  • "We had a wonderful stay at Byre, a charming cottage in Camelford."

The property was very comfortable and cosy, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and spacious living room. The cottage was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, with a lot of character and charm. We especially enjoyed the log burner, which added to the warmth and ambience of the place. The cottage was located in a quiet and peaceful area, surrounded by beautiful countryside. It was a great base to explore the attractions in north Cornwall and the stunning beaches and coastal paths. Camelford itself was a quaint and friendly town, with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. We also appreciated the helpful information and tips included in the welcome folder. We would highly recommend Byre to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in Cornwall. We had a lovely stay and hope to return soon.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in Byre, it had everything we needed but there were one or two little 'niggles' - like the toaster not working which meant having to use the grill on the cooker BUT I had to clean the grill pan first before I could use it!"

The oven was much better, either. I did leave a note for the cleaner and told her that I'd had to clean the hob as well! Overall, it's a lovely spot and the cottages are set in pretty landscaped grounds which are well tended.

Thank you for your feedback. Always appreciated. Sorry to hear about the toaster but had you reported the "malfunction" we could certainly have sorted that out during your stay. However thank you for reporting it and for leaving the cleaner a note. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Byre Cottage. Kind regards Bernard & Rosemary Webber Property Owner

  • "Lovely accommodation and beautiful setting."

Only complaint we had was the mattress in the on suite bedroom was too soft and played our backs up. Also the fridge was leaking all the time onto the kitchen floor and if there were six people staying in the accommodation the fridge would not be big enough .But I must say again it was a really lovely place and we really enjoyed it and hopefully we will come back.

Thank you for your nice feedback. Always good to hear them. Sorry to hear about the mattress in the en-suite bedroom. Mattresses are always quite subjective . What suits one person doesn't always suit another. These mattresses were chosen for their "medium firmness" but we accept that some may find that a bit too soft. We have asked for the fridge to be looked at. It is possible that the drainage hole might have been slightly blocked/covered. We would certainly love to welcome you back again. • "We had a nice holiday and the property was ok but I wouldn’t go back."

Property wants a really good clean, floor is peeling up in dining area causing feet injury. Feels a bit like the minimum has been done. Wi-Fi is poor. Washing machines are pay only which is fine but they don’t work properly and seem pretty old and rusty. Games room needs an update with pool table not working. Grounds are well maintained though.

I know this is quite a long time to respond but wanted to check and correct where necessary. We have now had a completely new floor laid throughout the lounge as repairing the couple of sections that had lifted wasn't an option. The wi-fi has been checked and location moved and is now downloading at 77Mbps which for this area in Cornwall is excellent! Sorry to hear that the washing machines were not working properly but they are now. They don't come under our jurisdiction I'm afraid as they are a communal item for the complex but we do feed back the necessary comments. Similarly the Games room is a communal item but we chose not to advertise it. The property undergoes a thorough clean prior to each letting but your comments were passed to our cleaners We would like to thank you for your comments and hope we have explained our actions.
