    Watching the sun rise on the balcony was a treat (most) mornings. Kitchen was well equipped. The beds were very comfy. No issues with the keys. We popped to Mary’s studio, the art is beautiful.

  • "We wanted to be able to walk into town while having a dedicated, large no hassle off road parking place while be able to access the wider area with out the traffic bun fight of the very centre."

    This property is bang on for that. The glorious sea view does entail a steep climb which we made sure we did just onceca day. The apartment is lovely and very well equiped. The tele easy to use for once! The microwave less so! We left the curtains closed as the apartment gets very warm with the sun pouring in the lovely glass front. I imagine an aircon unit may be needed if we keep having heatwaves. Bathrooms fab. Hob ok. Sofa are getting bit tired and we had to move cushions full of feather....asthma. It has been mentioned by others but the ground level front door needs fixing. Somedays took a while to inlock! Please improve final direction to property as we turned in to the street before as parking and access is at rear. Essentially a lovely stay. Book all sea front cafe restaurants before uou go andvif you want Mermaids sesfood a good 3 weeks before!

  • "We had a fabulous stay at the Puffins."

    The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable holiday. It was clean and nicely decorated. It was perfect. Thank you very much. One minor point, the key for the downstairs door sticks and is a difficult to open.

  • "Our second stay at Puffins, we just love it."

    Everything is in place, we needed for nothing. Our 5th stay at Belyars Croft always a delight. We ate out every night, Host, Firestation, beer Huis, Tayla, Beach cafe all delicious. We manage to walk on average over 6 days 11500 steps/ day. Weather superb. Hopefully we will be back at Xmas. We did visit Mary’ studio but she was out, hopefully another time.   • "Lovely apartment with nice views."

    Everything you could need for a self.catering stay and very clean. The walk uphill not suitable for anyone less mobile as its in 3 sections and pretty steep! Would stay again but would bring a fan from home as it could get warm through the night in good weather and there wasn't any breeze or air outside.

  • "Lovely property."

    Very well equipped kitchen. Sadly we didn't have enough towels and both hair dryers were not very powerful. Fantastic view and clean throughout. Should really be two bins in the kitchen for rubbish and recycling really. Some signs flat was tired. Still enjoyed our stay. Many thanks.

I checked with the housekeeping team re provision of towels and they assured me that as usual there were sufficient bath sheets and hand towels provided for your party. Puffins is a self catering apartment not a hotel where guests have the option of daily towel changes if they wish. The hairdryers are well powered. We have not had any negative comments re towels nor the hairdryers in 10 years of running Puffins. There is a waste bin but as the kitchen is relatively small we find guests tend to prefer to take their recycling down to the communal recycling bin daily. To help any other guests reading the reviews, I would add that 3.1 is the lowest feedback score given to Puffins in 10 years and we have consistently been rated at 4.9/5 overall until now.   • "We had a great stay."

    The apartment is modern and comfortable with everything you need. Our stay was the second week in January which was a cold but bright week and the apartment was always cosy. The apartment is up hill but just a 10 minute walk from main shopping and pubs. On arrival there was a welcome pack which was a nice touch. This is the first time I can honestly say that the advertising photos are spot on. Thanks for a great break!

  • "We so enjoyed our stay, the apartment had everything, parking was a real bonus and we appreciated all the Xmas goodies left for us."

    Big advantage is that everything is close, the Minak theatre, Penzance, Porthleven and Falmouth all super places to visit. In St Ives we eat at Host, Bier Huis,and Porthminster cafe and Kitchen super food and atmosphere. We managed the annual Boxing day run into the sea along with at least 600 others.

  • "Very attractive apartment."

    Amazingly well-equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting area and comfortable bed. Thoughtful touches by owner – great selection of DVDs! Good views of the sea over the garden and tree tops – well placed for weather watching – everything from rainbows to lightning! Quiet and well located for walking into the town, coastal walks or driving out to the surrounding area. We really enjoyed our stay. We have mentioned a couple of practical issues to the agents but they did not spoil our visit. Note to agents: The key/lock to the main door of the building is a real struggle to use – it can take several minutes to open the door – the door is often left open by residents because of this. The kitchen tap is very stiff to use and the whole tap unit swivels as you attempt to turn on the tap. The basin in the main bathroom is very slow to empty.

    Apartment met all needs and was clean and well equipped. Only slight concern we had were the spaces between decking boards on the balcony that could be dangerous for users eg hot liquid or sharp object from above.

  • "Something to keep the balcony door open would have been helpful."

Building Work Notice

We would like to inform residents that building work is currently underway at Carrick Lodge, located adjacent to the Belyars Croft development. The project involves renovating the existing building and constructing an extension. Additionally, ongoing works are taking place on the Belyars Lane access road in front of Belyars Croft. Depending on the nature of the work, noise levels may vary—ranging from extensive noise during some activities to more subdued sounds at other times.
Access to Carrick Lodge by vehicle is via the shared driveway through Belyars Croft’s parking area. The remaining construction work is expected to continue throughout 2026. These works will primarily take place on the front (south) side of the building, which is the area furthest from Belyars Croft.
During this period, residents may experience associated activity and noise throughout the day, with workmen and vehicles present on site. Please be assured that the views from your apartment will not be affected by the ongoing works.

The owner has opted to provide one set of keys however there is a key safe that can be used to store the keys when you leave the apartment if required.

Parking for Puffins is located to the rear of the building in an un-allocated parking space. Please note, the car park is strictly monitored. On arrival you will find a Parking Permit left for you on a Bulldog Clip in the hallway, please ensure this is displayed on your vehicle dashboard AT ALL TIMES as penalties are applied for all vehicles with no Permit clearly displayed.
