  • "Lovely property very comfortable and clean everything you could ask for and a little bit more."

Would definitely book this property again. Only downside is the parking is a bit difficult obviously understand nothing can be done about that.

Location is fantastic for a few minutes walk to Padstow shops and harbour. Very well equipped and comfortable. Would highly recommend a stay.

White company fluffy towels, great shower, comfortable beds. Very clean. A stones throw from Padstow hustle and bustle. Would recommend!

  • "It was OK, there were just a few things that let it down really."

It wasn't particularly clean, very dusty surfaces and any crockery, cutlery, pots and pans all needed a good wash before use. The mattresses in the twin rooms were quite old and didn't have toppers, so were uncomfortable. A couple of the table lamps didn't have bulbs. Essentially a very nice house, in a great location, but the prep and housekeeping between each guest needs to improve.

  • "We loved our time at Beachcomber."

The house was well maintained and an excellent amount of equipment for cooking our Christmas dinner! We loved the Christmas tree and decorations over the fire. The house was warm and cosy. The beds were really comfortable and the house felt home from home. Thank you to Nic who was helpful.

  • "Beachcomber is a welcoming and lovely property ideally situated for Padstow and surrounding areas."

The home itself is set up with all the amenities and home comforts you'll need - the garden at the back of the house is a nice surprising extra too! Within a few minutes walking distance to the harbour we were able to go back and forth throughout the day / evening. Parking can be a bit tricky but that is common in the area. The only negative we had about our stay was the washer / drying machine which left the washed clothes covered in lint (most noticeable on dark clothes), we think this may be due to the dryer filter being clogged up but we managed. Nic texted us before we arrived to let us know the house was ready which was nice to know. We'd definitely consider renting the property again. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The toaster broke on our first morning and the owner had it replaced the next day. Padstow was a great place to stay. We didn't use the car all week, we just caught the bus and walked the costal path. Would definitely like to stay again.

Thank you so much for your kind comments, so glad you had a good time Property Owner

Fantastic location, beautiful beaches and great restaurants. House was clean and immaculately presented, and the super king bed in the master room was a lovely comfortable treat. We will most definitely be back. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect position 5 minutes walk from the harbour with parking right outside. We enjoyed the beautiful view as soon as we stepped outside the front door. Spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, wonderful shower and plenty of space to store coats, boots, wellies etc. We would be delighted to stay here again in the future.

  • "Have stayed here before and cottage and location are perfect."

I was really disappointed with the cleanliness, cleaning was obviously a rushed job and i had to clean cottage myself before unpacking. Only left with a few sheets of toilet paper, no washing up liquid, no hand soap and dishwasher full of dirty crockery. This will put me of staying again.

We had such a lovely time. Beachcomber was more than we hoped for, come the end we didn’t want to leave. Felt very homely and everything we needed was present. My 7yr old daughter loved the toys which was a nice touch. Loved the beds, very comfortable. We hope to return again.

  • "The house was dusty downstairs and the rugs needed a good hoover."

There wasn't a bbq, think one was listed in the details. A couple of pans had been put away dirty (baked on scrambled eggs) this may be because there weren't any non stick pans. There was no welcome pack - covid may be the reason given for this but if soap etc can be left why not milk? Having used Helpful holidays when they were independent we felt standards and the bits that made the company special had been lost now they are owned by Sykes. We are now less likely to use Helpful holidays than we were, especially with the huge price rises this year had seen.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the not up to standard cleanliness and we will be sure more attention will be put into in. The property does not have a BBQ and it was never listed as having one. The Welcome Pack is optional and it is not a requirement for all properties to have. We hope you will visit Beachcomber again in the future for more lovely holidays in Cornwall. Property Owner

  • "We just spent 2 weeks in the most comfortable, perfectly located house, we couldn’t have asked for anything better."

The only negative, a price increase of £1000 for the same time next year, otherwise I would have rebooked by now.

  • "After a 7 hour journey, we arrived to find no milk in the fridge and that all the local shops were closed."

We had to venture out, away from Padstow to find basic provisions. We recognise that Covid restrictions may limit "Welcome Packs", however, we have stayed in other accommodation during this holiday, where "Welcome Packs" have been safely left. Given the price of this accommodation, compared to those, the lack of at least a pint of milk is extremely disappointing and would be much less risky from a Covid point of view than leaving all the soft furnishings in the living room and bedrooms, which you have done. Some of the crockery and cutlery, which were found in the Dishwasher, and in the cupboards, were not clean. Remnants of food and grease were found on several plates, baking trays, and cutlery. Parking on the road outside was a nightmare, with very limited space and the hill being very steep. We think this should be highlighted in the listing in case people have mobility problems. There was also a confidentiality issue, as in one of the drawers, we found the previous occupant's full name and contact details for "Track & trace", which had not been removed and kept safely as per guidelines.

