  • "Perfect location and nice basic property really close to the beach and amazing views of St Michaels Mount."

Ideal for 3 night stay for us with my 87 year old mother-in-low who uses a wheelchair. The paths to Penzance and Marizion were perfect. Our dog really loved the closeness to the beach :-)

it allows me to enjoy all of Mounts Bay and all the happy memories. PS the dog absolutely loves it.

  • "Having been born and bred in Mousehole, and consider Mounts Bay to be my favourite view, I think the location sells the package."

I am now in a position where all my older generation of family have either passed on or had to leave Cornwall for work, but my roots remain here. In addition to which we are able to bring the dog. The new costal pathway at the rear has enabled to walk the dog daily, but also serves to enable large numbers of people to enjoy the walk, cycle, run or even use a wheelchair. I will certainly be repeat booking.

I would like to hear your response to this before I leave a review on the holiday property. Regards

  • "Have booked these facilities previously and the same/similar niggles are present, Sliding door at rear of unit needs a hydraulic ram to open."

Toilet seat is so loose that it is waiting in ambush to deposit user on floor Front door lock badly worn and is past its sell by date Broken bed Small leak under kitchen sink * television broke down * * fixed within 24 hours by owner who was actually on site. Generally acceptable with each minor problem of little concern but when added together tend to take the shine off the experience. Generally acceptable

Thank you for your feedback. All the points raised have been passed to the owner who has advised there is a schedule of works taking place over the next month when all these things will be addressed. I hope you still enjoyed your holiday, and we would love to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "This is the 4th year we have booked one of these properties but our first time in Shoreline."

We continue to book (and have done for 2021 already) as the location is perfect for us. On the whole, the properties, including Shoreline, are very comfortable. However, a couple of points to raise - On all the Sykes documentation the check out time was listed at 10am, when we arrived at Shoreline on 8th August, there was a note in the property stating that checkout time was 9am. I appreciate that, due to the current situation, an earlier checkout time gives the cleaners more time but it would have been nice to have been informed prior to our arrival. This year there were parking permits issued for users of the properties. The property details states that there is parking for 2 cars but only 1 permit had been provided. Luckily we only had 1 car with us but we did consider bringing 2 cars so that my son could drive home to collect his exam results on the Thursday. The toilet seat needs repairing/replacing. The patio door was very stiff to use and was very difficult to lock. It didn't seem to fit the runners properly. Cleanliness has always been an issue for us at these properties. Bedding and towels were lovely and fresh. All crockery, cutlery and utensils were also very clean. But - surfaces and window sills in every room were very dusty, several surfaces had dead flies on them. The floor was filthy. I swept up lots of sand and grit upon arrival. Each time any furniture moved slightly (sofas, coffee table, beds, bedside cabinets etc) more piles of sand and grit were revealed. I spilt some water on the floor so used a cloth to mop it up - the cloth was literally black after mopping up the water. I wiped down the windowsill in the kitchen and the wipe was black when I had finished. In my opinion - floors really should be thoroughly swept, hoovered and mopped during each changeover clean (inlcuding moving furniture and cleaning under and behind the furniture)

Thank you for your valuable feedback and for bringing these matters to our attention. The patio doors have been adjusted and new runners have been ordered. The toilet seat has been fixed. There should have been 2 parking permits in the property and we do have spares which had we been aware we could have provided. We will ask the Housekeeper to check these at every changeover. The cleaning issues are taken very seriously and will be addressed. We hope that your holiday was enjoyable despite this and we are so pleased that the location is perfect for you. Property Owner

  • "The bungalow was Generally good in an excellent location however for the money I was disappointed in the patio door which we couldn’t open (coming off runners) we reported straight away but wasn’t fixed properly, the shower was falling off bracket and stained mattress (luckily only noticed after we stripped bed when leaving) had to be out for 9am & strip our beds & put in laundry bag!"

This is our first cottage holiday experience & generally ok enjoyed the lovely view every morning!

  • "Lovely clean cottage with a gorgeous view of St Michael’s Mount."

Fully equipped kitchen and plenty of home comforts. Loved the beach was right at the other side of the wall and there were plenty of amenities close by too. We really did love our stay here but would have appreciated WiFi a lot. Cleaning staff/teams were waiting for us to leave even before check out time (check out time of 10am) so did feel a little rushed out which didn’t feel nice, though the staff were friendly enough. Maybe a text or email to say when the cottage(s) are ready for guests to arrive would be really beneficial instead of making new guests wait until 4pm to arrive if they’re already in the area or nearby.

  • "The property contains a full sized dish washer but only 4 mugs (1 per person)."

This means you have to wash the mugs by hand every time you use them or put the dishwasher on two or three times every day. We suggest it should contain at least 12 mugs or preferably 24 which would mean the dishwasher could be used every second day. The beds are OK but most of the properties we use do have better quality mattresses & bedding. On the plus side this is a superb location (our third visit to these bungalows), great views, very quiet (you soon get used to the trains) & ideally placed for visits to Penzance, Mousehole, Lamorna, Porthcurno, Landsend & St Ives.

  • "The cottage was really nice."

All mod cons, a lovely convection cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. Over the bath shower. The bath was low enough to step in but I feel a grab rail would benefit. Two bedrooms basic, but hey what else do you need. The bedding was fresh and nipping clean and so soft. Beds comfy. The cottage was open plan. Sitting area had two settees with cushions and blankets. TV, and two very good coffee tables which came in handy. Patio windows leading to picnic table . Beautiful view of St.Michael's Mount. We could sit and watch the wind surfers or people taking leisurely walks along the promanard. When we arrived there was a pint of milk, tub of cream, scones and jam, which I thought was a lovely welcome, also dining table and chairs. Central heating plus electric fire. Dogs were allowed, my Shipoo loved it too. Especially the pub at the end of the road lol. Beside the pub was a café and gift shop. There was a caretaker a couple of times a week to assist with anything you may need, very friendly. Being next to the train line didn't bother us as trains stopped at about elevenish. Marazion is an ideal place to stay as it is not far from Landsend, St.Ives etc. Would recommend and hope to return next year.

  • "The bungalow was very dirty, stinking mop left in bathroom ."

Toilet seat not properly fitting and loose. Dirty sink trap . Floor sticky with urine. Beds , unexcetable, springs coming through the cover on double and both singles. Filthy floors , lampshades cobweb covered. Skirtings grubby. We did contact the owner and she replaced the double mattress, also the 2singles with albeit 2 old mattress. The oven smoked and set off the alarm ( which didn’t work properly) the oven could do with a deep clean. Just a better standard of housekeeping needed. It was disgusting.

It is very dusty and the bathroom quite dirty - the bath, toilet and sink were clean but there were dead flies on the windowsill (and in the kitchen), the back of the bathroom door was very dirty. All appliances in the property were clean and usable, everything else needs cleaning. The plug hole in the bathroom was disgusting!
