  • "A pleasant, spacious, quiet and comfortable bungalow with a good bed - but there are a few things that let it down: - The lack of a "proper" shower (because of the bathroom layout and window) - this could easily be overcome with a hinged glass screen over part of the window (and additional tiling, of course) - The entrance is dark at night time and it's not easy to read the code on the keypress - fit a PIR-controlled outside light - The garden is definitely not dog-secure - fence the small stepped section of the boundary - The spotlights in the lounge are dazzling when sat on the furniture."

We overcame this by pointing the lights at the ceiling but it would be preferable to fit lighting that is more appropriate. - The entrance area smells damp and has wood lice - The house was too hot when we arrived and took a long time to cool once the storage heaters were switched off - these are less than ideal in a holiday let because of the long delay between wanting more/less heat and the response. - The bedroom curtains do not, adequately, block the light so the room becomes very bright as soon as the sun rises - a blackout blind would be a simple and low-cost solution. - There are stains on the bottom of the fridge and on two rugs, also a very small damaged area on the front of a cushion in the lounge ... but these were not noted anywhere. It would be useful to have an inventory of known snags such as these.

  • "We found Caelum to be in an ideal spot for visiting Port Isaac - only a 10 minute walk into the village down a steep hill."

We had a wonderful week there and found the bungalow to be clean, warm and spacious and there was always plenty of hot water. We would certainly recommend the property. Perhaps the bathroom could be updated at some time to provide a "b" shaped bath with screen for a shower.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Caelum."

The bungalow was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was well maintained and looked to have been recently redecorated. The location is perfect as it's in a quiet cul de sac but only a short walk to the village centre with its harbour, shops, cafes and restaurants and of course all the locations from Doc Martin! Port Gaverne is also in walking distance and it's just a short drive to Tintagel, Padstow, Rock and many other places. There is a well stocked co-op just round the corner and we found the kitchen well equipped with many pots and pans and utensils so we could easily self-cater. We really enjoyed the garden complete with picnic bench and sea views, perfect for my morning coffee! The Wifi was excellent, useful as phone signal is sketchy in Cornwall, and with 3 TVs in the property we were able to enjoy streaming a movie or 2 in the evening. We would certainly revisit and would recommend this property to others.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback on your recent stay at Caelum. We are so glad you enjoyed your and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. John Brays Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

  • "Considering we only booked this bungalow a week before our arrival, everything was spotless."

The cream carpet in the lounge was thick and comfortable underfoot and very clean as were all the carpets throughout. The beds are very comfortable. We did take our own linen. It was nice to have a king size bed, as many holiday let's only have doubles! The kitchen has everything you need and it was nice to have a decent size TV, though Port Isaac isn't brilliant for receiving many channels and no mobile reception, which wasn't an issue for us. The internet pass word in the welcome pack doesn't work but when we called into John Bray, just down the road, they gave us a password that worked. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely bungalow. It is our second time and we will be back.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to feedback on your stay and for your kind words! We are so glad to hear that you had such a lovely stay at Caelum, We have since amended the WIFI password in the welcome folder for future reference so thankyou for bringing that to our attention. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. It requires a good deep clean inside and general maintainence outside and some TLC.

The property has recently had its annual deep clean, we are working with the owners to ensure the property is maintained to a high standard for the season ahead. • "Still can’t believe they have not fitted a shower curtain as it’s impossible to use hand shower without making a mess."

Also elderly people may find it difficult to get out of bath ( no hand rails) Also outside paved areas full of moss from roof and an outside light at the front would be useful. After saying all that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the place very comfortable and roomy.

It was great to welcome you back to Caelum, we are glad to hear you had a comfortable stay. Your comments have been fed back to the owner so they can review the issue you raised with the shower curtain and paved outside area. We hope to see you back at Caelum again soon! - John Bray Cornish Holiday's on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

  • "Some doors single toilet are difficult to open."

Main entrance very old and needs updating . Door etc. Moss on roof causing water to over flow when heavy rain. Property needs updating in general . Aside that spacious comfortable and good location

Thank you for taking your time to leave your comments following your stay at Caelum. I am sorry to hear you had some difficulty with the doors had this been raised at the time our maintenance team could have attended straight away, we will ensure these are looked at now we are aware. We are working with the owners to ensure the property is maintained to a high standard so we will raise your comments about the main entrance for them to review. We have had the moss cleared from the gutters so there should be no overflow when it rains thank you again for brining this to our attention. • "Lovely property thank you very much!"

My only issue was no shower curtain for the over the bath shower which made it difficult to shower without getting water on the floor.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay at Caelum. We have passed your comments onto our maintenance team about the shower curtain. We hope to welcome you back to north Cornwall in the future. Property Owner

  • "We had a great holiday in your bungalow, it was nice and clean and central to all locations, would recommend to others and the only thing that would be a big positive is a proper shower."

that would be a big plus to the property.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay and had the perfect base to explore the local area from. We are afraid that the bath and the surrounding walls are not designed to double as a shower, meaning this is something that cannot be added to the property. However, we are so happy you had a lovely time and look forward to hopefully welcoming you back in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely, clean and feeling like home."

Very close to Port Isaac beach and amazing views. The only inconvenience was that it doesn’t provide towels and bedding and having a small car, these things took a big room. Otherwise, everything was great. The listing wasn’t very clear, it needs more photos. I couldn’t access the pictures from my phone, but luckily we didn’t have any bad surprises. When we got in we had a “ wow” moment.

  • "Very functional bungalow in an area of Port Isaac that is very accessible, helped by the driveway which provides easy parking."

The property felt extremely clean on our arrival and the lovely welcome pack was a wonderful added extra and one we enjoyed eating the contents of very much. Although the property doesn't have a stand up shower the shower over the bath was more than adequate, great pressure and always lovely warm water even after multiple back to back uses, My recommendations for improvement would be a tumble dryer/heated airer to be at the property to ensure wet clothes/towels can be dried easily. I would definitely book this property again!

Thank you so much for your feedback and suggestions. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner
