  • “The Miner's Rest holiday cottage is a little gem situated in a great location for exploring all the nooks and crannies of Cornwall.”

It's very spacious, clean and has everything you need, even dog baskets and blankets for your four legged friends. The sofa is very comfy for relaxing on in the evenings and the garden area is lovely too. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. The scones, clotted cream and jam on arrival was lovely too, thank you

The property

Nestled in the lovely village of Troon in Mid-West Cornwall, on the fringes of Camborne and the sweeping coastline, is Miner's Rest.

This characterful cottage boasts a contemporary-style interior and is well-suited to families and friends looking to tour this remarkable region.

Make yourselves at home in the open-plan living room, where you can gather for a hearty meal around the dining table cooked up in the well-equipped kitchen, or slump down in one of the bean bag chairs with a good book and glance up at scenes of wildlife in the flourishing garden.

Take some time to relax and unwind into your evening in the sitting room, with the warmth from the woodburning stove taking the chill away from a cold winter’s night as you tune into the Smart TV.

Upstairs on the landing is a snug area for reading, with a desk and chair, should you wish to do any work while you are away.

The bedrooms comprise of a king-size and a twin (zip/link super king), while the family bathroom has a deep-soaking bath tub, perfect for coming in from a walk and soaking your muscles.

A warm summer's afternoon will invite you out into the rear enclosed garden, where you can light the barbecue and enjoy relaxed alfresco dining with your loved ones.

You have a number of essential amenities in the village, while Camborne is just a short distance away, offering so much more.

To keep you busy whilst staying here, brush up on the local history by visiting the ruins of Carn Brea Castle or the Bassett Monument, each located within a short drive.

Head out for the day to explore the stunningly beautiful Godrevy Heritage Coast, remembering to pack a picnic and simply enjoy the natural scenery.

Stroll the golden shores at Portreath and watch the surfers take on the waves or bask in the sunshine, you also have the World Heritage Site Heartlands and a plethora of walking and cycling trails to explore, such as The Great Flat Lode.

Visit the National Trust’s iconic Wheal Coates, positioned further up between Porthtowan and St. Agnes, atop towering cliffs that jut out into turquoise waters.

You can also uncover the delights of St. Ives, where you can visit the Tate art museum, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden or embark on an adventure along the South West Coast Path to Land's End, where you can brush up on your history and take your picture next to the iconic sign post.

A fabulous getaway to choose for your next Cornish holiday.
