Nova Cottage

We found the property in very good condition and welcoming.

Unfortunately the key keep (adjacent to the front door) would not close so was unusable. However, as the owners provided us with 2 front door keys this was not really a problem. It does need mending/replacing for future guests. Overall our experience was very positive end enjoyable..

Nova cottage, Carbis Bay is beautiful, I highly recommend a stay here.

The beds are comfortable, everything was clean and fresh on arrival. The kitchen was great had everything you need for cooking and entertaining. I love Nova cottage and will come back.

The House was beautiful, in a great location within easy walking distance into St Ives, would definitely recommend and stay again ourselves if visiting the area.

Our only criticism would be the outside furniture is looking a little tired so could do with either being replaced or with it being wood it could be rubbed down and re-varnished. Small issue but could also do with a few extra oven proof dishes in the kitchen as there was only one. Overall we loved the house, we had a great time.

Was as good as the 1st one. The accommodation has kept its high standard. 10 min walk into St ives. Bus stop located 2 mins away, giant Tesco round the corner. Only downside my mirror got knocked off parking at the front of the property.Will return again.

Very well presented home, with great attention to detail.

Well equipped with modern equipment and facilities. The only problem we had was the heating in the house. The temperature on the display never fell below 24degrees and mostly 26, while outside temperatures were never above 18 degrees. The owner advised how to change the temperature but this had no impact. Night time temperatures made sleep difficult. The heating is supplied from a heat pump; no radiators heated up and we could find no reason for the excessive temperature.

Excellent location and all facilities very good.

Kitchen very well equipped. Sofas and beds comfortable. Nice outdoor patio area and a drying line was very useful.

Had a week's stay at Nova cottage with a very comfortable stay & fantastic views .

Great bus route into St ives no need to use your car as also tesco is 2 min walk away. Even though we had a great stay i would recommend upgrading garden furniture as some of the chairs are broken. I would highly recommend this property.

Lovely modern property in a beautiful part of Cornwall.

Kitchen and bathroom facilities were brilliant. Would've given 5 stars if it wasn't on such a busy road. Traffic noise is almost constant. Too noisy to sleep with the bedroom window open. After a couple of nights we bought a fan. Would suggest a fan for each bedroom, plus info on where/when to leave bins out for collection. Green wheelie bin was already half full when we arrived.

Good location Fabulous cottage with quality items and ample storage On the main road so some traffic noise Garden furniture could do with an update Clearer info on bins / collection day / recycling would have been good Took a while to realise there was a higher placed isolator switch above the light switches and isolator switch outside the main bathroom which operates the shower 10 minutes walk to the beach Tesco 2 minutes away A few more games would have been good 30 minute walk along SW coastal path to st Ives ( get the train back 70 p each ) Recommend la casita and old forge lelant for dining out Becks fish and chips a good option on arrival day Ugly butterfly for a cheeky cocktail ( fantastic views ) We had 2 cars not safe to park on the round on the opposite side of the road is small public garden with parking which was handy Lovely stay

Very good accommodation with good facilities.

Nice touch that we were left some milk and prosecco. Bit of a trek into and back from St Ives, especially back, as its all uphill. Tesco couldn't be any closer which is a bonus. On a busy road but not bothered by traffic noise.

The house is beautiful and in a great location.

The area is beautiful and perfect location for St Ives and Carbis bay. The supermarket around the corner is extremely useful. My parents used the public transport to enter and return from St Ives. Parked one car on the drive and one on the road outside the property. Will definitely return.

Everything was perfect but the dryer wasn’t drying clothes and the tv placement in the living room was annoying.

Wish the bigger tv was in the sofa/living area. Also the lack of accessible hdmi ports to connect external devices was a problem.

Only issue was the hanging facilities in the wardrobe to short for dresses, and I am only 5’2.

Therefore had to hang clothes outside.

Positives: An immaculate property well-placed location wise.

The property was very clean on arrival and check in was easy through communication with sykes holidays. Sea views from upper floors, especially the top floor. Really lovely. Parking space right next to the property makes life easy. Beds were comfy and plenty of towels for each person which we appreciated. Safety lights in corridors helpful for children or elderly people in the night. The kitchen overall was very well stocked with high quality items including pans, glasses etc. The shower didn't drain but we contacted sykes and it was fixed the same day. We cannot complain at the speed they came. They also brought the high chair. Points to consider: The property was down as having a high chair but when we arrived it wasn't there. We arrived too late to do anything on the Saturday as offices were closing and had to wait until Monday when the offices opened. If you desperately need something, perhaps worth calling in advance to check it'll be there. Pleased with how it was manages. The parking space is right next to a busy roundabout. You just have to be really careful and would recommend reversing in. The kitchen and house are lacking some essentials that we felt are important. Might seem small, but there is no peeler or scissors. We were left with no bin bags nor did we have hand soap in the upstairs bathrooms. There were anti bac wipes but no kitchen cleaner. Finally no clothes airer. It rained for most of the week so we couldn't dry clothes easily. When it was sunny, we tried to use the line outside but that was also broken. As I say, small things that didn't limit our enjoyment but just perhaps need a quick look at.

Parking space is too near the junction and difficult to see the coming car.

The kitchen need a suction system for cooking as living room will become oily and smelly.

Lovely house in Carbis bay.

Excellent location with a short walk into St Ives or down to Carbis bay beach. The house is beautifully decorated and comes with everything needed to have a lovely break away from home. We will definitely return.

Couldn’t reccomend highly a lovely.

A lovely home which was absolutely spotless on arrival. Brilliant location and we’d definitely come again!

The property was fantastic and spotless, located on the main st ives road traffic noise not too much of an issue, parking at the property a bit tricky but mastered that,Tescos right on your doorstep and the Cornish Arms pub excellent food 2min walk, patio table and chairs at the property need to be sanded down and painted as we got a couple of splinters from the chairs but won't put us off coming back, finally the bifold doors were open when we got to the property didn't no how to lock them called the property management and it was sorted out straight away, i suggested that there should be some instructions in the itinerary book on how to lock/open them as there's no key.

We had a fantastic time shame about the weather Regards.

We had a fantastic week at Nova cottage, it is exactly as it is in the photos and had everything we needed (except an airer if I’m being picky- there is a washing line but it was raining!

). The beach at Carbis bay is beautiful and the cottage is also about 15-20 mins walk to Porthminster and St Ives. If you don’t want to walk that far there are regular buses there and back too. We will 100% stay again, even my teenage Son didn’t moan about anything - must be good

Excellent all round.

Nothing at all missing or requiring improvement. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

Immaculate property in walking distance to Carbis Bay beach via steep coastal path.

We enjoyed our week's stay here and were blessed with sunny weather, would highly recommend it! A few things that would have helped make our stay better: Instructions on how to open the patio doors. Some labels on the switches for the hob and shower, more details as to what is in the property, like hair dryer, tea towels etc as we brought our own as we didn't know these were already there.
