• "Patio not suitable for people to use, at the moment."

  This apartment is conveniently located, its furniture, Sky TV, kitchen equipment and bedrooms make for an excellent stay. Nice gifts of chocolates, biscuits and champagne. However, once again the patio area was totally unusable due to it being extremely dirty and slippery when wet. It needs to be immediately cleaned, and kept clean, for the use of visitors!!!! We have stayed at this particular apartment many times, but I am afraid we will now be looking for another place to stay, in Carbis Bay. Such a shame!!!

  Thank you for your review. The patio is jetwashed several times a year and weed killed. However if the weather is particularly wet this may make the slabs slippery. As a regular visitor to 1& Only you must be aware that we always take on board your comments and have acted on them. We are sorry you wont return as we take great pride in our apartment and we visit regularly to check all is ok. We trust you find another apartment with a similar ethos to us. The owners. • "Once again we have enjoyed another stay at this comfortable property."

  The provision of both milk and champagne is a nice touch. It is well furnished and always extremely clean and well prepared inside. However, the outside patio is very dirty and extremely slippy when wet. As a disabled person I have to use walking sticks and I was unable to access the patio during our stay. Given that this is one of the selling points things need to be improved.

• "A lovely flat in a lovely location and very comfortable."

  Just a few very minor maintenance issues. The main issue was that one of the sinks in the ensuite didn’t drain properly. Not a big issue as we could both share the other sink. Other small issues included the kitchen bin which was very temperamental and there were no 3D glasses for the TV as per the listing. These issues were reported to Carbis Bay Holidays following the instructions in the flat but there was no response. Would definitely go back.

  Thank you for your kind review of 1&Only. There has not been any 3D content broadcast on Sky for many years (2015) so the 3D glasses were removed. The quick start guide has removed all mention of 3D. I’m sure Carbis Bay Holidays will respond to the sink issues. The TV is not a 3D tv and was put in this year (july 2023) so the 3D glasses are no use to any one. Once again we hope to welcome you back and thank you for your lovely review. • "The accommodation was excellent."

  Clean, modern and well equipped. We had an issue with a light in one of the bedrooms, contacted Carbis Bay people and had two visits within an hour and issue resolved. If we had any issue it was having to strip the beds and vacate premises by 10 am. Except for this no complaints. Excellent and we will be returning.

• "This excellent holiday apartment has benefited from the recent upgrades to the kitchen, living room furniture and television."

  We have stayed at this apartment many times and we would very strongly recommend it to other visitors looking for a first class holiday accommodation. The layout, cleanliness, outside views, patio and furnishings are all excellent. Visitors can easily access the nearby beach, take the train to St Ives or visit many of the attractions in this area. We are returning this September and have also booked holidays here in 2024. • "A stunning apartment with incredible attention to detail."

  Everything has been thought of for one’s comfort andvneeds. Superb location and very convenient for local trains to St.Ives and amazing coastal walks. Will definitely stay again. Suggest a better blackout blind is fitted in the second bedroom as security light causing lack of sleep. However, very impressed that the problem was dealt with very promptly on a temporary basis.

• "Very enjoyable stay."

  The only complaint is that the light outside the second bedroom window kept coming on and going off during the night, which disturbed the sleep of the person using that room.

• "We have stayed at this excellent apartment many times before and we have booked for a further three returns in 2023."

  It is a first class accommodation in an excellent location. The upgrades to the furniture and kitchen equipment are both very good indeed. Once again, the preparation and cleanliness of the apartment by Hayley ( Housekeeper ) was immaculate. The microwave did not work but Carbis Bay immediately supplied a replacement. We have noticed over the last two visits that the TV has shadows appearing upon it and the colour definition is not perfect.

  All of the facilities are of a high standard and the location perfect. Nice touch of champagne, biscuits, chocolates and milk on arrival with tea bags/coffee. All welcome after a long drive! It’s also helpful to have washing up liquid, a new cloth, loo rolls (& spares), bin bags, cleaning products, dishwasher tablets available. Would definitely book again and use Carbis Bay holidays again.

• "The apartment was way above our expectations in terms of location, cleanliness, amenities and such attention to detail."

