    The bed was so comfortable, parking was fine on the road and the view was better than the photos. The stairs are steep and narrow as in the Sykes description but not a problem for us. Hope to come back in the future.

  • "Very comfortable and in a good location in the village."

    Although intended for two people, there was more than adequate crockery and cutlery. The welcome package was appreciated after a long journey. Parking was sometimes difficult but we always managed to find a space,

  • "Lovely cottage in an ideal location."

    Owner promptly answered my query before our stay. Cottage had everything we needed for our week’s stay. It was compact but ideal for a couple. Would definitely recommend.

  • "We had a great week in Porthleven when staying at The Loft."

    The house was very comfortable and, at only a five minute walk, was also convenient for the village centre. The welcome pack was much appreciated, and we had everything we needed in the cottage. Luckily, we were able to park outside the house - slightly easier here than in other parts of the village. We had lovely views of the sea from the upstairs window. The cottage is not only a good base for the town, but very convenient for the coastal path. The stairs are a bit steep - just be careful! We would be very happy happy to go back to The Loft.

  • "Lovely cottage, comfortable and clean with everything you need."

    Only downside was not having a change of bedding or towels during our 2 week stay. The towels especially did not dry fully and started to smell of damp by the end of the holiday.

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay but although made aware of the issue with the steep stairs, the narrowness of the treads added to the problem when attempting to take goods up or down the stairs."

    If a lift could be installed this would then be a perfect property. The duvet was a high tog for the heatwave conditions and there was no provision of a lighter weight one.

  • "It’s looking a little tired, time for a makeover."

    The stair gate is not fit for purpose. It’s in a very good location for all amenities and has lovely sea views. Overall a lovely little cottage base in lovely Porthleven.

  • "Travelled all the way from Dublin ferry and road to this little gem with our little dog ."

    Great location . Spotlessly clean . Yeah you do have to watch you head going down stairs but not a big deal . Portleven itself is wonderful. Highly recommend 5 ⭐

  • "Wifi instructions - out of date."

    We had to use the password on the back of the router. Very steep staircase. Otherwise it was fine

    Thank you for bringing to our attention that the wifi instructions are out of date in the information folder. We have recently changed providers to provide our guests with full fibre internet and have left the password on a sign on the kitchen wall along with a QR code. We will of course update the folder.   • "The Loft is a great place to stay, very convenient location with a short stroll into town."

    You can also park outside the front door. Very comfortable and relaxing with a lovely view. Nice comfy bed. We enjoyed a river walk by the Helford, and a superb cream tea at the Holy Mackerel cafe. In Porthleven good quirky vibe and food at the Mussel Shoal. We also enjoyed The Harbour View cafe, good sandwiches and simple food done really well. The pooch enjoyed a Doggie sausage and now has his very own Doggie sausage loyalty card, so we’ll just have to come back! Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "Just returned from a stay at The Loft in Porthleven."

    What a find! Fantastic. It’s location is perfect, you can walk to everything Porthleven has to offer, be it restaurants, pubs, shops, cafes,sauna! Car parked right outside. The view is better than in the photos. You feel connected to the sea with the waves crashing below you. The Loft is incredibly well designed and thought out. Really contemporary and smart! Immaculate! It’s a relatively small space but feels spacious. It is very comfortable to stay in. Really cosy and doesn’t lack anything. Even comes with lovely bathrobes! We were there with our dog and it’s location is perfect. The coast path is just outside the property. Can’t recommend it enough. A perfect “bolt hole”. Jo Feb 25

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden, coastal gems, located near Helston, famous for it's annual Flora Dance Festival. Situated between Lizard Point and Land’s End, Porthleven retains the feel of a traditional Cornish fishing village, enjoying uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Cornish coastline. The iconic clock tower sits on the harbour entrance and the pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants cluster around the historic picturesque inner harbour, where there is plenty of boating and marine activity. With a warren of streets lined with classic Cornish, granite cottages, an extensive beach manned with lifeguards, the chance for alfresco dining in one of a number of well reviewed restaurants, and crabbing off the harbour, there are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, all year round. Porthleven is building a reputation for eating out with a popular food festival established in the spring. Out of season, Porthleven has one of the best surf breaks in the country where you can sit down and get lost for hours watching the energetic surfers riding the waves. There are some fabulous hidden coves along this stretch of coastline, including Praa Sands, Poldhu Cove, and Rinsey, a magical setting for the more energetic.
