  • "- The ceiling needs to be soundproof, otherwise you hear everything from upstairs and at times can be very annoying."

    - possible parking spots should be included in the pack and/re website. We were very lucky as the local people advised where to park free. Apart from the above, everything was simply delightful.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. No comments have been made by previous guests regarding the hearing of any noise from the apartment above. We have added to the website that parking should be available in a nearby car park. Apart from this were are very glad to hear that you had a lovely time. Property Owner

  • "Loved the property."

One if the best we've stayed in (we stay twice a year in the area). We will definitely be returning. Had to leave one day early due to the storm which was a shame.

  • "This cottage is everting you need for a lovely break in Cornwall ."

Porthleven is beautiful and the cottage is perfect location . I would recommend extra mirror in the bedrooms plus the heating couldn’t be increased in a few rooms but the lovely log burner made up for this . We have already record friend and family and will definitely return. This holiday will hold a special place in our hearts .

  • "A clean, fresh feel to The Old Post Office with everything you need for a short break to hand."

Thank you. The decor was all thoughtfully coordinated, the beds very comfortable and the heating very adequate for a January stay. We used the wood burner each evening but on our last evening it set off the smoke alarm and we were unable to turn it off. There was no smoke seepage into the room, I think the room temperature was high at 24C. This is a comment not a criticism at all. Only other tiny thing would be a separate bin for food waste. All said we had an absolutely lovely stay and would definitely re book and recommend to friends.

Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at The Old Post Office. We appreciate you bringing the smoke alarm to our attention. We check the smoke alarms in the property with every change over and we are happy to say we have not had the same issue since. Property Owner

  • "We had the most wonderful stay at the beginning of December."

We love Porthleven already and have now found the perfect place to stay. The property is modern, impeccably clean and very spacious. We could not fault it and we are already looking back at coming to stay again soon. The only improvement I would make is some info on the high tech heating as it took a while for us to figure out the times it would come on

  • "The property was beautiful, two very minor faults, we couldnt get the two tv’s in the bedrooms to work,( not a big deal though), and i couldnt understand how to turn the heating down, at times it was very very hot, again, certainly not a deal breaker."

Every thing else was just superb, a credit to the owners

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback and for drawing our attention to these points. We will ensure that the TV's in the bedrooms are checked. Also that instructions on how to work the heating system are provided. We are very glad that you had a lovely holiday and enjoyed both the apartment and its location. We do hope to welcome you back to the apartment again in the future. Property Owner

  • "General cleaning is good, shower cubicles do need attention along the sliding door in en-suite and the other shower is still leaking."

Black mould is visible. Both bathrooms have dirty toothbrush holders not only inside but the shelf below too, if this sort of thing is provided they need to be spotlessly clean. Superb amount of kitchen equipment provided. The front bedroom needs some sort of lock on the window to be able to open the window at night for air without the fear of anyone coming in.

Thank you for your feedback. Our maintenance man is visiting the property to sort out the shower in the next gap in bookings. Property Owner

  • "Mirrors in bedrooms would be a plus."

Only downside for us was guests upstairs were constantly walking around all day and in early hours as well. Looking at pictures I see they have no carpets in the living areas which may not have helped the situation but it is a chance you take when you have a downstairs apartment. We had this place for my dad being all on one level because he can't do stairs. We know now we will stick to a holiday house. We loved everything else.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. It is difficult with ground floor apartments when there is another apartment above. Aside from this we are glad that you had a lovely time and that you enjoyed both the apartment and the location. Property Owner

A very dog friendly location. Lovely apartment, very spacious and clean. Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate a plus and very useful! The only downside is parking is a bit of a nightmare but that is a small price to pay for such a good location.

  • "The Old Post Office apartment was absolutely amazing, it has been refurbished to an excellent standard and was so clean and comfortable."

It had everything you could possibly need as a home away from home. It is situated right in the heart of Porthleven so has easy walking access to the center. There isn’t any parking but we always managed to get a space on the road further up by the cemetery and there is a car park further round. The only downfall we had was from the upstairs apartment as you can hear them walking about especially if there are younger children running around.

  • "The location is perfect, next to local shops selling local produce, restaurants, gift shops, art galleries, pubs and a local supermarket."

A pleasant stroll down Fore Street takes you into the Harbour with its beautiful views. There is a local craft market on Tuesdays that is worth a visit. There is a wide choice of places to eat and drink. The car park is a short walk away, drop your suitcases off first by parking directly outside the building, there are double yellow lines so you need to be quick as double-decker buses come round the corner so be careful not to block the road. The car park is good value, free overnight from 4pm to 9am , then 70p an hour or £5.30 for 24 hours. The bins are collected on Tuesday morning from the kerb outside.. This is a very nicely furbished and newly decorated holiday home. The owner has made it very comfortable and has thought of the little things that make a big difference. . Porthleven is a wonderful place to visit and relax, the Old Post Office is a lovely place to stay. .

Porthleven is a lovely location, quiet but still good for tourists with loads of restaurants and a lovely seaside. The actual apartment was in the perfect location, only 2 minutes away walking to the local amenities. The decor was lovely, everything was super clean. Was really chuffed with it and have already looked into booking next year. Will definitely be back again soon!

Very comfortable (didn’t want to leave the bed!) and a fantastic location for a couple of nights away. 1 small point I’d make is that the back door could do with a blind on the window. Otherwise faultless!

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden, coastal gems, located near Helston, famous for its annual Flora Dance Festival. Situated between Lizard Point and Land’s End, Porthleven retains the feel of a traditional Cornish fishing village, enjoying uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Cornish coastline. The iconic clock tower sits on the harbour entrance and the pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants cluster around the historic picturesque inner harbour, where there is plenty of boating and marine activity. With a warren of streets lined with classic Cornish, granite cottages, an extensive beach manned with lifeguards, the chance for alfresco dining in one of a number of well reviewed restaurants, and crabbing off the harbour, there are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, all year round. Porthleven is building a reputation for eating out with a popular food festival established in the spring. Out of season, Porthleven has one of the best surf breaks in the country where you can sit down and get lost for hours watching the energetic surfers riding the waves. There are some fabulous hidden coves along this stretch of coastline, including Praa Sands, Poldhu Cove, and Rinsey, a magical setting for the more energetic. You may have even seen pictures of Porthleven on television, being one of the best spots in the UK for storm watching, with the crashing winter waves often being used as the backdrop to weather forecasts. Walkers will enjoy the South West Coast Path, adventuring west past Rinsey Head with spectacular views, or south across Loe Bar to Penrose Estate with its National Trust cafe, and on to Gunwalloe Church Cove. Take a trip to the Isles of Scilly by boat or plane and marvel at the display of sub-tropical gardens at the stunning Tresco Abbey. The Eden Project near St. Austell offers an interesting day out. Porthleven is the ideal base for discovering the delights of west Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula.
