  • "We had the most amazing week staying at Pirates Pad."

The property was clean and comfortable and Mevagissey is wonderful too. The property suited all 6 of us ranging from 2 to 71. The only thing that could've made it better would be a toilet downstairs but there are 3 on the 1st floor. We would most definitely book again.

  • "The house is perfect although a downstairs toilet would be even better."

Would be nice if the courtyard was made more useable. Have stayed before, would stay again

  • "We have stayed in many properties at Mevagissey over the years, but Pirates Pad has to be the best."

It is a great base for visiting the surrounding areas of Cornwall. Returning after a busy day of sightseeing was a pleasure, and because of its convenient location we could stay local in the evening for food and drinks to wind down before another fun day of day tripping. The well equipped house suited all of our needs and was very spacious, we are a family with young adults and there is plenty of room. With 2 showers, 1 bath and 3 toilets there was little fighting to be first back after a day at the beach to freshen up! Will definitely book here again.

  • "Perfect place for a family of 7!"

Great location and the house is fully equipped with everything we needed. Super comfy beds and plenty of room for everyone. Only slight issue is the shower in main bathroom doesn’t drain well. Didn’t cause us any issues apart from teenagers trying not to flood the bathroom! Highly recommend for anyone who wants to be right in the centre of the beautiful Mevagissey

  • "The property was exactly as described in the details we looked at before booking."

Spacious and comfortable. Showers were nice and powerful. The owner was also very responsive when we contacted them with a query about the property. On leaving we weren't 100% sure on what to do with stripped bed linen so we left all towels and stripped linen in the master bathroom. We misunderstood that there are two keys in the keypress on arrival. the front door requires two keys (a yale type lock and a dead lock type). I thought it meant two sets of keys. I presume that if people would be coming in and out at different times then the keys would need to be kept in the key press so that whoever gets back to property first can let themselves in. We could not get the dead lock key to work. Only the yale lock was used when we arrived. The doorbell unit would only work 10% of the time so it may possibly require a new battery. We were extremely happy and satisfied with our stay in this lovely property.

  • "We’ve just spent a great week at Pirate’s Pad!"

The house is clean and inviting, with everything you need for a holiday week. The owner is readily available to solve any hiccups for you. Its position is perfect, especially if, like me, you have limited mobility, as it’s just yards away from the pubs and shops. Despite this, it’s extremely peaceful (apart from the seagulls!) The backyard is a great sun trap at limited times of day, with large table, chairs and bbq. Beds are comfy, the bath is devine, showers faultless and the provision of 3 loos is a bonus! Our only disappointment was the problems trying to access terrestrial TV! We had the pleasure of meeting Becky and Zoe, the changeover team - lovely friendly folk! (They even kindly negotiated a later checkout for us!) This is our 4th stay in Mevagissey, and this property is by far the best we’ve stayed in! Thanks, Jo and Julie! If we ever return to Meva, we’ll hopefully find a free week with you!

  • "We loved the house."

Really well presented. Very clean. Nice touch with the google speaker. The only negative was the TV"s couldn't pick up terrestrial, but the BT downstairs still worked. All in all, a lovely place.

We are pleased you enjoyed your visit, unfortunately the storms we encountered during your visit affected the TV signal. We do hope this did not impact your visit too much! Property Owner

  • "Pirates Pad was absolutely perfect for a week in Mevagissey."

The property is beautiful, really well maintained, was perfectly cleaned and welcoming and is in a really great location. The kitchen is well kitted out with everything needed and the furniture throughout is comfortable and luxurious. Fabulous big comfy beds and powerful showers. Parking space nearby was included which was really convenient and the lovely harbour is just around the corner so you can watch the seals and cormorants any time and are close to the restaurants and pubs . We had a really well needed perfect break and I can't wait to book again. Thank you Pirates Pad

Parking at a nearby car park was included in our stay. We did have a couple of issues and the owner was quick to contacts us. We are a family of four adults and the accommodation worked for us. The very top floor isn’t easily accessible with the low ceilings, but able bodied people should be fine.

Enter the property and find a spacious, light and bright living/dining room with a large corner leather sofa and matching love seat providing comfortable seating, while you relax and enjoy something on TV, read one of the provided books or perhaps enjoy a family game, while the dining room has seating for the whole group to enjoy meals together, with a warming woodburning stove in the corner to add a homely warmth and ambience to the space.

The well-equipped kitchen has a large Range cooker with double oven, a dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and a host of other amenities that will come in handy during your stay.

The first floor has two spacious bedrooms; a super-king-size double that can be made into a twin if required, and a king-size double with a TV and convenient en-suite shower room, both with attractive wooden flooring, feature wallpaper and ample storage space.

The family bathroom has a nautical theme, with blues and whites offset against the grey tiled floor, with a corner bath and walk-in shower, along with heated tower rail for extra comfort.

Take care heading up to the second floor; due to the age of the property, the head height in the stairwell is restricted in places.

On this floor are a further two bedrooms, both twins, one of which has a zip/link feature that can be turned into a super-king-size double, with Velux windows allowing in lots of light, both are spacious and the bedroom ceiling height is 1.88m / 6ft2”.

Outside is a courtyard garden with furniture, where you can enjoy an alfresco meal on a sunny day, while parking is available for one car in the Willow Car Park, 300m from the house.

Close to the centre of Mevagissey, a short walk will bring you to a selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, cafés and the picturesque harbour, filled with boats.

Walk along the harbour wall, visit the Mevagissey Museum, and head along the coast in both directions to find a host of sandy beaches.

The Lost Gardens of Hegelian botanical gardens is less than ten minutes away, while the world-famous Eden Project is within a 30-minute drive.

Hop on a ferry at the harbour and visit Fowey, a town and cargo port situated at the mouth of the River Fowey, with a host of sandy beaches, like the National Trust's Lantic Bay, along with shetered coves such as Readymoney Cove and a host of attractions, including 16th century St Catherine's Castle.

Enjoy scenic walks along the south coast in both directions; head north to the market town of St Austell and onwards towards the Polperro Heritage Coastline, while south encompasses the Roseland Heritage Coastline, one of the most picturesque and unspoilt stretches of stunning coastline in the UK.

Pirate's Pad is a wonderful, family-friendly property, close to the coast and a number of fantastic attractions in south Cornwall.