  I can honestly say that nothing had been overlooked. The view was nothing short of fabulous....I mean who would get tired of waking up to a unspoilt view of the ocean. We arranged this holiday to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary and to say it was a resounding success would be a huge understatement. There was even a bottle of champagne in the fridge...and we didn't even tell them it was our wedding anniversary. We really did not want to leave to the extent we are now arranging our holidays to this apartment for next year.

To confirm, after your first comment in February 2022 regarding the fridge, shower draining slowly, the kettle clicking off and the lightbulbs being out - the owners replaced the fridge and kettle, the housekeepers has replaced the bulbs and also the shower drainage has been checked.   The weather and overall standard of the apartment were outstanding, enabling us to have an unforgettable holiday experience. The only reason that we scored cleanliness a little lower than the other top scores was because the oven and some of the kitchen utensils were not as clean as they should have been. • "A stunning property."

  Well worth the full marks just given. Tiny things- access to washer/dryer awkward. Larger breadbin. But really, these are minor. It is a glorious apartment. I would change wording with regards to taking your own bin liners, oven gloves, tea towels.. I was a little piqued at this given the price I had paid. In fact, these things were all there.

• "One and Only is an ideal holiday apartment set within a perfect location."

  This well furnished apartment has great sea views to both St Ives and Godrevy Lighthouse, with easy access to Carbis Bay, itself. The well equipped kitchen contains an excellent cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer. The lounge and bedrooms are beautifully furnished and the bathrooms well appointed. Our Housekeeper had prepared the apartment to the highest standards and provided great linen changes. Her advice and information regarding local restaurants, shopping and places to visit proved to be invaluable. We look forward to returning this September for another memorable holiday.   The view of Carbis Bay is unrivalled and the short walk or even shorter train journey in to St Ives is brilliant. If I could improve anything it would be to be able to bbq on the patio. The weather was amazing during our stay and it would have been great to enjoy cooking outdoors.

• "A lovely apartment in a beautiful location with stunning views over the bay and a lovely terraced area to enjoy them."

  Very convenient for lovely walks along the coast path and the train to pop into St Ives. Everything you could possibly need in the apartment (except a pair of scissors!) High quality fixtures and fittings - the only one small issue we had was the security light directly outside the second bedroom window was very bright and would go off during the night lighting up the room, it just needs a blackout blind. Other than that perfect - would highly recommend. This was our second stay with Carbis Bay Holidays and we’ll be booking again for next year. Thank you!

• "Good points."

  This apartment is very well appointed, practically furnished and is an excellent location for a memorable holiday. We have stayed in the apartment for several years and it is always prepared to the highest standards by the Housekeeper. At the end of each week they completed a perfect bed linen change, and she is always more than willing to provide good information about local restaurants, supermarkets and places to visit. We will return in both June and September 2022. Points of Concern. Once again the fridge was always wet inside and required to be mopped out, twice every day. The temperature in the fridge is not as cold as it could be. The sink in the shower room only slowly drains and it needs some attention. The kettle clicks off sometimes before it boils and there are quite a few bulb outages. I suggest that since the rental costs are high that either the Owners, or Sykes Holidays Maintenance Team, look at these issues immediately to provide better value.

• "Our Housekeeper, Hayley McGiff, prepared the apartment to the highest standard."

  Hayley organised our weekly linen changes superbly and she also provided excellent information about places to visit, local restaurants and supermarkets in the area. We have stayed at this excellent apartment on numerous occasions and we have already booked to return at least twice in 2022. The only issue we encountered is the persistent, on going problem with access to the internet. I think this needs to be resolved in order for the comfort of all visitors.

  On arrival after a long journey we were met by the lovely Hayley who took us through everything and made us feel right at home straight away. The apartment was beautiful; so cosy, the view stunning, it had everything that we could have asked for and more. Location was perfect, only a short train ride took us into the delightful St. Ives, where there are extensive choice of locally owned restaurants and cafes, where we had lovely meals (recommend Madeleines for a crab sandwich and a pot of tea!) The mornings were so relaxing with a beautiful view from bed and from the sofas. 1 & Only is the perfect location for quiet enjoyment, and yet only 5 minutes walk to the train station meant we were in the lively St. Ives quickly and easily. 1 & Only had two different beaches that were both beautiful and accessible and maybe a 10 min walk to get to them. It was wonderful apartment – it had everything we needed and so much more! We will definitely come back to stay again." S & R Moss
