West Cottage was fabulous!

Better than we expected. Everything was to such a high standard and we would love to return in the future. Will definitely recommend.

Lovely stay.

A cute cottage within walking distance to local shops such as off licenses, a butcher and baker plus gift shop.

A short drive or 1hr walk from Polzeath. The house provided all we needed for the weekend including an iron which we weren’t sure it would have. The downstairs loo is a bit odd/inconvenient if you need the loo in the night but worked for us. The rooms upstairs are comfy and well equipped. Ample driveway space for one car. Loved the artwork throughout the house! Nice, well kept garden.

We had a great stay at West Cottage, it has everything you could ask for and felt just like home.

Great location with some fantastic local shops within a few minutes walk for all your conveniences. Would highly recommend this place to stay.

Lovely cottage, well maintained and very warm.

Sheets and towels were new. Great to have gated off road parking that was useful for us as we have a dog. The beds were abit uncomfortable and very squeaky. Kitchen had everything that you could need for a stay. Cottage is conveniently close to the local shops. We’d definitely stay again,

We loved our stay at West Cottage.

The house is very comfortable and snug, great lighting and just what we wanted. Only thing to feedback on is the bathroom is very small, and one of the single beds is very squeaky!! The location is perfect with lovely shops nearby.

The cottage was beautiful inside and the heating was easily operated.

Everything was clean and bright with care taken to think of aĺl you might like and want in a holiday stay.Really well stocked kitchen.Wifi.Off road parking. We really enjoyed our stay.

It’s our second time visiting the cottage love the location and the cottage however this year a couple of little issues the outside light and the extra fan in the bathroom were not working and had problems with the lock on the door.

Didn’t distract from the holiday at all and booked again for next year.

West cottage is tastefully presented, pleasing decor / artwork in all rooms.

Downstairs bathroom is not ideal (walking through living room with a towel, and loo next to kitchen) but that can’t easily be solved. Agree with past reviews that garden needs a tidy up, apple cart needs to be emptied - otherwise rotting apples all over the garden. We didn’t have a hot shower for first few days but once I called John Bray - maintenance man was quick to arrive - pressure was low which was quickly fixed and sorted. Gardener also arrived same day and replaced dead fern trees that greeted us at the door with new planting. However, he failed to sweep up afterwards which was a little lazy - leaving soil all along the entrance. Beds were comfy nice white sheets and rooms tastefully presented. The cottage is a fair distance from the beach which I missed on booking, but it’s a lovely walk down to Rock beach. Enjoyed Mariners pub and the ferry to Padstow. Fish and chip shop a bit disappointing - recommend travelling to Port Isaac for those - much tastier. Paddle boarding in Port Gaverne was great. A lovely Cornish holiday once again.

We had a lovely stay for 3 nights with our 9 month old baby.

The location is perfect, off street parking and a nice garden. The cottage was lovely and clean, and towels provided with basics for a few days but I would recommend taking/buying some extra toilet roll and black bin bags if staying for longer. The beds were very comfortable for us, and a travel cot was available for our baby if you don't want to take your own. We had an issue with the bedroom window but this was swiftly fixed upon contacting the caretaker company so cannot fault that at all. Overall we had a fab stay and we will hope to book again for next year, highly recommend!

We have just come back from staying at west cottage.

. loved the inside of the cottage the style and decor was lovely. we felt so comfortable in the cottage, I slept better then I do at home, so even tried to see the make of the mattress.. so comfortable. Glad I read the reviews.. we took our own pillows. Glad we did as the pillows were new and very full so I bit to high for us but great for sit up in bed in the mornings. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. It’s funny how some places do welcome packs (milk/tea/coffee) but nothing at west cottage so again I’m glad we took our own like another reviewer said. The washing machine leaked abit on a cycle so we reported it, hopefully it was fixed on change over day. There was 4 of us 2 adults and two teenagers and we all had enough space.. bathroom was snug, but lovely shower and enough hot water, it really needed some more hooks to hang towels on there is only two. We had to use our bedroom doors to dry them. We also thought it needed an air dryer for inside the cottage. There is a washing line with six pegs! The outside of the cottage we thought really needed some love and didn’t reflect the inside of cottage the same. The grass was very overgrown and we did tell the office and it was then mowed the next day ( thank you) We also took our own bbq and another reviewer had mentioned it not being great. Glad we did. But there is no table outside so putting drinks and food down on the floor was annoying. So we ended up eating inside and only bbq once. But I think the thing that really let it down was the big beautiful apple tree to the entrance of the garden… rotten apple everywhere which the wasps loved, very overgrown and you have to dodge the branches to walk past, lots of weeds and brambles. When we arrived there was a big pile of sick in the garden.. we think from an animal.. not great! If we had had young children they wouldn’t have been able to use the garden… because of the grass, wasps, sick and brambles! I’m sure this isn’t usually the case. The village was perfect, the fish and chips were delicious, very busy and closes at 8pm. lovely local convincing store closes at 6pm. The bakery, butchers, fishmonger and gift shop were so useful to have on the door step too.

