Mill Cottage

This place is just perfect, this is my second stay in the same cottage, it's spacious and has everything you'd need for a holiday.

The grounds are something to just sit and enjoy, there is a stream running right beside the house, coming from some waterfalls just a short walk from the private garden. I would deffo recommend this stay as 1 for your bucket list.

A complete suprise.

.. Hidden in a little valley a group of old mill building are set out for individual use. There plenty of parking We stayed in March in chilly & slightly wet weather. The cottage was very warm . Amazing water pressure in the shower ...lots of hot water. There were hairdryers, irons and clothes horse for use . Very generous with bag of wood we purchase after we used the complimenary basket .. Grounds beautiful and the walk up the glen was lovely. Camilias, primroses and magnolia in full bloom . Very peaceful no road noise ..

This is the second time we have stayed at Mill Cottage and we absolutely love it!

The place is very clean on arrival, beds are comfy, warm in early March, shower great, everything you need in the kitchen. Can’t fault the place at all. The river running right past your living room window is just lovely whilst having breakfast and I love listening to it as I fall asleep at night. The grounds of the whole place are very relaxing. Robin is a great host as well and will always help with any questions or queries.

This is the second time I have stayed at Mill Cottage.

The cottage is very comfy and had everything that I needed for my stay. It is situated in a peaceful wooded valley within walking distance to the coastal path via Rocky Valley. I came primarily to walk and sketch, so the position was perfect for me. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return.

Great location & lovely gardens, the house was just what we needed as a base.

For future reference, a tea towel would be handy as I felt bad not being able to dry up! Thanks for a lovely stay, hope to come again!

The cottage was traditional and cosy, offering a timeless experience in a secluded, quiet area just a minute's walk from the road.

I loved the beautiful surroundings, the stream under the window, the purple-blossoming hydrangea, the relaxing garden, the woodland walk by the stream to St Nectan's Glen, and the coast path through Rocky Valley to Boscastle. It was a fantastic base from which to explore Cornwall with a car. Robin, the manager, was invaluable and made our stay enjoyable.

Cottage was quiet had all we need. Beautiful views. Beds were comfortable. Would love to stay again.

We had a absolutely amazing time at Halgabron Mill Cottage.

Cottage is very cosy and has all facilities. Kitchen well equipped.Woodburn stove is definitely an attraction when you stay there with kids. Amazing garden with the stream. Great location. Robin the owner is very nice and always ready to help. 5*

A beautiful cottage, in the most idyllic of surroundings and topped off with a Mill stream busily rushing past.

The cottage is down a track and totally secluded. Mr Evans is a charming and most helpful host and lives on site. Again to spend a week in North Cornwall cannot be bettered. Plenty of shops and services in adjacent Tintagel approximately a mile away. We have already booked another week's stay next Summer. We've just got to get through the winter. One small negative I would mention is that I gave a 3/4 in facilities was the kitchen lighting was a bit dull and I would get in my own light. As a retired electrician it is a very easy fix and I wish I had taken my tools with me could have fixed it in an hour. But having said that I would strongly recommend this property if you are after a very quiet break in Cornwall

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location.

Everything is there for a lovely stay and Robin was very helpful if needed. We will certainly return when visiting the area.

The property is placed in a secluded area just off the high road.

About 10 mins from Boscastle one way and 5 or 10 mins from Tintagle the other. With easy access to the pathway to St Nectans Glen via the back garden. Through the woodlands. The cottage has ample parking space for most vehicles. The cottage was very clean and tidy with most amenities avaliable. This property is beautiful with a good all year round feel and great value for your money. We was welcomed on arrival Mr Evens eas kind enough to show us around and answer questions we had. Would highly recommend this property.

Magical property and the owner is a gentleman

We really enjoyed our stay at Mill Cottage and would love to stay for longer next time.

We were very comfortable in the cottage and had everything we needed for our self catering holiday. It was a perfect base for our plans to visit St Nectan's Glen and walking the coastal path. We enjoyed seeing the heron visit the stream running through the garden. Thank you very much, we hope to visit again next year.

This cottage is amazing.

It was as described in the sykes booking form. The scenery around the cottage with the stream running past is magical, along with the woodland walk to the waterfall. The cottage is well packed with everything needed for a memorable stay. We had the most restful week I can remember for years. The owner was very likable, friendly, and helpful. Enjoy your stay.

Only negativity was that the two single beds could do with new mattress as not very clean and uncomfortable.

We very much enjoyed our brief stay.

Terrific cottage to stay at with the relaxing sound of the mill stream running right outside your windows.

It is nice having a fully functional kitchen where you don’t need to rely on takeaway. The host is very nice and takes a lot of care maintaining the beautiful property.

It was a nice little stay, I enjoyed our stay in the cottage and it provided what we needed for the weekend.

We all love this little cottage.

Its clean and quite well equipped in a lovely peaceful setting and the owner is very nice. I do think the check in is a little late. Perhaps 4pm would be better.

We had a fantastic stay here!

