  • "We enjoyed our stay in "Maple", it's roomy, and light and has the benefit of an outlook stretching out to part of the local golf course."

The outside area, decking, is reasonably private too with table, chairs and a bbq. We would certainly stay there again

  • "Lovely clean property, great jumping off point for Falmouth and surrounding areas, nice and quiet, good parking."

A couple of things of note, no information openly provided about bins, dog walking area etc. we found a folder which looked like a photo album 3 days into our stay which was under a pile of leaflets in a corner under the WiFi hub. The decking photo is quite misleading in that it looks as though your dog can access the open field from decking which you cannot. I had to ask a neighbour how to access dog walking / toilet area. The decking / garden furniture could do with a refresh or clean up. The toaster blew out all the electricals with sockets, so could not use that for the week. The smoke alarms went off if you used the grill instead! in general I would recommend this property just some bits and pieces need addressing.

  • "Great location, very quiet and peaceful, and we enjoyed our stay at Maple."

The property was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay, however there are a few things that need sorting, to give it 5 stars. Mainly the outside area, the decking needs to be replaced/sorted as its starting to rot and when wet it is very slippery, the outside furniture has seen better days and again needs sorting. We didn't use the bbq so cannot comment on its use but it was starting to rust. Warning to anyone who is tall ie 6ft and over all the bedrooms have sloped ceilings you will bang your head if not careful.....

  • "Maple is a comfortable property, in a good location for exploring the area."

The Wi-Fi was reliable. I thought it decent value for the price paid. There were some small issues, some still ongoing given what reviewers have said from more than a year ago. The access road has clearly been resurfaced; great! The sticking front door lock really needs a professional to look at it, since it is a constant source of annoyance. The kettle with a jammed lid remains. The barbecue was unusable. Both need replacing. The decking and garden furniture are serviceable, but the condition of them is out of step with the feel of the rest of the property. In addition, I felt the TV could be lowered by a metre, since watching it was like being on the front row at the cinema! Nevertheless, I would be happy to stay at Maple again.

  • "A lovely property in a quiet and pretty location."

The barn is warm and bright, very clean and spacious and pleasantly fitted out. The grounds are very pretty too, and well planted, and there's a great dog walk along the side of the golf course accessed by a private gate for Pennance residents. The deck has a lovely view of the Golf Course but needs a jetwash as it's very slippery as you walk out of the back door. An airer to dry washing is needed too. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend. Attending to the two suggestions above would make this property 5stars across the board. Thanks for a great week in Cornwall!

Hi Thank you for your feedback and I have made note of the points raised I am glad that you enjoyed your stay...it is a special place With regards to the slipiness, the cleaners will rectify this when they are next at Maple They will also put out a clothes airer Thank you for raising these issues I am glad that you had a good time in Maple Property Owner

  • "Overall a nice property, but the long access road is problematic to negotiate due to the numerous potholes."

The accommodation could be better if a few things were attended to…..the front door lock needs attention as it’s really difficult to open from either side. The outside table/chairs and decking area have seen better days & weren’t particularly clean. The decking was strewn with leaves on arrival (for info, the outside space wasn’t secure for our little dog). We had to buy some items to make our stay more comfortable….a kettle (the one provided was unusable with a jammed lid), a broom to clear the decking, a clothes airer as there was a washing machine but nowhere to hang wet laundry during our 2 week stay, an anti-slip mat for the bath/shower and a set of coat hangers for the hooks in the second bedroom (there’s no wardrobe). There appears to be a hornets nest in the roof adjoining the neighbouring property (they kept coming inside and we eventually worked out where they were coming from). On one occasion we had 6 inside so had to be careful about opening the windows/patio doors & kept them mostly shut, which was very uncomfortable in the hot weather & affected our enjoyment of the holiday. The wifi and phone signals are intermittent, which we knew about anyway & it didn’t particularly bother us. The allocated parking is in an area adjacent to the complex, rather than outside the property. On the plus side, the beds are comfy, it’s clean & spacious inside, in a good location with nice views of the golf course and in a sunny position if you’re lucky enough to have good weather.

