The property

A detached cottage situated behind the owner’s hotel and pub, The Stables lies in Longrock, on the southwest Cornish coast next to a popular beach.

Benefiting from wheelchair access with a lift within the property, and an accessible wet-room, The Stables would be great for a getaway to the seaside for anyone looking to enjoy this picturesque part of the world.

Completed with reverse-level accommodation, the first floor is home to the open-plan living space accessed either via the internal lift, or the external spiral staircase.

Featuring exposed beams and high ceilings, look forward to coming home to this property after a fun-filled day on the beach, and crash on the large cream sofa to watch a film on the TV, or pick up a good book from the selection of books available.

The middle of the room is where the lift comes to when reaching the first floor, with the dining and kitchen area beyond this.

Sit around the dining table and tuck into the complimentary Cornish cream tea, just make sure you put the jam on first!

A contemporary kitchen lies at the back, where you can rustle up some tasty treats and packed lunches to feature on your days out, or cook a meal for the group in the evening, before taking an after-dinner drink out to the courtyard on a balmy evening.

Descending the spiral staircase, or in the lift, you will find the two bedrooms; a double and a twin, both with wardrobes and storage for your personal items, a TV in each, decorated in coastal hues of blue, cream and white for a delightful finish.

The wet room features on this floor, complete with several hand rails in the room as well as a shower seat fixed to the wall.

For a special experience, book in with Cornwall Swimming Horses, where you can ride into the sea in your wetsuit on the back of a horse with no fears of falling off, with special needs riders and those suffering with long term illnesses benefiting from the therapeutic impact of swimming alongside these sentient animals.

Walk along the beach up to Marazion and visit the famous St Michael's Mount when the tide is out, and afterwards, visit one of the restaurants which look out to this amazing tidal island, for a perfect sunset evening views.

The Stables is a beautiful cottage waiting for you to visit and enjoy this fantastic area of Cornwall.

“It is quite unfair to be too critical given the pandemic circumstances, the accommodation is not as spacious as the pictures would suggest - but entirely adequate.”

A bit noisy in the early evening mainly because of outside tables for pub drinks (understandable with lockdown easing). The wetroom needs some attention as the shower head was loose and difficult to use and the drain inadequate in keeping the floor from flooding. But all things considered, comfortable enough and although Longrock is not the most picturesque of villages, it is well situated for the beach and walks to Marazion and the village shop handy for any provisions needed. The owners had kindly provided a welcome cream tea and milk and the kitchen was pre-stocked with basics (salt pepper, oil tea coffee etc). Beds comfortable and spotless linen. towels etc Parking a bit tight but manageable. The landlords were receptive to our comments and apologetic about the problems which they will hopefully sort out to the benefit of future visitors. Having said all this, the price was reasonable and we enjoyed our short break.
