  • "Thank you for preparing the cottage for us."

    It was very clean and comfortable. The little touches meant a lot: 2 x washing pods Kitchen roll HP Sauce Tea and biscuits It felt very welcoming. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. Diolch yn fawr! P.S. We enjoyed translating (or attempting to translate!) Cornish into Welsh, as the two languages have many similarities.

    It was by far beyond our expectations. I've been waiting for so long to visit Cornwall and 5 days were too little time. So difficult to leave this place, so grateful for the memorable time spent here. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We hope to be back here one day!

  • "I have been blessed with the weather, which has made my walks to Marazion and Newlyn a real treat."

    The cottage is just right for me, with all the facilities and comfort I could need. In fact, it is better than home! Having use of the garden is wonderful for relaxing. Jane has been so helpful and welcoming, and it has been such a pleasure to visit again. Best wishes.

  • "Lovely, cosy cottage, with a comfortable bed and chairs and an efficient shower; just what you want after a day of walking!"

    Jane is very friendly and helpful. The local pub is good for food if you fancy a day off from cooking, although I wouldn't recommend the herby chips, which are thin and aromatic! The graveyard around the church is an interesting place to explore too. The strip light in the kitchen needs replacing to make food preparation easier, but apart from that, this place is perfect

    Well furnished stood thy house, both warm and bright, a haven fair from morning into night. For all company it served with grace, a welcoming and comfortable place. Well placed it was upon Cornwall's noble shore. From east to west we wandered, seeking more; its setting fair did grant us leave to roam, yet ever gladly we returned to our home. Here merry hours and treasured days were spent, with laughter, joy, and sweet contentment. So take our thanks, good host, sincere and true, for happy memories made beneath thy roof anew.

  • "In our trip across Cornwall, we came across this lovely place."

    It has everything we could hope for. A TV for the wet evenings, and a cosy home to return to after our long days of exploring Penzance. Tesco is close by, which is very convenient. This place is, in our eyes, perfect for us and exactly what we look for when on holiday. We are looking forward to coming back again in the future!

GULVAL

Penzance 1.5 miles.

Gulval is a village in the Penwith district of Cornwall. Although historically a parish in its own right, Gulval was incorporated into the parishes of Penzance, Madron and Ludgvan in 1934, and like Heamoor, is now considered to be a suburb of Penzance. Gulval, however, still maintains its sense of charm and parts of the village church date back to the 12th century. Other features in the village include the 1910 granite drinking fountain in the centre of the square and the Coldstreamer Inn, allegedly one of the oldest. A charming collection of Victorian houses and cottages are also dotted around what was the village square. Why not wander into the centre of Penzance, appreciated for its abundance of palm trees and gardens full of sub-tropical plants, a sure sign that you have arrived somewhere unique. Also people can visit the surfing beaches of Sennen Cove, Porthcurno. Other nearby places of interest include Minack Theatre, St Michael’s Mount, Poldark Country, and Mousehole, making great days out for all ages.
