Parking is a bit tricky. For us it was most convenient to pay £6 for 24hours each day on local car park, you can pay £30 for a week, but you need that much cash for machine as there is not a card pay option! Outside the front door you can use 30 min park between 8am - 6pm or single yellow parking 6pm - 10am.. but it has to be said often in use. But you soon get used to the parking shuffle and car park is less than 5min walk. ...

But you soon get used to the parking shuffle and car park is less than 5min walk. Although dog friendly accommodation, the town is less so for dog walking. You can use small beach in harbour at low tide and car park field below castle (payment machine not in use May 2018). Neither the recreation ground nor beaches allow dogs. Brilliant dog friendly beach at Porthcurin with excellent Hidden Hut cafe... parking on very steep hill down to beach. Recycling in car park, doesn't do plastic containers, only bottles.

Pier Cottage is an ‘upside down’ terraced cottage in St Mawes, just a few yards from the beach with gorgeous sea views.

Brilliant for couples or small family.

The living-dining room is upstairs with a pebble-effect ‘living flame’ fire and uninterrupted views of the bay; it’s as if you're looking from the bow of a ship!

The kitchen is also on this level.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms – a king-size double with en suite shower-room and TV and doors opening to the patio, and a twin and a family bathroom .

Behind the cottage is a lovely little terraced patio garden with garden furniture, perfect for alfresco meals or just relaxing with a good book.

A gem of a cottage in a lovely place for exploring rock pools and bathing, or simply soaking up the scenery.

About the location

ST MAWES

Falmouth 16 miles via car ferry, 3 miles via passenger ferry; Truro 10.5 miles via car ferry, 18 miles by road.

St Mawes is a small fishing village situated on the Roseland Peninsula, part of Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush countryside and has a notable historic castle guarding the entrance to the River Fal. The village is a haven for boating and yachting with many events and functions taking place and of course the local produce is outstanding, with local pubs and restaurants serving delicious seafood dishes throughout the year. Nearby there are plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy including walks, watersports and boat trips. Across from the harbour is the town of Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, the amenities will keep you occupied for hours. The town's old harbour-side pubs, excellent shopping, art gallery and stunning National Maritime Museum simply complete the picture. Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views.
