The only issue was that we had no hot water on the morning we were leaving

  • "Returning to pencreek, yet again again, always so welcoming."

simple simplicity to be homely, cosy, and comfortable for more than holiday needs. despite 25yrs of familiarity in rock (in various lets) this has been the best. being in the middle of rock makes for ease of access, shops for short term 'supplies', and to be out and about with plenty of old and new activities to be enjoyed in all cornish weathers! here's to the next time ...

Nice to have a well eqipped kitchen. Wet room and bathroom locks do not work and the main bathroom the plug does not work. The media entertainment system needs updating. The garden was superb and again well equipped. We all had a fabulous week Thank You

  • "We had a lovely stay in Pencreek."

It had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the addition of extra duvets and blankets was great. The garden was private and sunny. Maintenance points: The toilet seat in the bathroom was loose. The tiles at the base of the handbasin and toilet in the wetroom were ingrained with dirt. We managed to remove some with a mop but they really need a good scrub! Suggestions :a corner shelf in the shower area of the wetroom would be useful for shampoo etc. There is really only comfortable seating for 3 in the living room. The largest sofa needs replacing as it is very uncomfortable. As there were only 4 of us we managed by putting seat cushions from the windowsill on it. The Henry style hoover was very hard work for us oldies to use! Overall it is a really nice home, well positioned and well equipped. We would definitely come back. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted that you have a lovely stay with us at Pencreek. Thank you for raising these issues we will get the maintenance and housekeeping teams to look at these and get them sorted. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. • "Sykes did not reply to my last email question."

Sykes did not inform me of work being carried out next door before I booked. Work was even done on the Sunday morning. Woken up at 1.00am by extremely loud music from neighbour. There were only three staying, so enough room. This place is not big enough for a party of eight - seating and cooking etc. Would not book through Sykes again.

We are really sorry to hear that you havent had a reply to the email you have sent, we will follow this up internally. We are also looking into the building works you have mentioned, as we had not been aware any works would be taking place. We will contact you directly to discuss this further. – John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

I think the property could do with a bit of a over haul , some windows pains have blow and could do with replacing, also could do with frosted glass in bathrooms and in main bathroom the window position between the lounge and bathroom needs either a better blind or frosted glass , also the settee in the lounge could do with replacing a bit uncomfortable also a pizza tray would have been use full despite these few niggles the property was in an ideal location for us and we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back

Thank you so much for your feedback and we are really glad you enjoyed your stay. We have asked our maintenance team to inspect the windows and we thank for your suggestions, we have passed them onto the owner of Pencreek. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Had a great time at the property."

It had everything one would need on a holiday. There is plenty of space for two families with four double bedrooms and two toilets. Outdoor space is great and the garden room had lots of small toys and beach stuff for kids. There is bbq as well if one wants to use. Location is great too with beach being 10-15 min walk and all local amenities nearby such as bakery, butchers, Spars and fuel pump etc.. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for convenience and comfort

  • "Very nice stay."

Just a couple of points Needs new kettle. Hairdryer would have been useful. Maybe supply of linen and beds made would be good as arriving late was a bit of a nuisance with small children making up beds when tired after a long journey. Would still definitely stay again. Points made are just suggestions not complaints.

  • "We actually tried to discover something that the cottage hadn't got."

Well done to the owners. The messages that are left around the cottage with information were unexpected but brilliant. I have already recommended the cottage to my brother, again well done to the owners .

  • "The property was very spacious considering we had two families staying (4 adults, 4 kids and a baby)."

Lovely garden to play in and having two bathrooms was a bonus. There is a huge issue with ants in the kitchen (not just on the floor but on the worktops, climbing up and down cupboards/fridge/dish washer etc). Even when we first went to fill the kettle there were two floating inside it. Another let down was the fact that there's a message saying not to use wifi too much or there'll be an additional charge - in this day and age having wifi is an essential. All in all the property would have been perfect if it wasn't for the ants, which the kids kept pointing out!

Thank you for your feedback it is great to hear you all enjoyed your stay. Thank you for bringing the ants and WIFI note to our attention we will make sure they are dealt with straight away. Property Owner

  • "Superb stay at Pencreek."

..our third visit. Everything great! Would suggest that the smallest bedroom has new beds...perhaps the ones that slide under each other so that it can be a single room with more space if desired. The beds are a bit low for us oldies and the room isn't on a par with the others. Many thanks!