Overall a very enjoyable stay and in lovely Rock ,, 3, points to Mention 1, Where did those Pilows come from Very hard , rather unusual we thought.

2, No Broom or Dust Pan and Brush So could not sweep floor. 3, Patio Furniture not good, no table. 4, Barbacue very poor and Filthy Dirty.

The property was perfect for our needs and really well located opposite the local shop and chip shop.

It is worth advising stayers that there is no simple content such as coffee, tea, sugar etc... and there was practically no toilet paper and due to the local shop shutting at 6pm we had to ask at the chip shop for some...

Really fantastic accommodation.

Could not fault at all. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Great size driveway making unloading bags easy and lovely little garden. Good location also. Thank you so much.

An absolutely fantastic property, only one thing let it down, the garden furniture / barbecue cleanliness.

The cottage was amazing, really homely, it had everything you would need. It was really comfortable. The enclosed garden was fantastic for the dog. We had a fantastic time here, great location, really comfy. The garden furniture wasn’t great, one of the chairs was broken (and looks like it has been for some time), the sofa was falling apart and the cushions were water stained and dirty (cushions are in the storage box which is covered by an oversized bush / tree). The bbq was clearly used by the previous occupants and left as it had (still has as I wasn’t cleaning it for them) old charcoal and is dirty.

Really enjoyed our stay at west cottage,great location,although main road can be busy all local amenities on doorstep.

Like home from home, West Cottage was a great place to stay and explore. Promot responses were given by the company and would highly recommend.

The overall condition, comfort and cleanliness of the cottage were exactly as advertised.

It was nice to arrive in a clean and ready to use property including instructions on how to use the different white goods on site and having the out of hours number available gives you peace of mind. We made some great family memories of our visit to Cornwall and staying here just added to that. Thank You

All was very nice, clean and comfortable.

We had a lovely stay. Fish & Chip shop opposite near enough. Rock beach is lovely. Port Isaac and Boscastle definitely worth a visit.

Really enjoyed staying there. Thank you. I’m not complaining because I knew what the bathroom facilities were but for me a shower cubicle and a larger sink would be better. I understand however, that those staying who have young children may prefer a bath. It did not spoil my stay.

The cottage is very comfortable and has been furnished with great thought and style.

The cleaner had done a first rate job to make the cottage really welcoming. Just a couple of points l would like to mention. The basin is very small in the bathroom , so the kitchen sink was used instead. The rug in the hallway is rather dangerous as it slips . I would carpet the hall . My partner slipped over so we removed it for the duration of our stay. The light in the bathroom which starts the fan off is extremely loud in the room above, the main bedroom. We tended not to put it on at night as it really disturbs sleeping above. Also the pillows are extremely hard. If l am lucky to stay again l would bring my own pillow. These l know are just minor niggles. Many thanks, we had a lovely 10 days, and were very lucky with the weather.

A wonderful quaint holiday cottage which was exceptionally comfortable for my wife and l to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

Despite staying in December, the heating system certainly kept us very warm and comfortable. We would certainly stay again.

Great location-no pressure for parking spaces at the shops!

The very secure front and rear gardens were ideal for our dog, and would be for small children too. The cottage is comfortable, nicely decorated and well equipped, although the previously mentioned microwave could be a useful addition. We were pleased to see the clothes line appear part way through our stay. The downstairs bathroom wouldn't be our ideal, but was manageable.

Fab location to visit countless places in the county.

Comfortable rooms and beautifully dressed, perhaps a small hanging area in one bedroom to front, could be added? Excellent range of kitchenware and both the dishwasher and washer/dryer performed well. We christened the BBQ and ate al fresco often, using the comfy garden furniture. The local grocery shop 100 mtrs Bakery (omg so good) 200 mtrs Butchers 300 mtrs Cafe 500 mtrs What more could you need !! We will be returning for sure! * Couple of points to note, the on line details state a microwave is supplied, there was not one on our stay, this didn’t affect us but needs clarification or installing. There is a rotary washing line behind the oil tank, but we could not locate the ground spike to use it? Thankfully the washer/ dryer came to rescue.
