  • "You need to remove yourself from this holiday letting company."

They are useless. You also should offer a welcome pack, after a 6 hour drive it would be nice to have some milk. The house is beautiful and spacious but the kitchen was dirty when we arrived, beds were not made up as requested, no card to celebrate the fact it was my mums 60th and has just recovered from breast cancer. Shower door is missing, blind was broken. Garden was a mess. Not worth the money and I will be following this up. I have already made a complaint and surprise, surprise no one has got back to me.

Thankyou for taking the time to comment on your stay. We are afraid that 'welcome packs' are down the discretion of each owner. Some guests do prefer coming into a completely empty property. We apologise for the beds and some of the maintenance issues, we are sorting internally. Congratulations on your mother recovering from breast cancer, fantastic news! - We hope you still managed to enjoy your visit despite these issues and would love to welcome you back to North Cornwall in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "Lovely home, we normally stay closer to the centre of Rock and this was a bit of a concern however it’s a great spot and we would definitely stay again."

Local pub was very good and a couple of pop ups for coffee in the locality.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay and had the perfect base to explore the local area from. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "The only reason I’ve gave you a nine is because there was no bedroom downstairs and wasn’t disabled friendly as I am a senior I found it very hard to go up the stairs and the three rooms downstairs could’ve been easy, turned into a bedroom but other than that, we had a brilliant time."

Lovely house a bit of paint needed here in there but overall I will give you 10 out of 10

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. • "We had a wonderful short stay at Artemis."

This contemporary home was stunning along with the modern interior, tastefully decorated and felt very homely. The location of the property was perfect for us, great beaches along with excellent pubs and restaurants, we had an amazing Sunday Roast at Paul Ainsworth - The Mariners at Rock overlooking the estuary to Padstow. We would totally recommend this holiday home to others.

  • "Artemis is a beautiful home in a great location."

Lovely and clean, well equipped and spacious living area. Bedrooms were gorgeous, although we didn’t utilise them all. Kitchen had everything we needed and more, the games area in the garage was great and the piano was a lovely touch. Board games galore were perfect for the rainy evenings in. Washer, dryer and downstairs shower were a great convenience. The Pityme Inn just a stones throw away, nice for drinks and dining. Also visited the Bluntrock Brewery on a couple of occasions for drinks and guest food trucks, just 5 mins walk. Perfect location for Rock, Polzeath and Port Isaac, all within 15 minute drive or ferry to Padstow. Although our party was smaller, this house is the perfect family getaway with 3 separate lounge areas. Secure garden for our dog so no worries there. This place definitely deserves 5 stars, house behind mentioned in previous reviews nearly complete apart from interiors as far as I can see, at the time of writing Sept 2023 so no issues there with regards to noise.

Thank you for your lovely comments they are highly appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back in the very near future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

  • "What a lovely house to stay in, you can tell this is much loved home by the owners, it has a warm feeling about it."

We stayed the Christmas week and we were greeted with a real Christmas tree which was a nice touch and a foil tray to cook our Turkey in. This a fantastic place to stay. We've stayed in Rock at 7 different houses and this one had everything we needed to make our time away perfect and we can't wait to return. Thank you best wishes for 2023 P. S Really love the John Betjeman drawing.

  • "The property is beautiful and well equipped."

Unfortunately, some areas of the house were not very clean, toothpaste splashes in the bathrooms and dust and cobwebs in other areas. There was also dog mess left in the garden. The property really needs a deep clean. We also had a morning without water which was disappointing. We were told there was ‘some’ building work on the neighbouring property. In reality a house is being completely rebuilt running along the bottom of the garden. Currently at the roofing stage, this meant that we had noise, no privacy and our dog was constantly disturbed. Honest information about what was happening would have been appreciated. It’s a real shame as the property and our holiday experience could have been amazing…..

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay at Artemis. We're very sorry that you had to experience these issues during your stay. We have passed your comments onto house keeping regarding the cleanliness of the property. We are sorry that the building works were behind schedule and this had a knock on affect to your holiday, which was beyond our control- John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "We were told that there would be internal building work to be woken with banging and work men on the roof we have teenage girls with their window looking out to this!"

! Syke cottages should have kept up to date with what’s going on. It has ruined our holiday and will never trust syke cottages again

Thank you for leaving your feedback following your stay at Artemis. We are looking into the issue you have raised with the building works; we are really sorry that this impacted your stay. • "We love Rock and the layout of this property."

It has for double bedrooms, all with en-suite which is preferred. Downside is that two of the rooms do not have any hanging space, which proved to be annoying, particularly as this had been fed back on a previous occasion and would be easily fixed with a few coat hooks. My only other criticism, is that the cleanliness was not up to standard. There were numerous large cobwebs that I removed from various locations throughout the property. Having stayed at this property previously, the cleanliness was not of the usual standard.

Thank you for your comments. We will investigate these with the caretaking team and the owner. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We hope you enjoyed your stay regardless of these and would love to welcome you back in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We have stayed at Artemis numerous times over the past 3 years and love the house (all en-suite rooms being a huge bonus) and the location."

However, this year we noticed a huge change in the general cleanliness of the house and its facilities. The frying pans were unusable as the non stick coating was peeling off on both and there were no oven gloves. After contacting John Bray, we waited almost a week for both of these to be replaced so had to go out and buy our own in the meantime. Water wasn’t draining in one of the showers so we lifted the plug a little and found it to be thick with mould and hair. Another bathroom had brown marks on the side of the toilet, bath, and tiles like someone had vomited. The windows were filthy and covered in cobwebs, both inside and out. The outside bbq was a rusty piece of metal which was unusable. The wooden floors were dirty and the main rug in the living was covered in stains. We paid a lot of money for our 4 week stay and as much as we love the property it needs a really deep clean and some tlc by the owners and John Bray.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your stay! We're very sorry that you had to experience these issues during your stay but thank you for your patience and understanding, had we been made aware of the cleanliness issues on arrival we would of course have arranged to have sent a housekeeping team member to rectify this. We do try to check as many properties prior to arrival as possible but due to time restrictions we cannot check them all. Your comments have been passed on to the team at John Bray Cornish Holidays. We hope to welcome you back to north Cornwall in the future! Property Owner
