  • "Really lovely stay at Stargazer the location was beautiful with really nice views."

    The main accommodation was really nice and also the outside seating tent was really spacious. Hot tub on an evening was perfect. Would definitely recommend! Hot tub takes a little while to heat but we knew this when booking, option of it being ready and warm on arrival would be a nice added extra.

  • "Beautiful location, perfect for exploring Cornwall, has everything you need."

    The bed was so comfortable, the shepherd's hut very clean and quiet. The teepee was an excellent additional space for relaxing and playing games. The hottub was perfect for relaxing in the evening under the stars before sitting round the firepit. Would highly recommend a perfect break for us and our dog who loved the woodland walks on the doorstep. Will definitely be back again

  • "Stargazer is a lovely property."

    I would say it isn’t as private as it seems from the photos. There are other properties close by though it didn’t feel overlooked too much. The place is very clean and tidy with extra towels for hot tub use. The bed was very comfortable as well. Having the tent as extra space was also lovely. The hot tub was clean and looked well maintained. My only issue would be for the price I’d expect at least some milk in the fridge and more tea and coffee available. Even some salt and pepper it just something I’d expect for a luxury place. This could also be the same about how much wood is provided for the hot tub especially as the initially heating takes at least one bag and we struggled to find any to buy elsewhere though Sarah did provide extra for us for additional cost. The location though is great for accessing Newquay or Perranporth. I’d still highly recommend Stargazer though it was a beautiful peaceful stay.

    Hannah we are so very pleased that you had a beautiful peaceful stay in Stargazer this weekend and that you found the hut both extremely clean and comfortable. We would like to reassure you that although there are other properties nearby, the hut itself and its immediate surroundings are totally private and only one corner of the roof of the hut can be seen from these properties. Regarding the amount of logs left we find that the starter bag is more than sufficient for a 2 night stay especially as the fire in the hot tub is already laid with kindling, fire lighters and logs ready for your arrival. Many of the garages locally supply bags of logs as do we should you require more. There is certainly something very special about sitting in the hot tub on a warm summers evening overlooking the rolling fields. ( maybe with a glass of the Prosecco we provide!) We used to leave milk for our guests but have learned from experience that because of allergies/ unwillingness to drink cows milk many guests were leaving it and that it did not prove practical to provide it. Again we feel that the small jars of tea, coffee and sugar that are left in the hut are more than adequate for guests initial needs. We are happy that overall you enjoyed your stay in our beautiful hut in the countryside and were able to appreciate all that it has to offer. Hopefully we might see you visit us again.   • "I didn’t realise the fridge was a bar fridge so very small ."

    Not what I planned for when I am having a shopping delivery. The hot tub was 3 hrs a lot of wood burning and not at all hot . Pillows from the bed smelt awful and I could not use. So a very uncomfortable stay

    Hi Natalie. Thank you for your feedback. The wood fired hot tub generally takes 2.5 to 3 hours to heat up, as described in the instructions we leave in the hut. Yes, the fridge is small as it is designed to fit the layout of the hut. We are puzzled by the comment about the pillows as the pillow protectors are laundered and changed at every changeover. We do ask in our Welcome Guide that guests bring any issues to our attention during their stay so that we can redress them and avoid disappointment. Sarah and Helen. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Stargazer."

    The shepheards hut had enough storage for what we required and was equipped with more than adequate utensils. The bed was very comfortable. It was wonderful to have the use of the tent (as we had varied weather!) and enjoyed playing Cornish Monopoly. There were adequate blankets provided but maybe a source of heating could be considered for the colder months. It's worth bearing in mind that the hot tub takes a lot of wood to heat it first off and only one bag of wood is provided for all 3 wood burning facilities regardless of how many nights you stay. We had to purchase another bag to see us through our 3 night stay using hot tub each night and fire pit on one occasion (we did not use the wood burner). The area around the accommodation is beautiful but did feel slightly overlooked by a couple of houses (upstairs windows) on site. The welcome drink was a lovely surprise.

