  • "Beautiful property, very cosy, we took our puppy with us and there was plenty of room for his very large crate downstairs."

    Enclosed garden safe for your dog and an outside tap to rinse him down. Comfortable beds and so many thoughtful touches to make us feel super welcome. Well equipped kitchen with all the necessities. Great base for local exploration, 3 visits in 3 days to Portreath beach for us plus a lovely day at Pendennis Castle and the point. Locals so friendly (particularly to the dog) would 100% return.

  • "This was a clean, warm and comfortable cottage."

    Our 4 dogs loved the large enclosed garden. Its position enables guests to visits lots of interesting places towns/national trust buildings/beaches etc. The only thing to consider is the only toilet is downstairs which means negotiating the steep stairs during the night if you need to use the facility. I would definitely recommend Candle Croft to family & friends

  • "We had an amazingly relaxed 10 days at Candle Croft."

    Very quiet yet a relatively short journey to Falmouth, St Ives and Truro… and the amazing north coast beaches just minutes away… we will really miss our daily walk on the beach November proved to be a great time of year to visit Cornwall and Canfle Croft was an ideal base

  • "A well appointed cottage, perfect as a base to explore western Cornwall."

    Easy drives to beaches north and south, and good access to Lands End, the Lizard, and the other other tourist attractions of the area. The welcome extended to dogs, with treats left, plenty of dog bowls, and sofa prepared with a throw. The garden was more than secure enough for our two dogs. Very satisfied regards value for money, and recommend for the explorer who also fancies being only a short drive from supermarkets and takeaways!

    Nice clean property in a good location to explore the coast and numerous sites across Cornwall. The facilities at the house are good for both people and dog, but recommend an indoor clothes airer to be added for when the weather gets colder and wet.

  • "Beautiful Cottage, stayed for 2 nights, comfy sofa and bed."

    Awesome having the hose pipe and tap outside as we spent all weekend down the beach and stopped getting sand in the house. Recycling great as well. However, 9 am check out was possibly too early and quite a bit of a rush. Thank you!

  • "Cottage was adequate, but for a few things, internet was in and out, iron but no ironing board, ultra violet fly killer but no vacuum cleaner, cushions on garden furniture were soaking wet obviously the covers were leaking, one small frying pan, inadequate kitchen knives for preparing food."

  • "Booked Candle Croft very late in the day."

    Wanted to book more than 3 nights but the cottage was do popular that only 3 nights was available. To be honest I was stunned to find somewhere to stay at such a good price! We arrived at Candle Croft and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the place. Kitchen was well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine etc etc. Beautiful lounge and conservatory and two bedrooms. Beds were amazing. I haven’t slept so good in years! Garden area was extremely peaceful and good to relax in after a hard day on the beach. I would recommend Castle Croft to all. Our 3 dogs lived it. Thank you to the owners who checked everything was ok via email a couple of times 6 out of 5 stars.

  • "Candle Croft is a supremely comfortable and homely cottage - immaculately clean."

    It’s in a perfect location for exploration - walks on the doorstep if you have dogs - otherwise nowhere in West Cornwall is too far. Lovely garden with ample seating. Well worth a visit - my dogs settled quickly and on arrival, I immediately felt at home with the relaxing decor and design.

  • "The cottage was beautiful the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in everywhere was spotlessly clean."

    The only downside was that the kitchen tap on the sink was faulty and wouldn't tun off properly. There was no iron or hairdryer provided and no bread knife only dinner knives .no ladle for soup needed more thought on the kitchen provision. Having the only toilet and shower off the kitchen downstairs was the main drawback and would never have worked if there were 4 of us. Had to negotiate the steep stairs and through the lounge to get t0 the toilet in the night.

    So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Candle Croft while you explored stunning Cornwall. Delighted you had a great sleep & thank you for saying it was spotlessly clean as this is so important for us We immediately fitted a new kitchen tap & added extra kitchen utensils so thank you for highlighting these 2 small issues as we aim to give every guest the most relaxing break. REDRUTH

Falmouth 10.5 miles; St Ives 16 miles.

Redruth is a small town in Cornwall, dating in parts from the 12th century. It was once the centre of Cornish mining history and is now at the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is a selection of shops, pubs and eateries, and the town holds a variety of continental markets throughout the year. Attractions close to Redruth include the Carn Brea Trail, The Great Flat Load, which is fantastic for cyclist and dog walkers alike, Tolgus Tin Stream Works, and the Tehidy Country Park. The beach at Portreath is a 10 minute drive, or 2.5 miles from Redruth. The entire stunning North coast is a suburb playground for surfing and all watersports, with resorts such as St Ives, Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula and the whole Lizard Peninsula within easy reach. A superb destination for your Cornish holiday.
