  • "This was our second stay at Harbour cottage, having stayed in June."

As ever the cottage was fantastic, the arrival hamper was more than excellent. We felt the lounge was difficult to keep warm during the evenings, especially during a very stormy week. Storm Barra hit whilst we were staying! We would love to book this cottage again but when looking to book in June I was mortified to see the price for a one bedroomed cottage (albeit beautiful).

  • "This is a real gem - so stylishly renovated, everything you could need and more."

We had a very comfortable week, were nice and wam in the cottage despite wild and windy weather outside. It's a fabulous spot and the cottage has been sensitively and thoughtfully restored in every way. Thank you to the owners for sharing this lovely home.

Dear Denise & Ian & Mack the Lab, we are extremely pleased that you have enjoyed your stay at the Harbour cottage and that you have found that the cottage was stylish, homely, nice and warm and in an excellent location. We were very impressed with cleanliness and the high quality of the fixtures and fittings. There was a very generous welcome pack left for our consumption. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage, as we say in Yorkshire "aye that will do very nicely "

  • "Absolute perfection."

Perfect location, perfect property. We were only able to stay for 4 nights, but it was all well appointed and presented that we feel like we've had a good week's vacation. The goodies left for us on arrival were a particularly lovely touch - and extremely useful. So very many thanks to the owners who deserve more than the 5 stars we're allowed to give them.

Dear Dr Kate thank you so much for your recent review. We are delighted that you have found that the Harbour Cottage was well appointed and presented and that it was an absolute perfection. It was also great to note that you have enjoyed our welcome pack "goodies". We look forward to welcome you again maybe for a full week. Kindest regards. Nicholas & Nicole Property Owner

  • "Harbour Cottage gave us a warm welcome in the lovely harbour Boscastle village."

The cottage was lovely and cosy during our stay, which helped enormously during awful cold weather that gave us heavy rain and gale force winds for some of the time. The landlords had left a very generous food parcel for our arrival, into this very well presented and clean holiday home. Highly recommended.

The property

Nestled at the end of the Boscastle’s tiny port is this quaint, whitewashed bolthole, Harbour Cottage.

Bring your partner to this wonderful accommodation to enjoy this corner of Cornwall, where the bustling village plays host to a sheltered natural inlet and an Elizabethan quay, which rests in an impressive amphitheatre of steep cliffs.

Park up your car in the off-road spot and soak up the picturesque surroundings before you enter into the Cornish cottage that you can call home for the duration of your stay.

Enter into the contemporary-style kitchen and unpack your shopping before you make the most of the quality appliances to try your hand at a local delicacy or a family favourite dish.

Enjoy your meal at the dining table, where the large window floods in natural light and offers delightful views as you pop open a bottle of fizz and tuck in.

After dinner, venture into the spacious sitting room, where the woodburning stove takes centre stage and character exudes from the exposed beams; snuggle up on the sofa as you flick on the TV, whilst the fire crackles in the background and offers a gentle warmth during a winter’s evening.

As the evening draws to a close, look forward to catching your rest under the sheets of the plush king-size bed and wake up each morning to the beautiful views of the harbour and surrounding countryside.

Immerse yourself in your surroundings by taking a stroll through the village, where you will find a plethora of shops and places to eat and drink, accompanied by the visitor centre and The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, for a good insight into the village’s past and culture.

From here, stroll to the harbour and climb on board one of the many boat trips, taking you down the coast towards Long Island, where you may catch glimpses of seals, razorbills, guillemots, and puffins.

Explore the coastline further and visit the National Trust owned cliffs of Penally Point and Willapark, with a white coastguard lookout tower perched on the end boasting breath-taking views.

From here, walk the famous South West Coastal Path between Boscastle and Crackington Haven, home to many features including the Strangles beach, High Cliff, which is the highest point on the path and Pentargon inlet with an impressive waterfall.

Further along the coast, you and your loved one can look forward to exploring the cove of Tintagel, famous for its ruined castle and legends of King Arthur, or spend the day at the fishing village of Port Isaac, which doubles up at Port Wenn in the British television comedy drama, Doc Martin.

Whatever the weather, a stay at Harbour Cottage promises to be wonderful.
