Salty Sea Dog

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at the Salty Sea Dog.

What a dream……we’ll certainly return in the future. Very handy having everything on your doorstep - Trebarwith Surf Shop, Gift Shop, cute Cafe and of course - Port William pub/restaurant. We spent many hours sitting watching gorgeous sun sets, eating lovely food, walking our pooch of the sands at the beach (low tide), reading and exploring. The apartment has everything you need. Finding the wardrobe space/cupboard in the master bedroom made me squeal with delight. We had ‘his and hers’ dressing cupboards

What a lovely stay.

Your home is lovely and we enjoyed staying here. We love Trebarwith and this is our 3rd visit to the place. We enjoyed visiting Rock and getting the ferry to Padstow. Also a beautiful place to visit is St Nectans Glen which is close. You get to see a waterfall very peaceful and beautiful place. We also went coasteering at Praa Sands, brilliant fun, but also scary. Thank you for the welcome gifts of Cornish Cream Teas, was a great surprise when we arrived. We hope to back soon.

Although it was described as an apartment, we feel we should have been made aware there could be noise from the apartment above.

During our stay we found this disturbing and unpleasant. The photos and the listing showed a chair and a sofa in the lounge area. There was no chair, just the sofa which was rather uncomfortable. There was 2 of us, had there been 4 people it would have been very cramped. It’s only suitable for a family with 2 young children or a couple. It was reasonably clean and well appointed (a few more mugs may be helpful). We went for a week over the Easter holiday and for the price we paid we don’t feel it represented good value for the money. Disappointed, didn’t meet our expectations and hopes.

Comfortable and clean. Good walks for those with strong legs or just to the beach, 100 mts away. Down side this trip, the wi-fi kept coming and going, but we lived with it. Maybe the strong winds were blowing the signal away

We loved our stay at The Salty Sea Dog.

The property was spotless on arrival with milk, Cookies for us and Biscuits for the dogs, a lovely touch.Being on one level was perfect for our senior dogs. The property was cosy and warm, the bed was the best with fluffy pillows and duvet, making a good nights sleep. The lighting was great creating a cosy mood and there were lots of plug sockets too on hand.Tim and Jess have thought of everything. If you want a relaxing break, away from the hussle and bussle,The Salty Sea Dog is perfect, we will definately be booking up again.

Lovely location right on the coast and furnishings of the highest standard.

Perfect place to explore North Cornwall with pub and coffee shop in walking distance if you don't want to get in the car.

The Salty Sea Dog was a wonderful discovery for us, it's located in a beautiful Cornish cove and furnished with all the creature comforts for our stay.

We 100% recommend it, especially for couples seeking a quiet getaway in a romantic hideaway.

Top spec, can’t fault it. Wonderful location, ice cream and gifts a step away and pub just a short walk. Would love to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Salty Sea Dog.

The accomodation was modern, well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was nothing more we could have asked for. The location was excellent as well. We enjoyed many walks and were able to drive easily to nearby locations. The Port William pub which is a two minute walk away was excellent for our evening meals when we didnt feel like cooking. We would thoroughly recommend the Salty Sea Dog.

From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by the owners thoughtful communication and attention to detail. The cottage is absolutely lovely—peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfectly located to enjoy the charm of the Cornish coast. Despite forecasts predicting rain, we were lucky to enjoy mostly dry days and even some sunshine, which made exploring the surrounding nature all the more enjoyable. The quiet atmosphere and scenic views created the ideal setting to relax and recharge. As we headed home, we left with lovely memories and gratitude for a truly restful escape. We'll definitely be back, and would recommend the Salty Sea Dog to anyone seeking a serene and cozy hideaway by the sea.

Great set up.

.one thing the lights over the dining table are to low and you catch them with your head. Other than that its all great.

We had a very enjoyable time at salty sea dog from the 13th to the 20th of June 25.

The accommodation was spot on. Very comfortable with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The beach is only around 50mtrs from the front door and what a fantastic view from the patio while eating your meals. There's a nice caffe across the road and a beach shop next door to it selling everything you need for the beach. There is also a good pub up on the back lane behind ssd. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Simply can’t fault The Salty Sea Dog as booked on Sykes Cottages.

I was kept well informed about my stay (I downloaded the app also), found the accommodation to be cosy and idyllic (FAB view!) and if it wasn’t 8 hours away, I’d visit every year, especially now my daughter has taken to body boarding in the waves. Thank you so much to the owners of Salty Sea Dog and to Sykes.

