  • "Fantastic little cottage in the centre of an amazing village."

Lovingly furnished by a discerning eye. Everything needed was there - including a bottle of Prosecco and biscuits to welcome us. Loved sitting by the window overlooking the cliff face watching the light filtering through the greenery! Don’t miss the Witches Museum ….

Thank you for the lovely review. We agree the proximity of the cliff to the rear of the cottage makes for a completely unique view, which with the moving sun, at certain times of the day can be quite magical. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely lovely."

We`ve been coming to Boscastle for a number of years and have stayed at various cottages, one of which we had as our favourite (staying there 6 times). We`ve now decided that Pencliffe is our favourite and we will be coming back again this year. The living room is lovely and cosy; we loved settling down on the sofa with a glass of wine – while the fire was flickering away. Bliss. We loved everything about Pencliffe and can`t wait to get back to Boscastle again.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Pencliffe. Boscastle is a wondeful place to spend some time. We love every minute we spend there, and like you can't wait to get back! Property Owner

Efficient heating system and easy to control. An ideal base for visiting Port Isaac, Tintagel, and Bude.

We're really happy you felt so at home in Pencliffe. We always feel very relaxed when we visit. Property Owner

  • "Pencliffe is a lovely quirky cottage with three very good size double bedrooms."

Excellent variety of cooking utensils, crockery and large kitchen. Comfy sitting room and loved all the beautiful pictures, mostly of Boscastle. The village is a very friendly place with all you need for your holiday. Lovely place to walk and great views. Had a great time, thank you.

  • "Pencliffe is spendidly situated in Boscastle."

There is access to several great walks directly from the cottage and useful information about these is supplied at the cottage. Wifi works well and facilites are good. The absence of oven gloves was a problem but otherwise a fine cottage.

  • "The cottage was lovely but a bit damp the radiators made it to hot so only left 2 one when out to try and dry out a bit for evening ."

One problem was no were to hang wet swimwear so also as there for 2 weeks hard to wash and dry cloths area great for walks and surf all in all a good holiday.

I’m glad you had a good holiday. There is a Sheila Maid in the kitchen over the radiator and is a very efficient and there is also a clothes airer under the bed in the downstairs bedroom, we find this adequate for drying clothes. The heaters are all thermostatically controlled and used correctly should provide sufficient background heating, we have provided detailed instructions, in the welcome pack, on how to use them. • "Lovely cottage, however there were some defects such as door handles with screws sticking out and dodgy lights in the living room."

We noticed many other residents had made these same comments in the visitor’s book for several month prior to our stay but nothing had been done to resolve these issues before our stay. Quite dark when inside as cottage is virtually built into the hillside so having the lights on is must if bad weather and when the lights in the Livingroom don’t work it’s very dark inside.

Thanks for your comments. We do provide contact details at the property for our management company who would have been only too happy to help. We were under the impression that this had been dealt with and have already contacted the management company to ensure the handles and lighting are rectified as soon as possible. This quirky property is a 19th century building which is built into the cliff and has a lot of character. There is also occasional lighting at the property to enhance the overhead lights. Great location and good base for visiting other areas, only downside if your cooking meals whilst there would suggest taking a frying pan or two

We are really glad that enjoyed Boscastle and the surrounding areas. We are really sorry that there weren’t enough frying pans for you. We thought one would be enough. We will definitely make sure that more are provided for future guests. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely cosy cottage in a superb location just 2 minutes from the harbour in Boscastle, right in the heart of the historic village but also quiet, being round the corner from the main tourist thoroughfare."

There is no garden but there is a patio out the front with comfortable furniture and it's a lovely sun trap in the mornings. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortably furnished with lots of character and thoughtful touches. There is a well stocked Spar shop two minutes away in the village. The Wellington Hotel is just across the road and we had a lovely meal there. There are other pubs, cafes and a chip shop in the village. There are loads of beautiful coastal and countryside walks accessible from the cottage without having to drive anywhere. We also visited 5 different beaches nearby, the nearest being only a ten minute drive. We would definitely recommend this cottage to families or groups of adults as there are three ample sized double bedrooms. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We are delighted that you enjoyed our cottage and beautiful Boscastle as much as we do. Thank you for your lovely review. Property Owner
