“Atlantic View is a lovely property and we really enjoyed our stay there.”

It is surrounded by beautiful countryside with the sea in the distance. It is next door to Rocky Valley - a local beauty spot and close to St. Ninans waterfalls and well. The property is accurately described on the website, however the property could do with a little more TLC. It was disappointing that lights were not checked before our arrival. The property is accurately described on the website, however the property could do with a little more TLC. It was disappointing that lights were not checked before our arrival. Out of 5 lights in the bathroom only 3 worked and there were two lights not working in the kitchen. That said, when they were notified to the Caretakers, the problems were rectified promptly.

The property

Atlantic View is one of a small group of cottages in the hamlet of Halgabron, set between the historic villages of Tintagel and Boscastle, within 10 minutes walk of the stunning North Cornwall coast.

From here you can walk to the sandy cove of Bossiney Haven via the spectacular Rocky Valley and cliff steps down to the beach below. As well as its own small garden and patio with views across the fields to the sea, Atlantic View shares with its neighbours a large lawned play area with picnic tables and BBQ.

The cottage is cleverly arranged in a reverse style to take full advantage of the superb views.

The first floor living/kitchen/diner is contemporary, stylish and fully open plan.

Glazed doors lead to twin Juliet balconies, perfect for admiring the ever changing seascape just outside, and for those out of season breaks, the large wood burning stove adds extra warmth.

On the ground floor are three bedrooms, a double and a bunk bedded room both with sea views, a second double room and a family bathroom.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 6 miles; Wadebridge 12 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Beautiful Trebarwith Strand is close by and Bossiney Cove is within 10 minutes walk. Surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive.
