  • "We had a great stay."

    Always wanted to stay right on the Strand, finally managed it. The sunsets are incomparable here. Both restaurants are lovely, and luckily the Strand cafe opened on the day we were leaving and we managed to fit that in too. The round walk to Tintagel and back ends right opposite the house, which was a nice surprise.

  • "This is our 7th visit to Cliffside since it first opened."

    We absolutely love this property and it’s location. The house has everything you could possibly want and the beds are super comfortable. Beautiful decoration and a high level of cleanliness add to the overall fabulous experience. Set at the top of the valley it is a short walk to the beach but gives you peace and quiet. Tintagel is just a short car drive or you can walk through the beautiful greenery or across the cliffs. Also Miranda and Ben who own the property are lovely people and are swift to sort out any minor problems you may have. We shall be returning as it has become a haven of calm for us over the years and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

  • "Cliffside is a fantastic house to stay in."

    Couldn’t fault it. Superbly decorated, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and well equipped kitchen (with my personal favourite - a separate grill and oven!). We have stayed at Trebarwith Strand many times, and although this house was a tiny bit further away from the beach than our usuals, it didn’t matter as the house was so perfect. Would definitely book again!

  • "What a gorgeous, spacious, beautifully furnished cottage."

    It was well equipped and very clean. There's a great outdoor space for dining and an area to dry wetsuits and towels after surfing. We managed to park our car on the side of the road so didn't have to pay parking charges. All the instructions in the cottage were perfectly clear and everything made for a great holiday - we were all so sad to leave. We have stayed in Trebarwith a number of times and this was by far the best cottage we have stayed in - we will definitely stay again - thank you!

As the name suggests, this quaint property sits imposingly on the side of the cliffs leading down to the beautiful sandy beach, just under two miles from the village of Tintagel.

Unwind in the refreshing sitting room where you can sink into the large sofa with the woodburning stove roaring or use this as a space to plan for the day’s activities.

Just behind rests a dining table where you can enjoy mealtimes amidst your loved ones, after taking advantage of a fantastic range of appliances in the sleek, well-equipped kitchen to whip up a delicious homecooked meals.

Amble the stairs to reach the stylish bedrooms, including the master bedroom with a zip/link, super-king-size bed which can be arranged as a twin, plus a king-size with en-suite shower and a single room with trundle bed.

Completing the interior of Cliffside is a sleek family bathroom which has gleaming tiled walls, a bath and shower over.

Just a short walk will take you to the ever-popular Trebarwith beach, a long stretch of golden sand backed by flat rocks and steep cliffs.

Close by you can also tour Merlin’s Cave, Tintagel Castle, and the National Trust sites of Glebe Cliff and Tintagel Old Post Office.

Well-positioned to spend the day in Boscastle, Polzeath and Padstow, you’ll have plenty to see and do.

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and within a short distance is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a short but scenic drive.
