    "We had a lovely week at Pheasant view."

    It was a perfect location for exploring Cornwall. Spotlessly clean and perfectly equipped. Very comfortable cosy cottage. Pub two doors away very nice with lovely food (and great cider!). The weather wasn’t kind to us, but it didn’t stop us exploring. We would highly recommend Pheasant View. A small down side was that there wasn’t an enclosed garden for the dog, would have been an issue if the weather had been good as we couldn’t leave the door open. Not great if your dog is an escape artist! Other than that, we had a fabulous week.

    "This property is clean and very well presented."

    It is also very well equipped with everything you would need during your stay. Being just a few minutes outside Truro you are very close to the centre whilst being in a quiet rural location. The owner was very friendly and helpful but respected our privacy at all times. The location was perfect for us as we used it as a base to visit different places and you are pretty central to many parts of Cornwall.

    "Such a comfy well presented cottage."

    Ideal for many beaches only 1/2 hr away. Petrol station and pub on the doorstep. National trust properties close by. Peaceful evenings listening to owls, sheep and yes pheasants! Dog walks literally on the doorstep. We made use of the garden in front of the owners cottage but there were enough places to take the dogs without worrying. A week blessed with sunshine everyday made it for us

    "Great location, very clean and modern annex with parking."

    The only downside was the lack of any enclosed garden for our dog or for us to sit.I think the picture of the garden in the brochure is a little deceiving as the garden looks enclosed but is the front garden that belongs to the main house rather than the annex. Could do with a couple of casserole type dishes in the kitchen Overall it was adequate for a short stay.

    Thank you for your review, however I don’t think you read the welcome pack-where it clearly states that the front garden and seating area is for the guests of the annex to use as they wish. It is not misleading description, it does not say it is fully enclosed garden, this could have easily been confirmed by calling Sykes, I take onboard your comments re casserole dish, best wishes Property Owner

    "I had a lovely time in the wonderful Pheasant's View."

    The space was modern and clean and clearly built with love. It was the perfect starting point for some adventures with my dogs. Thank you for the small, thoughtful moments - such as the milk in the fridge and the ginger biscuits. I would highly recommend staying in this wonderful cottage.

    As older people we found the couch a little too low and difficult to get out of. The bed on the other hand was extremely comfortable, and all facilities excellent. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed her stay too!

Located in the Cornish village of Penelewey near Carnon Downs is Pheasant View, a delightful, one-bedroom annexe.

Ideal for a couple and their furry companions, Pheasant View offers a well-positioned abode for exploring both the coast and countryside, nestled near the breath-taking waters of River Fal.

Benefit from one off-road parking space, before stepping indoors to be greeted by an open-plan living space; here you can rustle up romantic meals for two, dine together, and unwind in front of the wood effect fire after an action-packed itinerary of sightseeing.

As day turns into night, climb into the sumptuous king size bed, awakening to a refreshing shower in the sleek en-suite.

If you can tear yourself away, head to The Punchbowl and Ladle to sample some local fare and enjoy a tipple, whilst a convenience store rests in nearby Playing Place, where you can stock up on the essentials to enjoy a relaxing night in.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy discovering Loe Beach or trailing the grounds of Trelissick Garden, a National Trust landmark.

CARNON DOWNS

Truro 3.5 miles; Falmouth 8 miles.

The lovely Cornish village of Carnon Downs offers a shop, Post Office and pub. Not too far away is the village of Portreath with its sandy beach, whilst the city of Truro and the popular town of Falmouth are within easy reach by car as is the north and south coastline with its sandy beaches, ideal for those wishing to surf or walk the coastpath. Fans of classic cars will enjoy a visit to Perranwell Station which gives you the opportunity to hire a Morgan car for the day. Also nearby in the Bissoe Valley is Bissoe Bike Hire where you can hire a bike and enjoy the sights of the old mining works and beautiful wooded valleys as you cycle coast to coast from Portreath to Devoran or just enjoy a snack in the café. Cornwall’s only city, Truro has a magnificent cathedral, the Royal Cornwall Museum, the Hall for Cornwall, which is a theatre and concert venue, as well as a number of shops, pubs and restaurants. In Falmouth you will find a natural harbour - the third largest in the world. Here you will find boat trips up the Carrick Roads, safe beaches, the National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle, which was built by Henry VIII and is the town’s most popular attraction. For garden lovers, there is not only The Lost Gardens of Heligan, but Trelissick, Trebah and Glendurgan, all of which are nearby. A short trip across the King Harry Ferry will take you to the beautiful Roseland Peninsular which is well worth a visit. With the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and Land’s End within driving distance makes Carnon Downs a convenient base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
