  • "Absolutely Fabulous."

Was so good, the first thing i did when i arrived home was to book again for next year. Home from home, clean comfortable, everything you could possibly want/need is provided. Milk, biscuits and cream tea left was a nice touch. Location served as a great base to explore different parts of cornwall.

  • "Miners rest is a lovely cottage so much so the wife has been given ideas."

It makes for a ideal base in order to explore Cornwall. There wasn’t anything the cottage needed apart from some bin liners and maybe some bleach for cleaning the toilet. It has given us the bug for holiday cottages, but next time we will be looking for somewhere closer to the beach aswell as parking and a more a tourist area.

Sam is highly organised and gave us every bit of information we needed. The cottage was very homely and welcoming. As a family (including the dogs) had an excellent holiday and will definitely return in the future.

It’s a great location for exploring the nearby walks and mining trails and it’s only a short drive to the coast, in particular we visited the beaches at Portreath and Porthtowan. The owner was very welcoming and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed.

  • "What an amazing place - literally everything has been carefully thought about and provided."

The kitchen is fabulously equipped, there's plenty of space if you're a family sharing or for two couples. Super clean and modern throughout but still retaining lots of character. There's a very handy shop across the road, which was well stocked. The communication with Sam was perfect for us and the customised (vegan) welcome pack was such a lovely gesture. We absolutely loved our time at the Miner's Rest and would not hesitate to re-book.

  • "My partner, my dog and I rate the Miner's Rest an absolute 10/10!"

Even though the pictures are great already, they don't live up to how amazing this property is in person. We had everything we needed and more! And whenever we were in need of anything, we just popped across the street to get from the shops (which is much bigger than we thought it would be). The property was impeccably clean and so well equipped, for us as well as for our dog. We all felt so comfortable straight upon our arrival and settled in very nicely. The decoration made it feel like a HOME, not just a holiday home. The property owner was great in communicating with us and came back to any questions we had pretty much immediately. I cannot recommend staying in the Miner's rest enough! We will definitely be back.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in Cornwall - the cottage was spotless/beautifully clean, comfortable, really well stocked and to a high spec."

We had everything we needed for a week stay, plenty of room and Sam was a fantastic property owner. We received such a warm welcome to the property and felt we received brilliant helpful emails/information ahead of our stay. We felt very reassured with the cleanliness/high standards of protection re covid, thank you. There was plenty of space for two people + 1x dog - the dog had bowls, mat, blankets, towels, poo bags, beds etc provided too, which was very thoughtful. The log fire was great, heated floor brilliant and great shower/bathroom with washing machine facilities too. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend- we’d love to come back! We would advise travelling with a car so you can access towns across Cornwall. It’s central so can head north/south easily. There is no parking at the cottage but fairly accessible street parking nearby, it wasn’t ever a problem for us. The shop next door was extremely handy! Thank you for a fantastic honeymoon!

  • "Wonderful Cottage."

Well furnished, comfortable, clean, safe back garden for the dog. Owner was very good and communicated excellently. It’s also situated across the road from a shop with all your basic needs. Location wise it’s great as you are not too far of a drive away from many coastal towns. Also welcomed with scones, jam & clotted cream. Highly recommend.

  • "The cottage is beautiful."

The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots and pans so we could have a lovely mini Christmas dinner. Far better stocked than anywhere else we have stayed. The bathroom is huge. Stunning bath and a large shower cubicle was better than some hotels. The garden was secure for our dogs who particularly enjoyed the underfloor heating in the lounge. There are walks on the moors and woods on your doorstep. Beaches are a quick drive and several supermarkets within a few miles. Parking was never an issue for us but we have no problem walking a few yards to the front door. Sam is a great host. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. No doubt we will be back.

The owner also sent detailed information about the measures taken to prevent risk of Corona virus, which was very reassuring. The sofa was exceptionally cofortable & the cottage really well appointed. The only reason we didn't give 5 out of 5 on comfort is the mattresses were slightly firm for us, but then we do prefer a soft mattress. This iis a personal preference so don't let it put you off. We stayed for over 4 weeks in total while we relocated to Cornwall, and this house couldn’t have been better for us. I was worried about staying in a holiday cottage for this length of time as they are often not equipped for longer stays and more than a week can be frustrating, however this was not the case and we could have happily moved in permanently! WiFi was spot on, no issues with streaming Netflix etc. And lots of extras you don’t necessarily expect but make the stay even better, like a TV in the kitchen diner, ice maker, lots of storage, and areas to sit in addition to the lounge (if you can tear yourself away from the sofa and woodburner!).
