  • "Spotless and fully equipped with everything you could want."

Fantastic little extras like coffee machine with pods and smart tv. The cottage was warm on cold mornings and perfectly located for tramping the southwest coast path. Would not hesitate to recommend it.

  • "Our stay at Polkirk Forge was great!"

The cottage is in a perfect location, we loved Meva and enjoyed coming back to the comfort of The Forge after our days out on the beach at Gorran, walking the coast and exploring. The cottage is very spacious and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. I would have preferred darker bedroom curtains for those holiday lie ins but it was still a 5 star place to stay for us! We would definitely book to stay again. Many thanks for the extra information provided by Barry to help us on arrival and ensure a smooth start to our holiday.

There are games, books, children's toys, beach toys /mats and even some trekking poles provided. It is in a good location with restaurants, pubs and a few reasonable shops in close walking distance. We had a lovely week here!

  • "We loved every minute of our stay at Polkirt Forge!"

The property has been fitted out to high specs and the attention to detail was evident and so appreciated. We appreciated the lovely linen, decent knives, crockery, cutlery, rooms, bathrooms and stunning views! A quick walk down stone stairs leads you to a tiny little sandy beach close to a fab little Aquarium, which our twins loved. We all soon got used to the tiny roads and absolutely loved the look and feel of Mevagissey.

  • "This is a lovley property, it is so well equipped and modern ."

I wouldnt like to take very young children as it is on a busy narrow hill and is quite precarious to walk along. It is very quiet at night . We loved that the lounge is upstairs the view across the harbour is sublime. Mevagissey is a lovely town and near to the Eden project, the lost gardens of heligan and lovely walks. If you book this wonderful cottage make sure you book your restaurants before as everything was booked up for months. Our favorite was Salamander, really lovely food , with just being the two of us we ate out every night . But if you are a family the kitchen is very well equipped. The owners have thought of everything.

  • "We loved staying here."

The location was perfect - less than a minute from excellent restaurants and the waterfront. Mevagissey was a fantastic base - we liked wandering the harbour, enjoyed the shops and restaurants, took the ferry to Fowey, and walked the coastal path to various beaches. The upstairs of the house in particular was excellent with harbour views and modern furnishings, and the kitchen and bathroom were both well equipped. The welcome pack and support from the owners was brilliant. We would stay again.

Very comfortable and well equipped, it suited our needs perfectly. The only downside was lack of nearby parking.

  • "Polkirt Forge is located just next to the harbour - there are steps down to it and a tiny beach you can access at low tide which our children adored."

Views of the harbour and out to sea are glorious. We loved being right in the village as you are right on top of everything. The road outside is very narrow but the owners make it easy by giving you a permit to the car park 5 mins walk away, which is very safe. We had a lot of stuff to unload, so had to brave the road which was interesting!! If you don’t have too much, best to walk through the village. The info given by the owners was comprehensive and helpful, apart from recycling which we couldn’t find. There is everything in the house that you would need, from cooking utensils to beach stuff and even though some ornaments have been taken out recently due to COVID, the house still feels homely and welcoming. The one thing I would say is that the downstairs feels a little damp, but there is a washer drier to use if necessary. There is also a washing line in the small courtyard. This is a lovely place to come for a holiday. We really didn’t want to leave!
