  • "This was our first stay at Gulland and we were very impressed."

    Decor and facilities bang on. Views and constant sea noises excellent. Garage - I could fit my Yaris Gr CPack in but I had taken the garage width details before. Very handy for the golden lion pub, mote restaurant and shops in the village. We will be back.

  • "When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with how it looked and the stunning views of the harbour out of the windows was something else The whole property is value for money, The only thing that visitors have to remember is the steps to the property as well as the garage, we have a Ford Kuga and it just fits in, I found it easier to reverse in and keep the passenger side really close to the wall to allow enough room to get out of the car."

  • "Gulland is a fantastic apartment in Port Isaac with incredible sea views."

    We found the apartment to be very comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated, cosy yet spacious. The owner had carefully thought of the needs of holidaymakers. The location was also great, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, pubs, the beach and coastal walks etc. A real gem.

  • "What a lovely stay we had at Gulland and a pleasure to meet Pat when we arrived."

    The thoughtfulness put into the provision of items within the apartment showed signs of someone who has spent time considering what visitors might need. This is an excellent location where many hours can be spent watching the sea. Great restaurants within an easy walking distance. Our favourites were Outlaw’s New Road and Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen, but we also had good food at The Mote on the Platt and at Pilchards in Port Gaverne. Seeing the Fishermen Friends singing was an unexpected treat. The garage is large enough for a new model Kia Soul and the nearest carpark having EV charges which could be used via the SWARCO app was a bonus.

  • "Lovely stay - apartment is well equipped and very well maintained and clean."

    Pat was a kind and considerate owner and very helpful. We did struggle to find it as we arrived later than planned and after dark. Advice to future holidaymakers do not use sat nav in car or phone - it will take you to the footpath instead of the road. Trust the What 3 Words app. It will take you there - along a private road- but you are going the right way!

    The views were wonderful even during the stormy weather! Plenty space to move around and everything we could ask for. The apartment is beautifully decorated, very coastal, in keeping with the surroundings. Booking on a Thursday to Thursday worked out very well for our travelling.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Gulland."

    The views and position are spectacular. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and had many new items. Nothing was worn or shabby. Parking on the local streets was possible in May. We had to go to the John Bray office to ask for directions to find Gulland which would have been easy if directions using private restricted roads had been given.

  • "Gulland is great."

    perfect location with wonderful views and proximity to restaurants & Port Isaac (& Port Gaverne) itself. Well appointed property. Managed to get a large Volvo into the Garage contrary to the warning on the website. One small/minor suggestion would be to have slightly less crockery/utensils in the kitchen to make a little space for guest food/drinks etc....but that really is 'nit-picking' as the kitchen contains everything required for a stay. We had a great stay and will definitely book a return.

The property

Gulland is a fabulous, first-floor apartment enjoying nestled on the coast in Port Isaac, Cornwall.

Showcasing stunning views of the beach and sea, whilst being a frontline property with a large cliff top garden, Gulland is the perfect stay for three adults.

After parking in the handy garage, make your way up the stairs to find a well-presented living/dining room, a space featuring stylish timber walls that behold dual-aspect windows for you to marvel at those glorious views with; the space is also home to a plush sofa that rests in front of the Smart TV, making for an ideal relaxation space.

The kitchen hosts all the appliances you require to fix up mouthwatering meals with, to be enjoyed at the living/dining room's table; why not crack open a bottle of wine and make a toast to this enviable, seaside escape?

As day turns to night, choose between two bedrooms to sleep in, with one being a double and the other being a single; both bedrooms provide you with storage, so you can easily pack your things away.

The bedrooms share a shower room, a space enjoying a coastal theme and is a great spot to wash away the day in!

In the morning, savour a steaming cup of morning coffee or tea in the garden, as you soak in the sea breeze.

Head into the pretty village of Port Isaac, for an outing packed with exploring the independent shops, eateries, including two restaurants by Nathan Outlaw, as well as sunbathing on the village's beautiful beaches and walking through the nearby, coastal scenery along the South Western Coastal Path.

Polzeath is just moments away and is home to a gorgeous beach resting on Hayle Bay, where you can catch the sun's rays, surf and beachcombe to your heart's content; finish the day off with a bite to eat at one of the eateries inhabiting the village, including Surfside and Oystercatcher.

Padstow also makes for a great day out and is bound to appease those aquatic fans of the group, as it is home to the renowned National Lobster Hatchery, along with hosting Padstow Sealife Safaris.

There is plenty more to see in the wider area, from Trevathan Farm Shop and St. Enodoc Golf Course to the beautiful bays of Lundy and Epphaven.

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