Great little apartment.

Everything you could possibly need. We only had one problem and that was how high the top bunk bed was, out grandson was to scared to sleep in it, so I had him in with me and my husband slept in bunkbed. But that was just a problem for us No reflection on the cottage. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Fantastic little cottage ultra clean and tidy.

Could not get a better position near the sea. Great amenities ie cafe and bar / restaurant just a few yards away. I would definitely recommend the Salty Sea Dog to anyone looking for a cottage by the sea.

We had a lovely stay here.

The property was very comfortable, very clean, lovely decor and everything you could need was there. It was situated in a great location for the beach and there is everything on your doorstep, 2 pubs, a lovely cafe and gift shop. You can spend the whole week there without having to travel around. You can enjoy your evening meal outside with the sun on the terrace and a lovely view of the sea. I would return again.

We had a fantastic stay at Salty Sea Dog – a real gem of a property in a lovely location.

It’s perfectly placed for exploring the coast and enjoying scenic walks and it’s incredibly dog friendly, which made our break all the more enjoyable. The property itself is well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Communication with the owners was excellent throughout and they clearly put a lot of thought into making guests feel welcome. The treats left for both us and our dog were a lovely touch and very much appreciated! We’d happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a dog-friendly coastal escape.

Loved this small family cottage with great facilities, clean, well decorated and most of all its excellent setting which is literally a pebbles throw from the sea shore.

We had a lovely week at the salty sea dog.

You cannot beat the location of the cottage just a few meters from a gorgeous cove, the weather was kind to us and we were able to walk on the beach and coastal path every day. The cottage is very well equipped if you want to cook for yourselves or the Port William pub is on your doorstep with great views, especially at sunset. There is also a cafe across the road which was closed for refurbishment while we were there but opens in a couple of weeks. We would definitely recommend the salty sea dog.

Very sweet place, good location for the beach.

However I do feel that floor plans should be part of the listing. Bedroom very small with no storage and no room to even live out of your suitcase!! Would be useful to have information about the tide times as the beach was often hidden!!! Thank you for milk and biscuits a nice touch!

Such a special place, very comfortable, cosy cottage with everything we needed and more, in the most amazing setting.

Overall, a well appointed and comfortable place to stay in a very beautiful location with great walks along the dramatic coast and cliffs.

Great pub and cafe within 2 minutes walk further enhanced our stay and dogs welcome everywhere. Constructive feedback - pre-stay information stated that a cream tea would be waiting for us on arrival - it wasn’t. Also, no hot water available from kitchen and bathroom taps - not a major problem as dishwasher available and shower was hot.

Great stay. SSD is the perfect location and the terrace is the place to relax and enjoy the view. I would recommend and will return.

The Salty Sea Dog, what a great find.

We discovered Trebarwith by chance and have returned each year since then, This is by far and away the best cottage we have stayed in. The thought that has gone into this cottage is top notch. A very well equipped and good-spec kitchen with washing machined and dishwasher and no shortage of cookwear and utensils. The shower, which delivered good pressure was very welcome as water pressures in remote locations can be hit and miss. No such problems here! There is nothing to fault it. A great outside space, with the fencing being a good touch to prevent gatherings sitting on the low wall, gives you a good spot to view the sea and let any four legged holiday makers have a bit of a roam. Proximity to the beach, and a great pub are other major plus points. A reserved parking spot adds another positive to what can be a very busy area to get parked up in prime holiday weeks. The owners were friendly in any comms that took place and the welcome pack and information was enough to get you settled but not too much to make you think you were going to have to sit an exam like some cottages do! We were a couple with a small dog and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

Simply Stunning & Beautiful Magical Apartment.

Absolutely Amazing Place & Space. So well thought out and spacious & everything was just perfect. The kitchen is stylish and has everything you need to make cooking etc a breeze, The welcome Milk & Biscuits was a nice touch after a long drive. Having a full size table was nice to sit & have meals together. The beds were so comfortable with top quality Linen, Quilts & Pillows & WOW , the quilt & pillows were like sleeping on fluffy clouds," BEST SLEEP EVER!!" even the bunk bed which is of a good single size for an adult was extremely comfortable and cosy. The shower was hot & a good water pressure. Great to have a secure patio for my dog Smudge and myself to sit outside and watch the world go by listening to the stream right outside and birds singing , beautiful sunsets & beach right on your doorstep and your own private car parking space just seconds from the apartment, what's not to like "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING , EXCEPT HAVING TO LEAVE " We will defiantly be back.