Thank you for your feedback. The Welcome Pack is optional and it is not a requirement for all properties to have. Shops in Padstow usually close around 6 pm but the main superstores are open until 9 pm / 10 pm. We apologize for the crockery and cutlery and we will be sure the cleanliness will be up to the best standard. The parking outside the property is a first come first serve system but there is a pay and display car park just 5 minutes on foot. Unfortunately, the streets in Padstow are quite narrow and hilly as the majority of the Cornwall. We apologize for the Track & Trace issue, the information will now be stored differently. We hope you will visit Beachcomber again in the future for more lovely holidays in Cornwall. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is lovely and has everything you would need except the patio furniture is now very tired, the wicker table has holes in and one of the backs of the chairs was broken."

The parasol was not usable as it was also broken and so was the base. The property manager did respond quickly when I messaged her and bought round 2 replacement chairs but no parasol or base. This may not be a problem for some people but my mother is 85 and couldn’t sit in the sun for long so spent less time outside than we would have liked. One of the deck chairs was also covered in bird poo so couldn’t be used. Also parking in the road is crazy! We only managed to park in the same road once in the week and the rest of the time had to park quite a distance away. Again not a problem for more the more agile but be warned.

  • "Had a really enjoyable stay but there is some maintenance things that need doing on the property."

The handle on the bathroom door was loose and came off, the chairs around the dining room table had loose legs on some of them, and about mid week a bulb blew in the living room which tripped the lights and we had no idea where the fuse board was. This information could do with being in the instructions or a telephone number of someone to call if there are any maintenance issues. Having said all this would definitely stay here again, the property is so deceiving in size and the location is fantastic, thank you.

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased that you enjoyed the location. The housekeeper's details are displayed on the board and are also included in the key collection details. Had you contacted us, we would have been happy to arrange for the light and fuse to be looked at. Thank you for drawing our attention to the handle and legs which we have since addressed. We could not have asked for a better location... a 2 minute walk from the harbour and a variety of pubs/bars and restaurants. The house itself is charming and very comfortable with all the facilities you need and is decorated to a very high standard... especially the beautiful decking area where we enjoyed many glasses of wine and fresh seafood whilst overlooking the picturesque view. • "The location of the property is spot on and we had a great holiday."

However, there are some areas that really need improvement, especially in light of covid and cleanliness. 1) damp behind the chest of drawers in twin bedded room, plus other damp spots around the house 2) 2 broken glasses, left on the side and not dealt with 3) dishwasher not working until we fixed it 4) landing light not working, with sellotape over the switch to suggest it is an ongoing issue 5) main light not working in the double bedroom, so had to use the two bedside lights 6) bowls, plates and mugs put away very dirty, pictures available if needed 7) rubbish not collected as directed (not in your control, I know, but you should be aware of this occurrence) An advisory note, it would be good if the TV had other channels available for example Sky, Netflix, Amazon Prime?

Thank you for your comments which we have discussed with the owner. We are glad that you had an enjoyable holiday. Padstow is lovely, with lots of amenities nearby, things to do and places to visit. As this is a seaside cottage, some damp can be a problem, especially during colder days, so the heating needs to be kept on constantly. The dishwasher is quite technical, if you are not used to it. The housekeeper would be more than happy to help with any issues or problems you might have during your stay. The cellotaped switch on the landing is for the light in the attic, the owner is arranging to get a sticker made to make guests aware. There are spare light bulbs in the property and the housekeeper would have been happy to help. The rubbish is collected by a private company and there have been no previous issues with them, they may have been later collecting the rubbish especially during these difficult times. Lovely garden with fantastic views and a few minutes walk from the Harbour. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this house again in the future and will recommend to friends and family. The whole family didn’t want to leave. We had a lovely breakfast at Greens, followed by crazy golf and then a boat ride on the Jubilee Queen - very enjoyable. The property

The fishing port of Padstow is home to this wonderful property, Beachcomber, a delightful cottage boasting sideways views of the Camel Estuary from the master bedroom; this is a great spot to base yourself for a trip to Cornwall.

Suitable for a larger family because of its spacious rooms and several bedrooms, or a group of friends having a break from the city for some sea air, whatever your reason you will love this homely property.

Benefiting from a consistent sea themed colour scheme with sky blues, sandy creams and classic polished wood, the sitting room is a truly serene room where you can relax after a day of adventure.

For rustling up some delightful meals head into the kitchen and have your partner keep you company sitting at the dining table with a glass of wine, while you use the various quality appliances in your cooking process.

To the rear of the property an enclosed terraced garden with raised deck area gives glimpses of the estuary over surrounding rooftops.

Head upstairs to discover three lovely bedrooms which include a super-king-size, a twin room and a bunk room, suiting many different party types.

Serving these rooms are two bathrooms, one of which lies on the ground-floor, a shower room, and on the first-floor a family bathroom benefiting from a bath and a separate shower.

When you're not concerned about cooking, you'll have the perfect excuse to eat out and what better place to go than Stein's Fish & Chips, just a short walk away from your doorstep, before taking an evening stroll around the harbour.

Hop onto the South West Coastal path and walk up to Harbour Cove and enjoy a day at the beach, and around midday carry on up toward the nearby tea rooms for a spot of lunch and tea.

Of course you can do more walking than that with the path continuing the length of the coast, how far you go is your choice, but you are guaranteed to see some breathtaking views and even spot some natural wildlife.

Beachcomber is a brilliant holiday home to come back to after each day of adventure with your loved ones.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