Just to reassure you that no properties have a line of sight or overlook to Stargazer, especially as we have planted many trees and shrubs around the hut, the hut garden and along the path. We have generally found that, as the hot tub fire and fire pit are already laid up with kindling and wood ready for guests arrival, one bag is generally sufficient for a 3 night stay and we do state in the property description that a starter pack of wood and kindling is provided as well. We are closed between the months of November and March so generally have no need for a heater in the tent but it is something we can consider (bearing in mind health and safety!). Thank you again.   • "We had the best stay at Stargazer and haven’t stopped raving about it to friends and family since we’ve been back."

    The Shepards Hut was beautifully decorated and even though it’s not the biggest space it has everything you need and makes it very cosy! We loved the hot tub and the fact you can see all the stars in the sky at night, we even saw a few shooting stars! It’s just a lovely and peaceful place to stay for a couples getaway would 1000% recommend and I think we’d love to come back in the future! Thank you so much Helen & Sarah!

  • "Our first time in a shepherds hut and it didn't disappoint."

    My First impression was that it was smaller than in the photographs but it was cosy and adequate and had everything we needed. Despite the weather we managed to use the hot tub which was a treat, we lit the firepit and sat in the bedouin tent. All in all a great stay. We would thoroughly recommend it.

  • "Me and my partner both had a great stay at Stargazer despite the rain, found the bed to be very comfortable and enjoyed all the nearby activities such as Eden Project and Healeys cider farm."

    Stargazer was a very nice hut and all was very well decorated and equipped too. We enjoyed sitting in the tent and used the fire pit to make our own chicken skewers and loved the hot tub. However due to being on the slightly smaller side it lacks a freezer and oven, we made do and ate very well still. Will definitely be staying again soon.

  • "Me and my husband decided to get away for our anniversary and this was perfect!"

    Very romantic and our little doggo enjoyed too. The little tent was cute and perfect for us to snuggle and watch films on our laptop. There is no TV so we took our laptop and some films. It’s cosy and has everything you need. We were out most of the days we were there, which was perfect as we were not disturbed once. The hot tub was lovely too and perfect for us to celebrate our anniversary! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend if looking for a romantic getaway in Cornwall! Thank you and we hope to return some time in the future :)

  • "We loved our stay in Stargazer hut!"

    The hut is finished to a high standard and has everything you need. The hot tub and bell tent were great additions. Our little dog had a nice time too! The hut could benefit from more storage space for food as currently all the kitchen storage is full with plates, utensils etc. - we took a plug in cool box which was needed as the fridge is really tiny. We found the mattress slightly uncomfortable but this was easily rectified with a basic mattress topper. These small things aside, we would love to visit again. It was a great base for exploring all of Cornwall.

Nestled within 5 acres of gardens, lawns and woodland, close to Truro and the North and South Coasts, Stargazer is a delightful, single-storey Shepherd Hut with wood-fired hot tub, Bedouin tent, fire pit and outdoor seating areas.

Located overlooking stunning countryside and fields and less than 10 miles from the beach, Stargazer is an excellent escape for a couple looking to spend some quality time in Cornwall.

After arriving at Stargazer, step inside and become familiar with the interior, housing a beautiful open plan space with a double bed, seating area with table, kitchen with induction hob and fridge and shower room.

Stargazer has been beautifully crafted in solid oak and accented with a pretty blue and turquoise palette of furnishings.

Light the fire for the hot tub as you sit down to enjoy a drink or romantic dinner with your loved one cooked on the fire pit or in the hut.

Enjoy the wood-fired hot tub gazing at the view or enjoy the fairy lights around the Bedouin tent.

As the night grows dark, wrap yourself under the duvet in the double bed and look up through the skylight at the stars and moon.

On chilly evenings light the woodburning stove in the hut and cosy up for a romantic evening.

To the outside of this charming hut is a garden area with a seating area as well as the spacious Bedouin tent, a lovely addition to aid your relaxation.

The tent has a sofa, lighting, coffee table, rugs and drinks trolley and is accented with a beautiful chandelier; there are also bean bags which can be used in the tent or outside.

Two sunlounger chairs are provided should you wish to relax with a book or simply snooze in the sunshine.

Should you wish to indulge in a massage in the tent or have a pottery lesson close by, this can be arranged.

Stargazer can be booked in conjunction with our other Shepherd Hut on the grounds, Moonshine, should you wish to holiday with friends.
