Kernow Cottage

We had a fantastic week.

Kernow Cottage was perfect for our needs. Very comfortable, quiet surroundings and just 2 minutes walk from the harbour and shops. Having an easy parking space was extremely helpful.

The cottage was perfect in every way, due to delayed flight we only arrived at 10pm and the welcome pack of tea,coffee, milk & biscuits was very much appreciated.

There was everything we needed in the cottage and was very comfy, beautifully clean, bonus was having our own car park space and just a short walk to the harbour. Loved all the local information leaflets and reading about the personal history of the cottage family. We really didn't want to leave and hopefully will be back next year. Thank you so much

Another, very enjoyable stay

This was our 5th stay at Kernow Cottage.

As the years before, we felt comfortable and right at home. The new heating works fine. The only we we have would be a shower instead of the bath tub and it would be perfect. Thank you to owners Lynne and Andy for keeping the cottage in a very well maintained state. We will definitely be back in 2026.

We have just returned from our second stay at the fabulous Kernow Cottage .

The house itself has a modern appearance and has the huge advantage of having secure off road parking which is a rarity in Porthleven. Inside it is tastefully decorated in keeping with its heritage and its history can be found in the information booklet. The location couldn’t be any better . A two minute walk down a footpath brings you into the village and the harbour is another minutes walk away . On arrival the cottage was spotless and has all the items you need during your stay including towels , cleaning goods , bin bags and even some hand wash in the bathrooms. The welcome pack of milk and biscuits was also a lovely touch. Prior to our arrival we were kept fully informed with all the necessary information by the owners . Porthleven is such a wonderful place to stay and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Kernow Cottage . We hope to return for a third visit in the not to distant future .

Brilliant location.

Loved that the cottage had everything we needed for the stay, tea, coffee, salt pepper and all appliances. Washing machine was a lifesaver. We loved staying here, thank yo. Only downfall was dirty towel and clothes left in bedroom.

A lovely holiday home from home.

The history of the cottage was very interesting to read. We had all that we needed and very comfortable. Very central to the harbour and village and having a parking space was brilliant!! We hope to stay again next year but for 2 weeks!

Kernow is a great little cottage only a couple of minutes walk from Portleven's lovely harbour, and with it's own parking space.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kernow Cottage and would love to stay there again.

Kernow Cottage is a comfortable and well-equipped base for your holiday.

It ism literally 5 minutes walk to the attractive harbour at Porthleven, and the town shops and cafes. The owners re-equip frequently, making sure that the property is kept up to date. We have stayed in this house for five consecutive years, and thoroughly recommend both it and Porthleven as a holidy venue.

Lovely cottage very close to harbour and amenities.

9.30am exit time too early as you couldn't arrive until 4pm meant you lost best part of a day. Kitchen roll would most acceptable also spare toilet rolls.

Great location for centre of Porthleven.

Comfortable beds and chairs. Second bedroom is somewhat cosy, OK for us as only one person was using it. Bathroom mirror way to low for most, needs replacing with something with adjustable height. TV could do with an upgrade.

Kernow Cottage is in an ideal location a few streets away from the harbour, literally a few minutes walk away.

The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, suitable for a couple or maybe a family with small children. Although there is a second bedroom, this wouldn't be suitable for four adults. It's great that there is a driveway for off street parking. A lovely place to relax after a day walking and exploring this beautiful area.

Just returned from a fabulous week at Kernow Cottage.

On first impressions this is a house at the bottom end of a small housing estate . However the location couldn’t be better . A two minute walk brings you to shops and the harbour. The house itself has off street parking , which I think is a bit of a rarity in Porthleven . Inside was spotlessly clean and well equipt with everything you could possible need . The house is ‘upside down’ with the bedrooms being on the ground floor . There was only the two of us so we used the second bedroom for storage area. It is rather small with just about enough room for two single beds , but would be absolutely fine for children and it did have its own small fitted wardrobe . The main bathroom is upstairs, but there is also a downstairs toilet so you don’t have to negotiate the stairs in the middle of the night . I wouldn’t hesitate on recommending Kernow Cottage , and we will certainly stay again when we next visit Porthleven

We had a lovely time at Kernow Cottage.

We couldn’t fault a thing. It had everything we needed in it and was so perfectly close to everything: the harbour, beach, shops and restaurants. The history of the house and town were fascinating to read about in the guides and welcome book provided. The guest book was great for ideas of places to visit and eat in. The parking space was such a bonus. We loved every minute and had rebooked for next year before we left! We can’t wait to come back next year - we are already counting down the days!

Kernow Cottage is a very comfortable really well -equipped property, very conveniently sited for the shops and harbour, which is -literally- 5 minutes walk away.

Thie is the fourth time we have stayed there and it is always beautifully presented, clean and welcoming, and we intend to return for as many times as our ages permit.

A lovely upside down house to stay in, which we wasn’t expecting.

Quite glad the bedrooms were downstairs as it was quite warm when we stayed and with the bedrooms being downstairs meant they were cool at night. The house has everything you need for a stay in Porthleven, only 3 minutes from the main harbour (yes we timed it!). Would definitely stay here again.

This was our second holiday staying in Kernow Cottage.

