Owls Roost

We have stayed on this site many times as it’s close to family.

This was our first visit to Owls Roost. First impression as you go in is that it is spacious. However the cleanliness was not good. The upstairs bathroom toilet was dirty and needed to be cleaned before we could use it, the toilet is close to the bath and goodness knows what was on the bath side panel. Moving on to the kitchen we used the microwave only once and the first thing that hits you was the smell of curry and when you looked inside it was covered in splashes. The cheese grater was dirty along with other bits of equipment so you had to wash things before you used them. The cupboards were so full you had no where to put any of your food so that was kept in the bags we brought it in. Thirdly dogs hair everywhere, so to sum up it needs a good clean

Spacious, clean, very comfortable.

I stayed with my wife and two young children for a week and we absolutely loved our stay. The kitchen is really well equipped, pans/crockery/cookware all seemed either very new or very well looked after. The addition of a cot, high chair and dining table booster seat in the cottage really helped mealtimes and bedtimes with a baby and a pre-schooler. There are no stair gates but the cottage still feels very safe, no sheer drops or dangerous areas, as long as you keep an eye on any crawling small humans! And Pendra Loweth is beautiful, a cross between a friendly village and a botanical garden, even just walking to the pool/bar/gym area and back is refreshing with all the plants and flowers surrounding you. Finally, the EV charger next to reception is a godsend, I felt happy leaving my hire car there overnight with no worries about security. I would happily recommend Owls Roost as a family base for exploring Cornwall

Lovely location, relaxing and peaceful.

Property provided the comfort and facilities for our stay. Enjoyed our time and the use of the park and swimming pool. Left a message about the fridge could do with defrosting as it wasn't very cold even though the temperature was set high. Second time we have stayed at this location different cottage this time but love the area as it's convenient for visiting family.

We had a great stay, the cottage and complex has everything you need.

It was warm and furnished very nicely. The cottage had all the facilities you need for a short stay, comfortable beds, good shower and fast WiFi. The grounds are lovely even in November and the location for Falmouth and local beaches is excellent. We look forward to returning.

A lovely little cottage within the best part of the holiday park.

We loved everything about it and felt at home straight away. We would recommend and one day be back.

Was surprised to see 3 rabbits every morning outside our patio door! Would recommend the place to anyone looking for a break in or around Falmouth.

Owls Roost was spotlessly clean, comfortable and in an ideal position, being private and the gardens were full of wildlife.

Gardens were kept very nicely.

Note to owner: We saw there was a small chip on a glass from the cupboard, so we put to one side on the worksurface so it was seen on our departure.

The house was clean, fabulously easy to use. As this is a repeat trip we have enjoyed Owl’s Roost hugely and are due back in March! The owls did you proud singing as we walked in the evening enjoying their company. Thank you

This is the second time I have stayed at this cottage.

Very clean and all amenities.

The cottage smells of dog, the bathroom shower head was filthy with limescale.

And the washing machine was unusable, stank of mould and had not been cleaned in a long time. The cookers labels had all been rubbed of so had no idea how to use it, and the beds were hard and uncomfortable.

Tell clients where the bins are.

Sykes cottages were extremely helpful with contacting the owner with a request we had.

Cottage was perfect - spotless and everything you could want for a weekend break. Site is lovely - exceptionally well maintained and people were very friendly. Easy access to walks with dogs. Beautiful location.

This is our second stay at Owl’s Roost.

It is a clean and happy space which we look forward to visiting again. Our family live in Falmouth so we enjoy our time there making new memories.

fantastic ,what more can we stay thoroughly enjoyed break accommodation first rate ,could move in so peaceful the week we went.

Lovely accommodation very clean which met all our expectations.

A couple of issues that need to be addressed, there is a need for additional knives and forks - only 4 available. Property was very cold when we arrived, economy 7 heating had not been turned on the day before to allow the storage heaters to charge up. This heating takes 24 hrs to get warm . Portable electric Convector heater had been hidden in the understand cupboard and was only found 2 days later. It would have been helpful if this had been put out and plugged in to provide some heating for our arrival. This is needed in the winter months to provide a warm welcome. One of the 2 storage heaters in the living area is disconnected so the remaining heater is insufficient for such a large room. These issues would not put us of from a return visit and look forward to a revisit in the summer of 2022.

The house was exactly as described.

Beds were comfortable and all linen/towels provided. You do need a car to get around in falmouth/penryn as there a no pavements for a lot of the time. Phone signal is sketchy at best however the WiFi was really good. Would visit owls roost again.

The house was very nice.

The only points I would like raise would be: 1. The fridge was very small and freezer would not freeze anything. We bought the children some ice cream which all melted. 2. Both the vacuums worked well however they need cleaning in some way as they really smell when used. Other than these points we had a lovely stay. The house is very well equipped and very clean. We would definitely stay again.

Great holiday home, comfy and in good location.

Communication from Sykes Cottages was fantastic, will definitely use them again.
