St Michael's Mount is the iconic part time isle reached via a cobbled causeway at low tide or ferry jaunt.

Close by, beaches at Praa Sands and Gwithian are popular with surfers and Long Rock offers a range of watersports.

St Ives, home to the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum is a fifteen minute drive.

Penzance with its rail and sea link to the Isles of Scilly and home to numerous galleries and independent shops is a five minute drive.

Its neighbour Newlyn, boasting the biggest fishing harbour in England and the quaint fishing village of Mousehole are also within easy reach.

The Minack open air theatre at Porthcurno, with its spectacular cliff-top location, is also well worth a visit.