It had everything we could possibly need and was very comfortable. It was great to be able to walk to the harbour so quickly and easily. Porthleven has a variety of places to eat and some lovely little shops. The bonus with this cottage was having our own parking space, rather than parking on the road, which is the case with lots of holiday cottages in the village. Many thanks!

The fact that we have yet again re-booked for next year says it all I think.

It was absolutely amazing people were so nice in Porthleven I didn't want to come home the cottage was lovely

The only problem se had was with the dish washer, it seemed someone had put in the wrong size tablet, the machine wouldn't take it, so we had to wash up ourselves .

A real nice place to stay in.Looking forward to coming back next year.

Close to the Harbour and facilities, good off street parking and very clean and tidy. Had all the facilities required. Will definitely recommend this Cottage to anyone wanting to stay in Porthleven.

Great holiday cottage. Porthleven is a lovely town with great restaurants, pubs and bars.

We have stayed at Kernow Cottage three times now, and we always look forward to getting there.

It is a very comfortable house, well appointed and in a quiet location, yet only a few minutes walk to the town of Portleven and the harbour. We love the town, and there is always something happening to watch. It is also well-placed as a centre for visits to places of interest in other parts of Cornwall.

Fabulous property,central in Porthleven but in a quiet cul de sac with dedicated parking for 2 vehicles.

We’ve just had a very enjoyable stay at Kernow Cottage, it had everything we needed and was very comfortable.

We chose this cottage because of its own private parking spaces and its proximity to the centre of Porthleven which has everything - shops, beach, busy harbour and plenty of good restaurants. We chose well!

Porthleven is a Charming place to stay and this cottage was perfect, in a quiet location, spotlessly clean and very well equipped with lots of space, enough for a family or four adults.

Very very comfortable. The position of the cottage was perfect with a pint at ‘The Ship’, the furthest part of the harbour, only a five minute stroll away and lots of excellent restaurants to choose from along the way. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again next year.

A lovely cottage in a very convenient location.

Everything we needed was available in the cottage. Porthleven is beautiful with some good bars and restaurants. Easy access to the coastal pathway too.

Porthleven is a pretty village with lots of walks, restaurants, harbour on the doorstep.

Just lovely - the joy of getting away and the weather being good and such a beautiful place would have made this a wonderful holiday anyway, but the fact the cottage was so light and lovely and right on the harbour just topped everything.

We had All that we required, a home from home experience, very comfortable homely cottage which we would use again.

Cottage isn’t pretty, but inside is nice & very clean. Good communication with owners and caretaker.. Perfect for access to harbour and off street parking is great.

The house inside was great, it had everything that we needed for a comfortable holiday.

We felt the outside area was let down. The back yard had a table and chairs but was surrounded on 3 sides with high grey walls, there was no plants or anything to brighten it up at all and it just felt very unloved and had zero wow factor

Cottage is an ideal position for the Harbour Shops and Bus Stop.

Nice to leave your car parked safely on the premises.The cottage absolutely perfect for a self catering holiday.

Lovely little house in a very convenient location.

The double mattress in the master bedroom is very basic though, a decent new mattress would be a worthwhile addition. Other than that, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The location is the main plus with this house, within a few minutes walk you can be at Porthleven Harbour, there is not a huge number of shops, but plenty of places to eat and drink.

A short car drive is Penzance and our favourite Falmouth. The property is well equipped, and looks to have recently been refurbished, however there were a few minor jobs that need to be addressed, also we thought some net curtains would have been a nice touch. All in all a property in a good location well equipped, by the sea.

Warm comfortable cottage, Spotlessly clean, very convenient location for access to the harbour, shops and restaurants.

House located in very quiet location near to Porthleven harbour and all amenities.

The neighbours were friendly and said hello. Well equipped and comfortable house. House was warm and there was plenty of hot water. However, the kitchen could do with another large lidded saucepan, a large lidded saute/wok pan and some slotted plastic spoons. Cleanliness - Surfaces were dusty. All mirrors smeared. Fridge needed a wipe inside. Mould inside plastic rim of washing machine. It was stated in note from owners that non-recyclable bin bags were provided under the sink - but there were none. We had bought our own cleaning supplies etc, so we left a few of our own bags for the next visitors. On the Tuesday evening a kind neighbour put out the black waste bin (normally stored in storage container in front of house) in which we put our black sack of non-recyclable waste. Despite the slight let-down with the cleanliness issues, we would stay there again.

This is our second visit to Kernow and we will be back again next year.

It is perfect for us. Everything is of a high standard; very comfortable with the added bonus of a parking space which is at a premium in Porthleven. It is spotless and there are plenty of pots, pans and crockery. It is perfectly situated; quiet but a two minute walk from the harbour area. All in all a home from home.

Great location for walking into village and harbour.

Kernow Cottage was clean, tidy, nicely furnished and had everything that you could need - a real home from home (it's the second time we have stayed there).

Whilst we were staying there was some very unusual weather and we got snowed in. We also had a bit of a medical emergency. The owners of the cottage were extremely accommodating and helpful, contacting us to inform us that we were welcome to stay as long as we needed until it was safe for us to travel home at no further cost to ourselves. I cannot thank them enough for their generosity and understanding.

A nice clean property.

Modern but without much character. We found the furniture and bed very uncomfortable. The TV and Digibox are old and fiddly and should be upgraded.

Near to the harbour but very quiet and peaceful.
