  • "This property is the best we have ever stayed in ."

.. Firstly the presentation and cleanliness was excellent. The property is a very spacious size with everything you could ever need during a time away, fully equipped and beyond! Log burner worked wonderfully, and the bath was divine. Great location for coastal towns North and South. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

  • "Miner’s Rest was everything we could have wished for, and more!"

It was immediately obvious that a lot of thought had gone into the needs of guests, and the owners should be commended for their attention to detail! However, it is highly unlikely that we shall be making a return visit due to the lack of parking available! We arrived on Friday evening, and parked in front of the property, and the car remained there over Saturday night. On the Sunday morning, our car was ticketed by a traffic enforcement officer who pointed out that the double yellow lines, which appeared to have been painted over and were barely, were still live and so we were obliged to pay the £35 fine! Finding a parking space close to the property was the cause of much frustration, given that we had my 80 year old mother-in-law with us! Thumbs up for the property, but thumbs firmly down for the lack of parking!

Our two big dogs fitted in easy en we made great walks form the cottage itself. A lot to see and do within a circle of 25 miles and beyond. The well equiped cottage was a very good base and filled all our expectations. Good firm bed, good kitchen, nice living space. Our suggestion is to replace the couch in the living space, the sitting is a bit soft.

We stayed for a week in June and had a fantastic holiday. The cottage is bigger than expected with everything you need for a self catering holiday, the kitchen was very well equipped. Only downside is Troon doesn’t have much except a Morrisons daily right over the road. A visit to Croust Hut by the mine for breakfast is a must. Parking is a bit tricky but we always found a spot in the road behind Morrisons. Would visit again!

Highly recommend!

Such a beautiful space inside this seemingly small cottage. Every detail has been carefully thought of by the owner. Amazing shower and comfortable beds too. We found the woods near Pendarves Equestrian just down the road we're a magical spot to walk our spaniel with a stream running through and all the bluebells were out. The parking on the street was always available you just might have to go down a bit from the house and walk up but not an issue at all. The location worked and we travelled to & visited many parts of Cornwall. St Ives is less than 1/2 hour away and was one of our favourites! Overall our stay was lovely and we will be back. The only thing to raise and isn’t an issue or concern but the owners might want to know, is that the hallway/entrance had a smell, which sometimes came into the lounge. • "This property really has the wow factor when you walk in."

The living space is vast and the kitchen is gorgeous and well equipped. So much thought into what is needed when you're on holiday. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. There are a few disappointments and I loved this cottage but parking is tricky and I knew this when I booked. Not much you can do about it which I understand. The email I received from the owner was really appreciated and they mentioned their housekeeper has very high standards but I can't agree with this. There was a big cobweb around the fire extinguisher in the kitchen- looked like it had been there a while too, also cobwebs in the bathroom. The microwave could of had a wipe over- removing the dust. The fruit bowl (ornament on the dining table) had a long curly hair in. The garden had a number of weeds which just need to be attended to. The clothes rail in the bedroom was dusty. The handsoap in the bathroom ran out on the 4th day which was a surprise when there was only 2 of us and we were out for most of the day. I know these things sound trivial but it does make a difference to your holiday experience. If the property owner isn't aware of the above issues then they can't rectify them for future guests.

The cottage itself has been renovated beautifully by Sam which makes it so unique. Plenty of spaces to park and yes it’s near the corner shop where there are people stopping and parking to visit it but really this isn’t a issue at all inside you don’t hear the road noise which isn’t a busy main road it’s so relaxing and quiet inside the cottage and garden. It’s has many lovely walks nearby our favourite being The Loe Bar Beach and The Loe lakes walks, there are a lots of lovely NTrust places to visit locally too. The nearest fish and chips, always a must when on holiday, was Cousin’s Jacks they were lovely. We will definitely return to Miners Rest when we want to holiday in Cornwall again wouldn’t even think about looking for a different cottage as you wouldn’t find another as nice as this one. • "This was our second stay at Miner’s Rest as the first experience was so great!"

We stayed for over 4 weeks in total while we relocated to Cornwall, and this house couldn’t have been better for us. I was worried about staying in a holiday cottage for this length of time as they are often not equipped for longer stays and more than a week can be frustrating, however this was not the case and we could have happily moved in permanently! This was truly a home from home for us and staying here was a pleasure.

  • "This is an amazing cottage!"

It is tastefully decorated, very high quality furnishings and very well thought out. It is even better than the pictures look and we felt very welcome, thank you. Really well equipped kitchen in terms of utensils, crockery, pans etc. Great quality linen. Beautiful bathroom. Loads of useful stuff for our dog (he felt very welcome too!). WiFi was spot on, no issues with streaming Netflix etc. And lots of extras you don’t necessarily expect but make the stay even better, like a TV in the kitchen diner, ice maker, lots of storage, and areas to sit in addition to the lounge (if you can tear yourself away from the sofa and woodburner!).

  • "This was a very last minute booking and we couldn't believe what a stunning cottage we found ourselves in."

From the beautiful local art on the walls to the coffee machine and dog covers for the chairs, everything had been thought of and carefully arranged by the very helpful owner to give us a relaxing stay. Having a convenience store and excellent chip shop right around the corner and a children's small park and beautiful woods for dog walks just down the road made this ideal for our family. Thank you!

Take some time to relax and unwind into your evening in the sitting room, with the warmth from the woodburning stove taking the chill away from a cold winter’s night as you tune into the Smart TV.

Upstairs on the landing is a snug area for reading, with a desk and chair, should you wish to do any work while you are away.

The bedrooms comprise of a king-size and a twin (zip/link super king), while the family bathroom has a deep-soaking bath tub, perfect for coming in from a walk and soaking your muscles.

A warm summer's afternoon will invite you out into the rear enclosed garden, where you can light the barbecue and enjoy relaxed alfresco dining with your loved ones.

You have a number of essential amenities in the village, while Camborne is just a short distance away, offering so much more.

To keep you busy whilst staying here, brush up on the local history by visiting the ruins of Carn Brea Castle or the Bassett Monument, each located within a short drive.

Head out for the day to explore the stunningly beautiful Godrevy Heritage Coast, remembering to pack a picnic and simply enjoy the natural scenery.

Stroll the golden shores at Portreath and watch the surfers take on the waves or bask in the sunshine, you also have the World Heritage Site Heartlands and a plethora of walking and cycling trails to explore, such as The Great Flat Lode.

Visit the National Trust’s iconic Wheal Coates, positioned further up between Porthtowan and St. Agnes, atop towering cliffs that jut out into turquoise waters.

You can also uncover the delights of St. Ives, where you can visit the Tate art museum, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden or embark on an adventure along the South West Coast Path to Land's End, where you can brush up on your history and take your picture next to the iconic sign post.
