Bahari

There was only the two of us, so we were really spoilt by the size and location of the fabulous property.

Location was great, very quiet, head of a cul de sac. Driveway parking for two vehicles. Secure garden for children, or for us, for our two dogs who loved the fact they could charge about on the spacious lawns. The property is well cared for in a comfortable way, without making you uncomfortable by being overly refurbed. Very spacious bedrooms doubles and king sized rooms. Separate bathroom and shower room, all very well appointed. Kitchen units/worktops are a little dated, but perfectly functional and comes with every appliance you will ever need. There is also a further cloakroom off the side entrance hall. As a retired estate/letting agent of 40 years I can’t help myself by just listing a few areas that you should attend to, before they get any worse, these are not in anyway detrimental to staying at the property. There are two blown tiles by the double light switch in the kitchen, which are very close to falling off. Tiles above the dishwasher are cracked and look close to falling off from ceiling level which might not be too good if they fell on a person. The ceiling above the dishwasher is showing early signs of damp/minor roof leak, maybe around flashing of the old chimney area above. Hope you don’t mind these comments, they are in no way a complaint of any sort. We both loved staying at the property.

Warm and comfortable bungalow with our most important holiday requirements met of comfortable bed and good shower.

Also to have a large enclosed garden for our pooch. Sitting room very cosy and good size tv for those evenings indoors after a days of long hiking. The bathrooms seem to have been recently upgraded, but unusal that there was no 2 pin socket fanywhere or recharging our toothbrushes (or for those needing it for shavers). Would have been useful to have had a shelf or equivalent in shower cubicle for shower gel and shampoo etc. Great to have an air fryer there (our first use of one!) Very quick and convenient to use, a must I would think for anyone renting out their accommodation, saving on electricity costs and oven cleaning time. All in all, we had a lovely stay at Bahari and would definitely book again.

Very comfortable and spacious accommodation with a lovely garden.

Safe for children. Will definitely book this again. FYI The extractor fan in the shower room continues to run for about 50 mins after it's turned off, can be noisy at night and probably needs adjusting. The one in the bathroom for less than 5 mins!

Our first time staying in Bahari and it exceeded our expectations.

So spacious - two of the three bedrooms are huge! Comfortable lounge with lots of room to sprawl, lovely outside seating area that is a real suntrap and the shower over the bath is extremely powerful. Our only suggestion would be to install a larger fridge! For 6 people the fridge isn't really big enough. We picked up our food shop on our way into Rock and found we couldn't fit all our chilled food in there. I even assumed it was an extra fridge and was looking for the main one! Other than that, a lovely stay in a lovely property. (You're still listing DVD player and there isn't one!)

Had a lovely stay at Bahari…great bungalow with everything we needed for our stay.

Garden is beautiful, perfect size for our doggie! Showers amazing and beds really comfy. Nice size lounge too. I completed 2 puzzles while there which were in cupboard. Books available too but didn’t have time to read any. Social club nearby was very friendly and accommodating! Would love to return to Bahari!

We had a great week again at Bahari.

It was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. We were able to use the lovely patio furniture as the weather was hot. The showers were excellent . We did mention when we last stayed that the cupboard over the breakfast bar has very sharp corners and could benefit from corner cushions ( the sort used to protect babies) and my brother managed to hit his head twice on them! The cold tap in the kitchen has a loud whistle and I think needs a washer replaced. It's loud enough to wake people up! We will definitely book Bahari again and feel it is being very well maintained generally. Thank you

We had a most comfortable and spacious time at the bungalow and thought it was very well maintained Also a lovely area to explore and plenty of great walks and outstanding views 3 Adults and 3 dogs all very much enjoyed their stay THANKS

We had a comfortable week at Bahari.

Beds were comfy and showers very good. Rest of the house was a little tired and old fashioned but location was very good. We found a cut through walk to Porthilly and Rock from the house which was a bonus with the dog. Maybe next year the sun loungers could be replaced as they are looking a bit dirty and sad. I'm sure the owners will carry a bit of maintenance work during the winter as there are a few loose slates on garden wall and a large hole in the patio. Not great if you have small children. Overall we enjoyed our week.

It’s a really nice home.

Nice quiet area. Sadly the garden furniture is old and damage and no gates down side of property. The kitchen needs updating and probably a clean. I understand things cost money. the cost of renting the property reflects in what the property is like.

Absolutely loved this property great position, quiet road.

Rock is a great area to visit amazing beaches and local places of interest Would recommend and return It does need secure gates either side of the property as it is dog friendly, and you do have to supply all your own linen and towels.