Quality furnishings and would definitely stay again

Trebarwith Strand will always be one of my favourite spots in Cornwall so being able to stay right on the Strand was magical and Salty Sea Dog did not disappoint.

Firstly, the location of the cottage is outstanding. Being able to walk out of the gate and onto the beach with the dog was bliss. The accommodation itself has been done so beautifully. It was comfortable, cosy and clean with everything you could possible want or need. We loved it and will definitely be back. Thank you!

What's not to love?

Trebarwith Strand is a stunning location and Salty Sea Dog is right at the fore. A wonderfully clean and fabulously appointed apartment with a secure front yard from where you can enjoy views of the sea and dramatic Gull Rock at sunset. There's a private parking bay within a few yards, and space to pull up outside to unload. The accommodation was cosy with a thoughful layout. Especially useful touches of a fan heater in the kitchen to give a lovely blast of heat when you first get back (well, we did choose to holiday in February!) and of course access to the coastal path, and the beach caves (at low tide). Do eat at the Port William - I was obsessed with the gravy! But when not eating out, you have everything you need at SSD. Everyone, whether local or visiting, is so firendly here. Very highly recommended.

We found the Salty Sea Dog very clean and comfortable.

The bed and pillows were amazing, good quality bed linen. It would be helpful to have some information on what to do with the rubbish. We would definitely return.

It was a lovely stay at the salty sea dog.

The milk, bread, butter and cake were a nice touch. It was a perfect location for getting out and about, pretty central. Great for dog walks, surfing, or just a place to get wawy from it all. The pub was great, really friendly and welcoming of the dogs. We would definitely return and will be recommending to friends and family.

We had a wonderful week at Salty Sea Dog in August.

The house interior is beautiful and very comfortable for our family of 4 and dog. The location is amazing, just a stones throw from the amazing beach and a 2 minute walk to the pub. My favourite part was sitting on the front terrace with a glass of wine watching the sun set over the sea, bliss!

We enjoyed a fantastic holiday in an amazing location.

The housekeeper and owners were incredibly quick to respond and help when we had a problem which they solved almost immediately. Would highly recomend.

The SSD is in a perfect location, right next to the sea.

It is so amazing to get up in the morning, pour yourself a coffee and go outside and sit in the front enclosed terrace and watch the waves crash down on the rocks. The apartment itself was very quaint and the perfect place to relax with full amenities and a very nice pub and restaurant set behind the house on the hill side which meant if you didn't want to leave Trebarwith you don't need to. All in all a perfect base for exploring the endless beauty of Cornwall. Thanks Paul

Great location close to the beach.

We had a fantastic week in Trebarwith and Salty Sea Dog was a perfect base.

Very clean and had excellent facilities, including great kitchen appliances and utensils. Fantastic to have such a good smart TV in place too, with easy access to all streaming platforms. Second bedroom is very small and there seemed to be minimal running hot water, but these were minor quibbles and didn’t get in the way of us having a fabulous break!

Can I suggest some decent sized wine glasses would be a plus, plus the hot water is a little fickle!! Otherwise amazing

We had an amazing holiday at Salry Sea Dog.

It is beautifully decorated, well equipped and extremely comfortable. It felt like home as soon as we stepped through the door. Our two dogs completely relaxed straight away and were so happy sitting in the doorway and watching the world go by as it is fully enclosed and perfect for dogs. The location is perfect, a few metres from the beach and with the added bonus of a pub and cafe on your doorstep and fabulous walks close by, you couldn’t ask for more

A lovely cottage apartment in an EXCELLENT location!

Really comfortable and well equipped. However needs a broom and a mop and bucket, the latter needed for the bathroom floor where moisture levels remained high following a shower. This is even though the extractor fan was on throughout the shower. Though left dry, the bathroom floor would have small puddles later. Lovely otherwise and we enjoyed our stay so much that we didn't want to go home!

This was a really great property.

The location is absolutely magical (so close to the beach at Trebarwith Strand). The cottage is well-insulated so is warm and quiet; it is beautifully presented and has really good facilities. We had a very relaxing, lovely break there. I would also highlight that whilst Sykes Holiday Cottages informed me beforehand that there was no bedding available at the property, this proved to be incorrect - all bedding was provided. A wonderful stay and I definitely hope to return.
