage. The second bedroom has a row of hooks with coat hangers on the wall and pegs on the back of the door. There is also a hanging rail with hangers inside the fitted cupboard and ample space for clothes storage, but we're sorry if you felt this wasn't enough for your requirements. Property Owner

  • "Garden is dark and enjoyment would benefit from trees being pollarded."

Rubbish appears tiny to have been collected for several weeks. Rubbish was moved into the road but not collected. Property was cold on arrival. Would benefit from pasta bowls. But, great location for Bodmin moor, couple of great local pubs to eat at, Liskeard and shops not far way, beach at Seaton is wonderful. Would go back.

  • "We have just returned from two wonderful weeks in Tinners cottage with our little family."

This cottage is so cute and homely. The little touches made it a great stay. Dvds, games and books. Wifi was poor and only possible to check emails and not possible to watch anything online but we didn’t mind. The garden is beautiful and the fire made a great touch. The local pub in Minons serves good portions of nice food, the farm shop 5 mins away was very helpful and Inkies is a nice place for coffee and breakfast after a walk at the falls. The cottage is well placed for visits to Cornwall, including Eden, gardens of helligan, the beaches and walks on the moors. Thank you so much and we hope to return soon.

  • "Such a lovely pretty holiday cottage, and extremely cosy in the evening when the woodburner gets going."

We were there in 2020 October half term and experienced the wettest and windiest week of the autumn so far - Tinners Cottage is well located so we still found lots to do, visiting all the usual harbours and touristy attractions, including a trip to Lands End and St Michael's Mount. Please be aware that the bathroom is downstairs - not a problem for us, and at this time of year is on the cool side! Kitchen is well kitted out with everything we needed, fridge is a small under-the-counter size fridge (with an ice box) and we were able to use the front porch area to keep cool any surplus vegetables/fruit/eggs etc - we cooked quite a few family meals! If you prefer a plumper pillow for sleeping, you'd be advised to pack your favourite from home, as we did. Wifi worked well and the parking space is huge, enough for two cars easily, once you negotiate the narrow lane. There are ample board games, books and DVDs to keep all ages amused if there's nothing on the telly. The outside space is amazing, but due to the time of year, we couldn't make use of it all sadly. The cottage is located in a very peaceful location, no traffic noise and ideal if you want to just get away from it all!

Thank your for your wonderful review, we're glad you enjoyed staying at our cottage. Just to clarify, the fridge is a standard sized fridge that you will find in most holiday cottages of this size. The bathroom has a heated towel rail and also there is a highly efficient fan heater on the wall that gives instant heat for the very cold months in Winter when the bathroom can feel cooler. The plumpness of pillows is very much a matter of personal taste, but we will look at replacing some of them if needed, at the end of lockdown. As you suggest, if you have exacting requirements on this, best to take your own. Thanks again for your great review. Property Owner

  • "The mattresses were very uncomfortable the pillows need replacing as very flat."

The tv needs to possible b on a wall so everyone can c it. There was nit basic kitchen utensils available to use. We were very disappointed for value for money

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry to hear your views. We have had several previous comments saying that the beds are very comfortable. We acknowledge your comment regarding the positioning of the TV and will look at possible solutions at the end of the season, although as detailed, these are 200 year old stone walls so difficult to drill load bearing brackets into, hence the TV display unit. We have a large range of kitchen utensils available for use and have received comments that the cottage is well stocked. Property Owner

  • "Lovely holiday cottage in a quiet village location."

The cottage is very old, we visited in July in very warm weather and still found the cottage cold, especially the bathroom. The outside space is great but gets no sunlight due to the amount of trees.

  • "We arrived at Tinners Cottage in storm Dennis."

When we got inside it was a beautiful cottage and really cosy and warm when we lit the wood burner. It was well equipped and had everything we needed. There is plenty do do in the area and although it was very windy and rained a lot of the time we still managed to go out every day and really enjoyed our week.

Skies were so clear at night we could even see The Milky Way! Really nice garden (which our dog especially enjoyed) and large easy parking area right outside. We had a minor wifi issue on arrival, but Sykes and the owners went over and above to sort out really quickly with absolutely no problem whatsoever. Overall, the cottage, location and service are superb and would highly recommend a stay here if you want a peaceful break away. We will definitely be booking again.

We managed to muddle through between three adults but found we had to boil the kettle for washing up if one of us wanted a bath. That being said location was ideal. Beds very comfortable. Shower was lovely. Enclosed garden is brilliant for dogs.

  • "The cottage was very comfortable, every thing needed for a holiday was there."

From washing machine tablets to dish washer tablets. The only thing I missed was a radio, but the tv had radio channels. The beds were extremely comfortable, I was worried that there were no blankets in case of being cold at night but the quilts were warm. I could not fault the cottage at all. The garden was delightful, so quiet, no cars, no noise. Lovely walks for the dogs and near historic sights, shops and not forgetting Tragopan Mills. I would certainly book the cottage again, maybe later in the year or early next year. Please pass my thanks to all the staff and cleaners who made my stay so memorable. Kind regards Jane Lawrence