The cottage was spotlessly clean, very warm (we stayed in October), had a great shower, solid fast WiFi, great kitchen, good parking, comfy beds and great location. The garden with the river running through is absolutely stunning, it was great to have breakfast, dinner or a cup of tea at the table whilst watching and listening to the river with the window open. The waterfall at St Nectans Glenn, which you can access via a path out the back garden, is well worth a visit. The river walk up to it from the cottage is great. On the other side of the road from Mill Cottage you can walk down the river on a public footpath to the Rocky Valley which is stunning and then also puts you onto the SW Coast Path which you can then either walk to Boscastle or Tintagel which are great walks. Will definitely stay again here in the future, amazing place.

Beautiful and very relaxing

We came from Germany and spent three nights in this lovely place.

The cottage is old but offers everything you need. It is at cose distance to Tintagel. There are two amazing footpaths directly accessible: the way up to St. Nectan's Glen through a private valley with beautiful flowers, and a path to the coast passing breathtaking sights of a green valley of mills and the abrupt view of the coast.

The cottage was all and everything that we hoped for,set in a tranquil location we had a lovely stay,we do look forward to returning ,I wish the Owner all the very best of luck with his journey and thank you for such a nice stay.

We would have liked to have got in a bit earlier considering you have to be out by 9.

30am and the next person can’t get in by 5.30pm

Parking is a bit tight if you have a big car

It was very place too stay we have been here twice now I would recommend this mill cottage as its quite and peaceful and the Woodburn store is fun

Nice cosy cottage, with lovely stream running by and pretty garden.

A good position for beaches. Very clean.

The cottage on the outside is beautiful.

Unfortunately on the inside this is not the case. Cottage is very tired looking it looks as if it has not had a thing done to it in a long while. Bed in main room not very comfortable. Bathroom is very tired indeed shower also leaks. Parking is a nightmare spaces not big enough to accommodate the cars. Had to park right next to bins not very pleasent avoiding wasp and flies would be better if bins were elsewhere or do not appoint a parking space here. Such a shame the area is beautiful and cottage looks externally iddylic. Just a shame the inside does not reflect the outside.

A lovely spotlessly clean and cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings.

Kitchen well equipped but we struggled to get the grill to operate, as well as the heated towel rail in the bathroom, but minor details. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future.

Very friendly and helpful owner on site. Great views from the cottage [when it wasn't raining!] Very much enjoyed our stay, thanks. Regarding the technology: Very small TV[not our priority, but simple to improve] DAB radio did not work for us. Did not try the other 'boxes'. Wiring, plugs, sockets etc around the TV could and should be sorted out.

The cottage is in a beautiful location, including immaculate grounds and a mill stream running alongside.

The property itself is neatly presented although some of the fixtures/furnishings were a little dated. It is well located to walk to Bossiney Haven and the SW coast path.

Would of have liked to been made aware of amended check in / out details before booking.

Brilliant location for walks to Rocky Valley, Coastal path, St.Nectan's Glen waterfall, and only 30mins. walk into Tintagel.

More should be made of how AMAZING the grounds are!

Wonderful base for our holiday! Can’t recommend highly enough. We WILL use Mill Cottage again...and again!

Maybe property needs a bit of an upgrade, seemed a bit dated, but that should not detract from it’s position in a quiet private area.

Lovely setting, stream going around cottage and a walk through the grounds takes you to join the path to St Nectan Glen and if a walker, linking up to paths to Rocky Valley and the south west coast path where you can easily walk to Boscastle one way or Tintagel the other. The owner was very approachable and helpful. The acid test would be, would we use this cottage again if we were to visit the area again, of course we would, lovely base.

Our stay couldn’t have been better.

The house and grounds are magical and serene, a perfect retreat from busy days out in port towns. The owner is warm and cordial and very helpful with local knowledge.

From booking with Sykes, to paying the balance and going away, everything was superb.

It is a lovely place in a very pretty & tranquil location.

No frills particularly but very homely and comfortable from the first moment you step through the door. Perfect as a base to explore across North Cornwall & with some lovely walking straight out of the door too. Sitting with a cuppa or glass of wine watching and listening to the stream tinkle past is perfect for letting go of the cares of the world. Practicalities: There's ample parking, everything in the kitchen works, there's a drawer full of ideas where to go & a nice range of books and some games to keep you entertained. The TV is freesat and has plenty of channels to go at also, but if you can't live without you smartphone, then you may get a bit jittery, phone signal is pretty well non existent inside the solid stone walls and the free wi-fi isn't up to much, though with the nice eateries, family & pet friendly pubs and glorious coastline scenery so close, you'll soon forget such first world niggles.

Magical setting, the woods and sound of the stream just dissolves any stress.

Beautiful landscaped garden that blends perfectly with the wilder side of nature. The cottage exceeded my expectations, well supplied with everything one needs (even a hot water bottle and torch). I had a very comfortable stay and the owner of the property was so helpful and informative. 10/10 Definitely recommend a visit.

The cottage is lovely.

All you need for a good holiday in a great location. Very friendly owner. All info given by Sykes was spot on. It might be handy to make it very clear in the final info that no towels or tea towels are provided. I had forgotten, but uckily the owner reminds you when you ring him for last arrangements! 10 out of 10 for us for this holiday!
