Great location and very peaceful. More than met our expectations and would certainly recommend.

  • "This is a real gem in all respects."

Set in the owners grounds, within an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is nothing negative to say about this beautiful cottage. The cottage is spotlessly clean, warm, cozy and very well equipped. We received a very warm welcome from Karin as well as a delicious welcome pack which included a cream tea with jam & clotted cream. The cottage has been very well planned and the owners have thought of every possible comfort. The bed is extremely comfortable, and, in combination with the peaceful setting, it enables a good nights sleep. The location is perfect for exploring the Tin coast including Geevor, Levant & Botallack mines. Lands End & Penzance are both only a few miles away. St Agnes is only about 2.5 miles and the Fish & Chip shop there has the best Cod we have ever tasted, especially when eaten overlooking Cape Cornwall, only a few minutes drive from St Agnes. Our week in Garden cottage was most enjoyable and relaxing. We absolutely love it and hope to return in the not too distant future.

Hello, Thank you so much for your very kind review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and exploration of the area - particularly Levant Steam Engine! Also, many thanks for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy, much appreciated. Hope your journey home went well and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future. The cottage was lovely, clean and very comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and we really enjoyed the scones with clotted cream and jam on our arrival. There are some nice walks straight from the door and a visit to Carn Euny ancient village was fascinating. Wonderful beaches and the coastal path only a short drive away. I would highly recommend a stay at the Garden Cottage.

I think actually the photos kind of don’t do it justice it’s so gorgeous and cosy. Also what lovely host you are Karen, so thank you for being there if we needed you and for our goodies. Can’t wait to get back in the autumn. Bed is very comfy and shower is fab the garden area was great for our dog but also hand to have the enclosed area by the bedroom. Wonderful, highly recommended Jason Charlotte and Ella

  • "Very cosy, comfy cottage."

Immaculately clean. Well furnished. Beautiful decor. Well equipped. Very quiet, peaceful location. Gorgeous garden. Warm. Owners were very friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive. Fab walks from the front door. A wild, windswept and mercifully largely 'un-yummified' part of Cornwall - an ancient and spiritual landscape. We would most definitely return. Thank you.

We love its quiet location, off the beaten track but handy for everywhere in West Penwith, and with walks to local sights starting at the gate. The lawn is great for relaxing, and the utility room is really useful. We love it! The owners are really friendly and helpful.

  • "Fabulous cottage in an extremely peaceful ‘off the beaten track’ location."

The Cottage is small but very comfortable and perfect for 2 + dog! Lovely walk straight from the garden gate.. Two things worth mentioning for dog owners is that the garden is fabulous but not enclosed so we had to tie Harry up or he would have been off to visit the neighbours! The little courtyard is enclosed but no fun for a dog! In season (May to September incl’) all the easy to get to (ie no steep climbs!) sandy beaches in the vicinity don’t allow dogs between 8am and 7pm - so we drove to Porthkidney Beach at Lelant near St Ives which is fab for dog walking and the beautiful Perranporth Beach which was wonderful to spend the day on and obviously dog friendly!

  • "Compact very clean cottage, with a comfortable bed."

The kitchen is so small that it is difficult to make a meal, and lacks oven trays. Shower is good, but we often found it difficult to get sufficiently hot water in the taps. Porch is excellent for leaving wet and muddy footwear. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside, wonderful for walking direct from the door. The information pack for walks was useful and the hosts helpful.

  • "A very comfortable little cottage, very well equipped."

Lovely though of a welcome basket including home-made cream & jam scones. Just one thought - directions for finding the cottage took us a long way round. We found that going down the A30 to Drift & turning off the main road there was more direct & a little quicker. Very minor quibble. Overall a most enjoyable stay, & thoroughly recommended.

We found the owner very friendly and extremely helpful. A welcome basket containing essential items plus biscuits for our dog, and a Cornish cream tea was most welcome. We were unfortunately unlucky with the weather which was very wet and very windy. We cannot praise Garden Cottage enough and would thoroughly recommend it.

Perfect for two of us and our retriever! Tucked away in a peaceful and very quiet location, but with easy access to all the delights that West Cornwall has to offer. The owners were really kind and helpful, with a lovely basket of goodies to welcome us when we arrived. Weather a bit disappointing but that's a risk you take at this time of year. Would certainly recommend!

About the location

Penzance 7.2 miles; St Ives 12.9 miles.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival.
