The property

Tintagel 1.2 miles.

Strand House is a perfectly placed three-storey Victorian house in Treknow, Cornwall, featuring countryside views, generous gardens, and off-road parking for five cars.

Positioned near the beach and welcoming eight guests and one well-behaved pet, it is a characterful base for families or friends exploring the North Cornish coast.

Original Victorian floor tiles set the tone in the entrance hall, leading into a sitting room where a feature fireplace and Smart TV create a setting for shared evenings.

The separate snug offers another place to gather, with its own feature fireplace, sofa, and piano ready for musical moments.

Exposed timber and original flagstone flooring continue the period character into the kitchen/diner, where an oil-fired range cooker stands ready for preparing group meals.

Outside, the furnished front terrace provides a spot for morning drinks, while the multi-tiered rear garden combines a patio and lawn with further seating areas.

Four bedrooms comprise three doubles, including one with a Smart TV and en-suite bathroom, and a second-floor twin.

Two additional bathrooms provide a choice of baths and showers.

From Treknow, follow countryside routes towards the coast and spend the day exploring the surrounding scenery.

Nearby Trebarwith offers a beach for family days by the sea, whether paddling at the water’s edge, walking across the sand, or pausing to take in the coastal outlook.

Venture into Tintagel to explore its town centre, browse the shops, and stop at one of its cafés or restaurants.

Walkers can lace up their boots and discover the area’s coastal and countryside routes, returning to Treknow as the changing landscape marks the journey home.

Back at the house, gather around the dining table, play the piano, or step into the garden as another Cornish day draws to a close.

Bring family and friends together beside the North Cornwall coast at Strand House.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination, surrounded by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and within a short distance is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a short but scenic drive.
