  • "Great first impression when arriving at the cottage."

    There was a private parking area and a pretty little garden. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfortable and there was good hanging and drawer space. The cottage is ideally placed, just a short walk into Tintagel. Tintagel itself has good pubs and restaurants and a variety of shops. It is a good base for visiting other places too - we went to Trebarwith Strand, Crackington Haven, Polzeath and Boscastle. All in all, we had a lovely stay and would book Cove Cottage for any further visits to Tintagel.

  • "Lovely cottage with parking and central for travelling round north Cornwall."

    Very comfortable - just a couple on minor points - the mattress on the bottom bunk was very uncomfortable you could feel the springs! The internal front door lock was also broken. One minor point this is the first cottage that we’ve stayed in without a welcome pack - not a deal breaker as we bought our own milk, tea, coffee etc. all other facilities were great, thank you.

    Thanks v much for the feedback. I have replaced both bunk mattresses with good quality 16cm top and 20cm bottom foam ones, I'm so sorry about the springs. There isn't an internal lock actually, it doesn't need one as there is just a lock on the front door. Future guests please let me know of any issues so I can sort them out for you if I can as I live on site and I won't necessarily know if there is an issue without your input. I do provide some consumables such as washing up liquid, hand wash, bin bags, recycle food bin bags, and two toilet rolls (or one whopper size). There should also be some coffee and tea bags too.     . we had a slight accident with the mirror.. one of our children knocked it off the chair and it landed on them and cracked… we are sooo sorry it was a complete accident x

  • "We spent a wonderful week at Cove cottage."

    It was very clean with plenty of room. Very quiet and close to the centre of Tintagel where there were plenty of places to eat and drink. Matt the owner was very friendly and on hand to answer and questions and give recommendations on places to eat and see. The coast path is right on your doorstep if you enjoy walking. We only used the car twice the whole week we were there. There is also a bus service into Bude which we used. Just as cheap as driving and parking there! We would definitely stay at Cove cottage again. Thank you Matt.

  • "Property comfortable and well stocked and furnished."

    Lovely outside garden area. However twin bunk room extremely tiny and chest of drawers not clean. Cutlery and drawers in kitchen not clean. We cleaned these ourselves. Place needs a bit of TLC just a lick of paint would be fine.

    So sorry about the chest of drawers and cutlery, I have only just seen this review but I will ensure the cleaners are made aware of this. If reading this please let me know of any issues in person as well so I can remedy them for you or at least for the next guests. Re the bunk room it is indeed very small. It does have adult size bunks though and a chest of drawers but no room for anything else. Regards the painting I am having it redecorated in Jan.     Central to all that Tintagel and the surrounding area has to offer. History, walks and nature right on the doorstep. Matt is a very accommodating host being on hand if you need him but doesn't disturb or interrupt your stay. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Thanks Matt

  • "The property was clean & homely & had everything that we needed, we loved the pillows they were so comfortable."

    The cottage was in an ideal setting it was very peaceful & we enjoyed sitting in the garden. It was only a few minutes walk to the shops & places to eat which was also a bonus.

  • "Cove cottage had we everything we needed for our week away."

    It’s perfectly situated for the coastal path walks and the pretty town of Tintagel. It comes with its own parking space which was great - although it’s so well- situated we walked everywhere! Having its own garden was a huge bonus, we were able to sit out for dinner. Matt was very helpful, and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. As they say in Cornish it was simply ‘splann’!

    It was cosy and comfortable and in a great location. We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys, the bunk beds were standard size and not a problem for them to sleep in. Matt, the host, was friendly and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

  • "Absolutely loved the Cove Cottage!"

    It was airy, bright and quiet and nicely decorated to suit the beach theme. Loved having our own back garden with so many flowers to enjoy! Cooked quite a bit in the kitchen which was very well equipped. Bedroom was very quiet and comfortable. Overall it felt like home and Tintagel proved to be a great choice for a base to discover Cornwall. Will definitely return to this cottage.

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive.
