The property

On an elevated position overlooking Cornwall's fabulous coast, Stonecroft is a picturesque, detached bungalow resting in Praa Sands.

The holiday home offers plenty of outdoor space, contemporary amenities and welcomes two well-behaved pets for a family or group of eight to enjoy a seaside retreat.

Unload your bags at the off-road parking and take in the fresh sea air before climbing the stone steps up to your home-away-from-home.

Stock up the cupboards and American-style fridge/freezer in the well-equipped kitchen/diner, where the group's chef can whip up home-cooked meals using the electric oven, grill and induction hob, whilst the dishwasher does all the hard work; watch the waves crashing on the shore from the comfort of the dining table for eight.

After a day at the beach, throw sandy towels and bathing suits straight into the handy washing machine ready for the next day!

Find cushioned seats to sink into in the neighbouring sitting room, complete with a Smart TV for movie marathons, as well as two steps up to a light-filled space to curl up with a book or relish those mesmerising coastal views framed by a large window.

Unpack your belongings and catch your rest in one of four beautifully-presented bedrooms; a king-size offers extra privacy with an en-suite shower room, along with a double and two twins, all of which have ample storage space and homely furnishings.

Take a long, relaxing bubble bath in the snug bathroom to wash off the sand, whilst two cloakrooms are available to quickly freshen up before heading out the door.

Savour your morning coffee in the peaceful front veranda and watch the sun rise over the sea, or why make dinner an alfresco affair at the outdoor seating?

An enclosed, pet-friendly front garden offers plenty of lawn space for your canine companions to wander, whilst the rear garden is a quiet retreat to picnic on the lawn or soak up the sun.

Ideal for a family holiday in Cornwall, Stonecroft is within easy reach of Praa Sands' excellent amenities and attractions; take a break from cooking and dine at Sandbar overlooking the beach, bring your buckets and spades to the sandy beach to paddle in the sea, or pack your clubs and head to the Golf and Country Club.

Pengersick Castle is a must-see for budding historians, with a 16th-century tower, whilst Godolphin House is just north of the village, an ancient estate with a medieval garden.

Lace up your hiking boots and head west to Marazion, with paths guiding guests along dramatic coastlines to idyllic bays or take a boat ride to the fascinating St Michael's Mount, an island home to a medieval castle, Norman church and fabulous gardens.

Spend the day in Helston to soak up local history in the Museum of Cornish Life, try the local delicacy at Ann's Pasties, before heading south to Porthleven.

This wonderful coastal town offers a sandy beach to roll out your towel and soak up the sun, wander along the picture-perfect Porthleven Harbour with fish and chips, or Penrose is a quieter spot for wildlife lovers, a wooded area around Cornwall's largest natural lake to escape the hustle and bustle.

For easy access to attractions and renowned beaches, choose Stonecroft as your Cornish retreat.

About the location

PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
