  • "Fantastic property with everything we needed ."

Good location to explore from . Lovely and clean , well maintained.

  • "The property starts it is near a beach."

A car is necessary and this is not clear on the list. The property is quite near St Merryn village and whilst it's within walking distance (allowing for fitness) there is no pedestrian footpath, hence, a car is again necessary. The property itself was very good.

  • "The accommodation had everything we needed."

The back garden is enclosed and ideal for dogs. It’s a great base for visiting the surrounding areas. The site has 2 bars and a shop. When we visited the shop, it was waiting for delivery and it seemed quite pricey. There are supermarkets nearby which are cheaper. Both pubs were welcoming but we had a fantastic time at The Beeches pub. Food was delicious and the staff were fantastic.

  • "The property is clean, the beds are comfortable, there is everything you need in the kitchen, however… Do not book unless someone is at least 5ft 6in and able bodied, the cupboards are so high you will struggle if you are short."

There’s a step in the shed apparently, but not sure how safe this fix is? The tv in the conservatory didn’t work, there’s no remote for the tv in the twin room, the kitchen sink drain smells terrible. The cupboard door in the conservatory comes off if you catch it (my dog caught his bottom on it so I had to try to fix the already broken hinge). The loo seat is loose, tried to fix this too but think it needs replacing. Then there’s the front door. The moment there is any warm/sunny weather it sticks to the point it feels like it’s going to completely come off. Overall it just feels a little unloved, which is a shame as it’s ideally positioned for the gorgeous north Cornish coast. So whilst we enjoyed our stay we wouldn’t return to this property.

Hello Karen , Thankyou for leaving a review on the website, we are disappointed that your holiday wasn’t as expected and would like to explain the amount of investment and physical hard work that has gone into creating what we think is a beautiful Cornish holiday home . We have invested some £15000 in refurbishment and literally months of hard work through the winter months . I am a builder by trade and have fitted countless kitchens and if anything the wall units are set at a lower height than usual. Unfortunately your dog leaning on the cupboard door broke , but has been fine up until your holiday for some 25 years. Basically we would like to say please don’t book with us again . Regards Property Owner

  • "The garden was full of leaves and branches (when we arrived, not after the storm), the front door kept sticking - due to loose screws in the woodwork surrounding the door mat, and the pump to the bathroom basin kept sticking and so was noisy."

All of this won’t stop me going to the cottage again, but hopefully the feedback will help the owners to action repairs. Other than the above, the holiday home was well located and had everything we needed for our stay.

  • "Nice clean property but bed was uncomfortable and sofa was too no coastal path walks which was a shame"

  • "Beachcombers was excellent and there were some minor improvements on last year."

The main double bed had been replaced and the old mattress replaced which was excellent. Spotlessly clean as previously and no other issues. The hot water boost switches were simple and easy to use which are fully understandable in the current energy climate and the addition of Wi-Fi this year was an added bonus. Overall an excellent stay and we will definitely be back again.

  • "This property is an ideal place to stay in Cornwall."

It was lovely, clean and comfortable. Definitely a home away from home.

  • "Overall this is a lovely property in a great location just a few miles outside Padstow."

St Merryn is just a mile or so away, however due to the lack of footpaths its not a walkable journey. Propoery is located on a holiday park which gives good access to a large shop. One small thing would be that the hot water is on a boost button, and it took us a day or so and a few cold showers to figurr it out. So clesrer instructions would have been helpful. Other than rhat a lovely place and would definitely visit again.

  • "Very well equipped."

The beds were so comfortable it was home from home. Really lovely bungalow. The only improvement would be asking the owners of the bungalow opposite to prune two enormous Ash trees that are blocking the afternoon / evening sunshine from the garden.
