The little garden up behind was great too for sitting out away from the courtyard. We always looked forward to coming home after a day out as we knew we’d be warm and super comfy. And that’s without the heating on. If there is one thing, ( and this is nit picking) a towel radiator in bathroom just to dry the towels would have been great. So homely , parking is a massive advantage as Port Isaac has limited space . PORT Issac itself is quaint but with so few pubs or restaurants you need to book places before you travel . The Old School House restaurant was a fantastic meal if a little piece. Plenty of places to visit within 10 miles . Tintangel,Wadebridge, Boscastle all with visiting . Just over the top of the hill is PORT Gaverne which has an amazing beach and 2 great pubs , and you get a free Tuk Tuk back up the hill in the evening. All in all a fantastic holiday .Mary is very responsive to all messages . No WIFI in the cottage if that suits you but you can get it in pubs .

  • "The cottage was very well fitted out, with everything to self cater, even down to a pizza cutter."

Great care had been taken to help guests work the TV, Satellite tuner, DVD player, kitchen and bathroom equipment and the storage radiators. There were boxes of games, jigsaws, recent DVDs and some music CDs etc for relaxation. Pots of flowers welcomed us to the property and there was also a private garden area behind the property, though other than an initial exploration, it wasn't warm enough to enjoy that. It was clear that the owner wanted everything to go well for the holiday, with information on local walks, maps and leaflets for sight-seeing. Port Isaac is a charming unspoilt fishing village, and much as I remember from my first visit 60 years ago, even with the 'Doc Martin' connection of recent years.

  • "We were thrilled to find the Keep Pot at Port Isaac beautifully decorated with little touches all around, making it so comfortable to come back to each day."

The owner had thought of everything, eg torch, pen & paper, and had left full instructions for working everything. Moreover, she was kindly in touch with us at any time - and has even send us a parcel with a few things we had inadvertently left behind. We can't remember a better cottage we have ever stayed in.

The property

The Keep Pot is a 19th century, end of terrace, former fisherman's cottage set into the hillside overlooking the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac.

The cottage has been completely renovated and refurbished to create a stylish holiday retreat for two.

From the first floor windows, there are glimpses of the sea, which are echoed inside in the Keep Pot's blue and white decor.

A wood burning stove creates a warm and ambient atmosphere in the spacious lounge whilst the adjacent kitchen/diner is smart and well equipped.

On the first floor there a small snug, where you can read quietly in a comfy chair.

A private parking space for one car is tucked at the front of the cottage, together with a small patio seating area.

Accessed via a small lane at the rear of the cottage is a small decked area with a table and chairs, and a further garden area with a shed, ideal for drying wet suits or storing bicycles.

The Keep Pot is the perfect spot to simply lock up the car and enjoy all that this enchanting village has to offer on foot.

The Coast Path is a mere 75 yards away and the nearby narrow streets lead you down through the village with its many pubs, cafes and shops to the fishing harbour below.
