  • "The cottage was very warm."

It was also lovely and well equipped and in a great location for visiting several local attractions. The appliances in the property were of a high quality, the beds were very comfortable. The EV charger was £30 for a week for our 7kw hybrid Jeep. The steps in the garden didn’t suit our ageing and ‘going blind’ Jack Russell’s but it was easy to let them out the front gate on their leads. We had some lovely sunny days which was fab for October! Thank you!

  • "This has to be one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in."

Plus, the location is lovely. The cottage was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

  • "A gorgeous girls weekend at Glendale."

So relaxing but at the same time we fit so much in. An evening sea swim at Port Gaverne, followed by a (delicious!) meal at the pub. Saturday was treat day at The Scarlet Spa in Mawgan Porth - highly recommend for a 10/10 spa experience. Sunday morning, walk down to Port Isaac for pastries and coffee, lots of lovely little shops to explore. A big hill to walk back up! Drove to Padstow for the afternoon, a treat to visit outside of high season. We picked up takeaway pizza from Paradise Pizza in Polzeath on the way home (really good pizza). What a brilliant weekend and we felt very lucky to have Glendale as our base for exploring this corner of Cornwall. Can’t wait to come back.

  • "We stayed for a week at Glendale."

What a lovely place it is! Location is great. We visited lots of local places - Port Isaac, Padstow, Rock, Polzeath - gorgeous scenery in all places! We also went a little further afield to St. Ives, Lands End and even Charlestown. Must admit... we prefer Port Isaac location better! We had a lovely walk into Port Isaac - took about 30 minutes which we thoroughly enjoyed!! Evenings in using the BBQ is recommended!! Thanks for a lovely stay in Cornwall.

  • "An absolutely stunning house!"

I have enjoyed every second staying here, the decor is gorgeous and all the facilities are perfect. Whilst staying here we have had many walks around Port Isaac going into all of the unique shops and seeing all the sights. We have also visited Rock where I couldn’t resist having a swim, and then to Padstow where many more purchases were made! We are planning to visit Port Quinn and Port Gaverne tomorrow as well as having one last look around Port Isaac. Being able to have access to all these gorgeous locations so close to the house is amazing! I have loved every part of our little holiday in, Glendale making it perfect!

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions, including the beautiful Lundy Bay, known for being the filming location of the hugely popular Doc Martin series. You may be lucky enough to see the infamous Fisherman's Friends performing on the Platt during the summer months singing traditional shanties. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