Hi Thank you for your comments The front door issue I was unaware of and will see to Also the hornets nest As to the Garden furniture being a little old - I'm trying to do my bit for conservation by not adding unnecessary items to landfill The potholed road is unfortunately out of my control as it is not owned by me, but any reasonable car should have no problem whatsoever negotiating it As to drying stands etc - unfortunately some holiday makers will take things home! Maple is in a beautiful location and I hope you enjoyed your stay... Thanks for your feedback and I will look into the matters raised Property Owner

It looked a nice place plenty of parking and the area was very clean with some lovely properties around. We did have job to unlock the front door as it had dropped slightly. Inside was very clean. Grand Children liked there rooms. there is some maintainence needed decking was very dirty and garden furniture past there sell by date. Our room had a nice onsuite but a small sink, beds were comfortable. The kitchen lacked a washer drier,as we had afew days of rain and struggled to dry clothes especially with 5 of us and no washing line.

  • "Lovey location and layout of the house, but does need maintenance / modernisation."

En-suite toilet roll holder broken, shower attachment to wall broken- needing to hold shower hose in hand. Downstairs toilet not flushing properly- noisy all the time and takes a long time to refill after flushing. Kitchen tap dripping. Small points but does let down the holiday let. .

I am sorry that you experienced some problems. All the points that you have mentioned have now been rectified. However I am glad that you like layout of the house and it does have a wonderful position so close to the sea and wonderful walks which I hope you enjoyed. Property Owner

  • "The holiday cottage is very expensive for what it provided once I had seen it in the flesh to other one I had used on your site this year, there are not enough sufficient wardrobes in the rooms 2 and 3 or chest of drawers in the main bedroom 1."

The small bedroom mattress is extremely uncomfortable and needs replacing completely. No tv's in the bedrooms for when guests want private time in their rooms. The settees were to low and short for the men in our group as they were both over 6ft tall. On the website it said 1 km to Falmouth, but it was 3.5 miles, I was hoping to walk into Falmouth Town in around 20 minutes, but you could only do the pond at Swan pool in that time one way. Very misleading info on your site. The weather wasn't brilliant no one faults but we were not able to do a beach sort of holiday. There were quite a few problems with the house itself, which I left a note for the lovely cleaning ladies on leaving. The plus points quite to sleep at night the week we were there.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We have taken your comments on board. Sorry to hear you found the small bedroom mattress uncomfortable mattresses are of such personal preference. The property is not advertised has having televisions in the bedrooms. It is two miles from Maple to the centre of Falmouth I am sorry we could not find where we stated it was 1km.We are pleased to hear you had a quite week. Property Owner

  • "Overall a great stay in a fantastic location."

Only downside were the settees were not very comfortable, the TV was scrambled and kept losing signal and no dvd. Other than that a really pleasant and relaxing stay.

Hi I am really sorry that you found the sofas uncomfortable. They were purchased from IKEA where they sell as a popular model. As to TV reception, I agree that sometimes due to the weather and other factors the picture quality can vary. As you know Maple is situated on the edge of Falmouth surrounded by country side and this seems to be the price paid sometimes, although I find relatively rarely, for living amongst the beauty of Cornwall. As to the DVD, there used to be one but it went walkabout at some point. I have replaced it but sorry for that. Happy to hear you had a great stay. Property Owner

  • "The only problem was when we arrived two of the dining chairs had loose legs and were a possible accident waiting to happen."

We tried to contact the owner through the phone number on the information sheet and left a message to let them know and had no reply. It would have been polite of them to at least acknowledge they had received this message as I made clear it was not a complaint just a warning for future booking. I did fix one of the chairs but one still is a hazard.

Hi Thank you for letting me know about the chairs. You are quite right and the chairs have now been replaced. I apologise most sincerely. Property Owner

  • "Generally very happy with the property, cleanliness, peaceful situation and lovely view from the decking."

The lane leading to the barn is extremely uneven and bumpy and you really need to drive into the town as there is no pavement and a long walk otherwise. We did walk through the wood and across part of the golf course but this is a very steep climb back. As a base, the situation for visiting Cornwall is excellent. Although some points are negative, nevertheless we had a very relaxing and enjoyable time.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad that you enjoyed the majority of your trip. The access road you mentioned is indeed an un surfaced country lane running between mature trees, which can prove a bit of an obstacle course, but over which we unfortunately have no control as it is owned by the golf course. As I have lived in Maple over a few winters now I find the obstacles no real problem to manoeuvre around, but I agree that it can be a bit bumpy if you are not used to it! Regarding your return walk back, some hills are part of the local countryside from which there are stunning views over local beaches and the sea. However I am sorry that you found them to be on the steep side. Property Owner