Really great house, very spacious, super comfy beds, big garden, had everything we needed.

Just disappointed to find no hot tub after it was the first thing listed on the website! Would go again, we really enjoyed our stay and the location was great.

Excellent location in quiet peaceful surroundings.

The property is deceptively large with huge bedrooms and great outdoor space including garage space which we used to store our bikes and kayaking gear. The refurbished bathrooms are lovely and the big wide bath is a real treat. The kitchen is in need of refurbishment as are some of the double glazed windows which have condensation in them. Outdoor furniture was in a poor state with flaking paint and the table/chair set was covered in cobwebs. Overall a great property in need of a bit of TLC.

Bahari is great for us.

The second time we have used the house. It’s in a great location, has great space inside and out and the use of the garage is very handy for storage of all the beach stuff! Yes, (as mentioned in other reviews) some parts of the property isn’t the most modern but it is clean and tidy and we find it is all part of the charm and what attracted us to a second visit within a year. Rock is a great place for direct access to the beach, or seeking out other beaches within a short drive. Highly recommend!

Decent location but in need of modernisation!

Not really child friendly due to sharp slate. Unfortunately, we had an horrendous week at Bahari! The boiler had a leak and the whole house stank… For 5 nights!! Even struggled to sleep properly. We were offered a maximum of 10% refund. Definitely would NOT stay again nor recommend it. It appears the owners care more about making money than the holidaymakers care. Sorry

This was our second time staying in Bahari and we really appreciated the improvements, particularly the seating in the lounge and the new bathrooms.

The house is very comfortable and cosy and has a lovely atmosphere. A couple more side tables in the lounge would be useful for putting drinks on but we used the lamp tables. Some hooks on the curtains in the Kingsize bedroom need replacing and the duvet in the double bedroom is torn. My brother would have found a grab rail on the outside wall by the steps useful, tho they were fine for me! I would like to thank Paul at John Bray for his assistance with a request we made. We had a lovely holiday. Thank you.

Spacious and comfortable property.

Living room is a good size, with a modern TV and good WiFi speed. Lots of hot water available throughout our stay too. However the property is in need of TLC throughout, the bathrooms look like they have been recently refurbished but the paint is already peeling in places.All bedrooms are in serious need of a lick of paint and general modernisation. The mattress in the main bedroom was also larger than the actual divan bed base, so the mattress sagged along one side! Garden furniture was in a poor state, dirty and really needs to be replaced ASAP. There was also a general musty/damp smell in the snug room and kitchen, which maybe points towards larger damp issues.Especially backed by the fact there was a 'damp catcher' device hanging up in the snug room!

Lovely spacious property.

Enjoyed the new bathrooms. My only reservation was the carpeting, especially at entrance and in the 'extra' sitting room. It gave off a musty smell.

Even though we had a good holiday in Bahari we were surprised to find two bags of dirty laundry in the porch.

It had been there since Easter and we think that that must be the last time that the property had been checked as the outdoor furniture needed a clean and the lawns had not been mown. Also the fridge freezer in the garage was unplugged and filthy. This was not a good start to our holiday. We reported these things to the Jon Bray office. The laundry was eventually collected on Saturday but the grass was not cut until Tuesday. We had already washed down the outdoor chairs etc. and also the fridge freezer. This was the third time that we had stayed in Bahari and have also stayed in several Jon Bray properties previously but this is the first time that we have had to complain.

Bahari, is let down by it need for a update of its furniture and beds.

Also kitchen equipment is lacking

We were fortunate we had good weather as we were able to open doors and windows to mitigate smell of damp and mould as you enter the property. House badly needs updating. Kitchen equipment is old and poor quality. Cooker rusted. Tumble dryer unusable because of smell. Only half size dishwasher. Beds and living room furniture old and need updating. Shower squeals when used and leaked onto floor. Thought it odd they ask for £200 bond where our previous week at the lovely and well equipped Willowbrook did not. On the plus side nice quiet road and lovely garden.

Another great week in Rock only slightly let down by the accommodation.

Bahari Is a VERY spacious bungalow, but in need of some further updating. Plus sides - big, spacious rooms, new bathrooms, lots of hot water, three toilets, good broadband for those that have to do work. 5 min walk to local shops and 10 min walk to the sea/beach/restaurants. Down sides. Kitchen needs an update. Oven is old, cookware is very limited. Kitchen table really flimsy, Sitting room furniture very old and uncomfortable. Bedrooms need a similar update too. Bahari Is a good home base, and with a little continued updating, it would be worth the money
