  • "The house was lovely and clean and tidy when we arrived."

Main problem was it took 35 minutes to get the front door open. I contacted Sykes and a maintenance man arrived about an hour and half later by which time we had managed to get in. He agreed that there was a problem with the door as he couldn't open it either. This problem was intermittent during our stay. It is a shame that the problem with the door hasn't been dealt with as others have also had problems with it. The house itself we loved - it had everything we needed and everything was of a good quality.

  • "Perfect accommodation for a group, spacious and comfortable with two reception areas, and a kitchen area great for socialising while preparing meals."

All equipment in very good order and cleanliness excellent. No hot water once or twice in the morning but (after being unable to get hold of the agent) we managed to resolve by rebooting the boiler. Location excellent.

  • "The house is a beautiful stylish property in an idyllic setting with panoramic sea views and close to a range of amenities."

Upon entry to the property we found it to be extremely neat and tidy, very well equipped with high end fixtures, fittings and appliances. The outdoor seating, relaxation and barbecue kitchen area were equally impressive. The heat pump failed on two separate days, the day of arrival and day before departure leaving us with no hot water supply! The front door lock failed to open with us locked inside! Both issues were apparently recurring ones and were resolved within a day but not something you wish to happen on a 7 night stay. Could I suggest that Sykes/John Bray liaise with the owner and review the recent recurring problems with the heating system and the front door lock and resolve them.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by these issues. A heating engineer was booked over two weeks ago but unfortunately the earliest they could visit was later this week. The front door has already been looked at and no fault was found. The door does require a slight push on opening from the inside. We hope you still managed to enjoy your visit despite these issues and would love to welcome you back to North Cornwall in the future. • "Visiting 13 Sept - 20 Sept."

12 Tintagel terrace is a stunning property. The home is very spacious, modern and has beautiful decor. Has all amenities needed to enjoy any time of year. The appliances in the kitchen are all very high spec which took some time to understand, but easy to use once understood. The two separate media areas is a nice touch especially if going with a large party of people. The garden has all the amenities to enjoy the summer - BBQ, outside fridge, seating area for large parties, outside shower. Parking at the front of the house is large enough for 3 cars and the key safe was easy to find. The view from the front of the house are to die for. On a clear day you can see Tintagel Castle in the distance. In the bedrooms, the beds are extremely comfortable and have enough space in the bedrooms for all your luggage, cots etc. Scored 4/5 as on the first day we had no hot water to shower etc. Though 30mins from the original phone call, a very kind gentleman arrived and sorted the problem and was told due to the way the system worked would take a couple of hours to heat up. Also the oven door locked itself while the gentleman was here and helped us to open the door. The in-built coffee machine needed cleaning. There were cobwebs inside and outside the property - around the windows mostly. The two bedrooms with the single beds, could do with having beds which can link together to make double beds for adult parties. Overall, we would defiantly recommend this property. It’s absolutely stunning and is in a prime location to visit neighbouring towns etc.

Very happy to hear how happy you were with our Cornish holiday home. Apologies for the water problem but very glad to hear it was sorted quickly. We will get in touch with the cleaners regarding your comments about the coffee machine and cobwebs. Property Owner

  • "Overall the house was lovely and we had a wonderful time in the house."

My only criticism is that an entry time of 4pm and departure time of 9:30am seems unreasonable and could be made earlier/later respectively.

Thank you for your feedback and really happy to hear that you loved our Cornish holiday home. Unfortunately the house takes quite some time to clean to be ready for new guests, hence the arrival time and check out time, but we’ll see if there’s anything we can do on this with the rental company. • "Brilliant location, gorgeous views and 3 parking spaces!"

Plus the lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, which ensure that our family of 7 have plenty of space and no queues for the loo. This house has high end white goods and furniture, which really makes it feel like you’re staying in someone’s very comfortable second home, rather than your typical holiday let. We used the big BBQ this year and all the outdoor furniture, there are many cushions so be prepared to spend time getting them out of the storage and putting them back. As you could get caught out by early morning rain. Only things that would have improved our stay was a two-ended oven glove and more pasta bowls (only 4). Also clear instructions about recycling glass (we were missing the usual box for glass).

Thank you so much once again for such great feedback and very happy to hear how much you love our Cornish holiday home. Additional pasta bowls heading down next week when we visit and I’ll make sure to add in another oven gloves (I’m thinking something must have happened to the old ones). Will review the glass recycling too. Property Owner

  • "We know the area very well, having stayed on tintagel terrace over ten times."

We see this house been ripped down and rebuilt. The spec is excellent and there are really very few things that could be better. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back! Is there repeat booking discounts ? Love the boiling water tap, downstairs wet suit shower, en suites, front lounge, kitchen island. We didn’t get to use the patio as the weather was mixed and it’s February after all. There’s lots of space which is nice. A minor thing for improvement, I know you can get radio on the tv, but it would have been nice to have a dab sound system or similar, to try to get the kids not focused on the big tvs. We love this house. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the feedback. We’ve very glad you enjoyed our Cornish holiday home. We’ll definitely look into getting a radio. Property Owner

  • "There was a problem as the front door would not open."

This was fixed on day 3 but the problem recurred 2 days later. We understand that this had happened on several previous occasions. The WiFi connection was virtually non existent for most of the time. This should be made clear before booking.

  • "Fantastic place."

Couldn’t fault, so many clever features, super clean and modern place. Very comfy beds, slept great. Moving through TV channels took a bit of working out and although the Quooker tap is a clever piece of kit, I’d have preferred a kettle. Parking for three cars and electric charging point was very useful. I’d definitely stay there again.

Thank you very much for the great feedback. Very glad to hear you loved our Cornish house as much as we do. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week here, the overall area & house was amazing, very clean and beautiful inside."

Unfortunately the outside of the house wasn’t as good, the windows were covered in bird poo, a lot of cobwebs and the patio area was covered in green. The cushions for the seating were water soaked due to the storage box not being properly covered beforehand and although we tried to dry them out we didn’t have time to use them! I would definitely recommend this property as i feel these things can be easily fixed for future stays.

Hi Stacey. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Port Issac. Will be addressing your comments regarding the exterior with our cleaners. The seagull poo is somewhat of an issue in Port Issac but will see what can be done. Unsure why the cushion box was letting in water but I’m sure it can be rectified. Property Owner
