The Hideaway

The inside of the property is light and modern with comfortable furniture and excellent kitchen equipment.

We especially loved sitting in the garden area with welcoming shade as it was very hot. As gardeners ourselves we saw the owners love of their garden. A perfect quiet location for reaching lots of Cornwalls treasures. Hosts were next door and friendly but not intrusive. We would recommend with confidence.

Accommodation was outstanding including Cornish cream tea. On site parking was a god send as you can park right outside the accommodation which was very clean, tidy and everything required was there. Would strongly recommend to anyone as close to St Austell and Newquay. VEry relaxing atmosphere which made a great start to our holiday. Thank you Richard and Judy

The Hideaway is the perfect holiday home.

It has everything you need with lots of space. The bed was a delight, lovely & big so you can crash after a hard day walking around beautiful Cornwall. It is in an ideal spot so you can easily visit all around the county. Richard & Judy are wonderful hosts. They’re around if you need them & left us a tasty cream tea on arrival with some milk to get us off to a wonderful holiday.

Ideal location for exploring South Cornwall

This was our 3rd stay at The Hideaway and we had a very enjoyable and relaxing week.

The owners, Richard and Judy are very accommodating and strive to make sure that your stay runs without any problems. As usual a cream tea of scones, jam and clotted cream was left for us on arrival. The Hideaway is the most perfect holiday getaway.

Ideally situated in Cornwall for visits to major attractions. Beautifully renovated with a comfortable lounge, very well equipped kitchen and great wet room. The bed is large and extremely comfortable. There is nothing we could fault at all. The garden is beautiful with wonderful flowers and plants and an excellent outdoor seating area. Richard and Judy are so helpful and on hand to assist with anything from places to visit to local eating place. We had a wonderful 2 week stay and recommend The Hideaway without hesitation. 10/10 !

Absolutely perfect and fabulous.

Hosts met us with cream tea and just couldn’t seem do enough for us during our stay. Spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need including an air fryer. The garden was outstanding resulting a most tranquil vacation.

Very comfortable cottage and ideal location for exploring South Cornwall.

Richard and Judy are excellent hosts. The cream tea on arrival and daily fires in the log burner were very welcome additions.

This was our 2nd stay at the Hideaway and we have enjoyed it every much as we did the first time.

The house is perfectly equipped and comfortable, Richard and Judy and their brother and sister in law were perfect hosts and made sure everything was ok, we were even welcomed with a cream tea which was lovely. The cottage is perfectly placed to explore both coast lines of Cornwall. We ventured to some new places this time and visited Fowey and Port Issac as well as some old favourites- Looe, Mevagissy, Charlestown, Newquay, Padstow, Perranporth and St Ives.

Warm welcome on arrival.

The cream tea on arrival was a wonderful thought with home made jam. Richard and Judy could not of done more to make our stay perfect. The Hideaway was beautiful and cosy. The log fire on a cold night was a real treat. The hideaway is set in beautifully landscaped gardens with many flowers and seating areas which, we made full use of. A great base for visiting every part of Cornwall. Richards extensive knowledge of the roads and weather essential. We couldnt think of anything to improve our stay. Thank you so much! We had everything we could possibly need. And the bed is the most comfortable that we have ever slept in. And the host were very welcoming and went above and beyond for us. We would like to say a very big thank you.

Friendly hosts and nice comfortable property.

Good location for travel around Cornwall: we visited 12 different locations in our week there. Theres a nice pub and local store a 15 minute walk away.

Richard and Judy were wonderful hosts. They both welcomed us on arrival and Richard gave us tour around the property and made sure we were all settled in. Lovely cream tea left in the fridge for us on arrival. What a wonderful touch. Such a great base for touring both North and South Cornwall. Next time we are in Cornwall we would have no hesitation in booking The Hideaway Cottage. We were really sad to leave.

Richard and Judy are lovely people and great hosts with welcome greeting when we arrived and Cornish cream tea with home made jam in fridge (Jam first then clotted cream) Mollie was lovely and greeted us every day.

A good location for visiting the area, well equipped and comfortable accommodation. Perfect for a couple.

Enjoyed the week comfort and quiet hosts are very helpful polite and friendly loved sitting outside in the sun molly visited us every day there dog for which she got a treat hideaway very comfy and well equipped kitchen bed is Queen Anne very comfy short journey to places of interest nice pub down the road

We have had the most wonderful time it was just what we needed the owners and this property are fantastic thank you so much for our wonderful visit

Lovely stay at The Hideaway.

Place is a great size with kitchen that supplies everything, enabling good home cooked meals whilst staying. Pictures shown are all of the property, bedroom has door as does the living /dining room. External bedroom door has lock and key with pull down blind so private and secure. No need to use it though as can access bedroom through property. Our hosts were friendly and quiet. Avaliable for any help or questions but otherwise kept to themselves. Great location on bus route to Truro and St Austell with bus stop 3 minutes walk away from property. Will stay here again and will recommend to friends and family.

The cottage is comfortable, with everything that you could need and the owners were very welcome and helpful. The location was perfect for exploring both coasts of Cornwall.

The cottage is amazing. Extremely comfortable, everything and more you would need for a break away from home. Bedroom is very comfortable. Property is very quiet. Julia, Richard and their little dog Molly , were lovely hosts. It was like returning home each day to friends. The location is perfect. Lots of walks for our little dog.

The Hideaway is a comfortable, cozy, well situated cottage.

Even though it is quite close to the A390, it is quiet, it is lovely to sit in the garden with a cuppa. The matress in the bedroom is extremely comfortable, the towels beautifully soft. We were greeted with a cream tea on arrival which was much appreciated. The owners are caring people who made sure that our stay was as pleasant as possible.

Owners were lovely. Ideal place to stay with perfect location close to my favourite place, Mevagissey. Had everything I needed for a perfect getaway. Would definitely return.
