  • "Wow, what can I say about this beautiful cottage, the best we have ever stayed in!"

    Immaculate throughout with everything you could need for a great holiday. The view is stunning and the annexe brilliant for sitting out in the sun. In a great, quiet location with the added bonus of parking. We were very lucky with the weather and had quite a few sunny days. Porthleven is a lovely town with nice pubs and shops. We have booked to return next year!

  • "A beautiful and well equipped house all fitted out to the highest standard and having the use of the Net Loft was an extra bonus."

    The beds were very comfortable and guaranteed a great nights sleep. Brilliant views, very comfortable furnishings all in all the best property we’ve ever stayed at and we have been going to Porthleven for 20 years now. Only one small thing I would say is parking for two small cars or one large car but that might just be me. We will be back and this beautiful cottage is a credit to its owners.

  • "Been here for the past three years in February."

    Speaks for itself really that we're happy to return. Accommodation has all the facilities you'd wish for and hopefully we'll return in 2027. I would add that Sykes Cottages customer service is appalling and if the question you ask doesn't fit their AI bot, it goes to a phone line that never get's answered (waited 45 minutes and still no answer so gave up)

  • "Accommodation was to a very high standard- Home from home."

    ...everything you needed... Though I will say, we were very disappointed there were no Christmas decorations up- especially as our stay was xmas week, & had to spend £50.00 buying some trimmings & lights !

    Welcoming, comfortable and with stand out sea views. The ability to charge our electric car made touring the area a breeze. A wonderful place for a restful stay. We look forward to visiting again.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Loe Cottage which is very well equipped."

    Reverse layout works really well with large open plan kitchen / living area upstairs. Having a car charging station was a planned bonus if have have an EV or hybrid car which we do. Net Loft offers excellent daytime space & sitting out you have great coastal views. Owners are being let down by poor & inadequate cleaning of the outside areas - Terrace at Net Loft was a mess & needed thorough clean down, especially the outdoor furniture - All sofa/chair cushions being left outside uncovered and large cover was on floor in pile in a filthy condition, so needs throwing away & replacing - Just lucky furniture was dry when we arrived & after that we took the cushions indoors every night. Shame the cleaners have not maintained the Net Loft terrace & furniture as this area could be much better. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

  • "Excellent property, our favourite place to stay."

    A tranquil retreat that is completely unspoiled. The views are simply breathtaking. Cannot wait to return and have already booked for 2026, which will be the third year in a row at Loe cottage. Only thing missing is a fan in the property to cool the room on warner nights - although I know this is being picky as the sea is right adjacent.

  • "Loe cottage made for an excellent self catering week!"

    ! It was really clean and the kitchen was very well equipped, with luxuries such as a coffee machine and a wine fridge. Having the annex downstairs with the most amazing views was wonderful, we were even able to let our older children play down on the sand while we cooked. We saw dolphins one morning! Just a short 10min walk into Porthleven for food, groceries, water sports ands others. I would definitely recommend.

  • "Excellent stay, cottage delightful a place that kept giving."

    There was a regular sewage smell that we didn’t report until we had a problem with the key bin not working and rang Sykes day before leaving and raised the issue. It didn’t detract from our stay but may be a problem to someone else.

  • "A superb week spent in a luxury cottage."

    We couldn’t have asked for a more idyllic place to spend Christmas and so close to the sea. It was wonderful watching the gannets and sea birds whilst sitting in the lounge. We thoroughly recommend this cottage and will definitely return using Sykes booking system, which provided us with excellent communication and support throughout.

Loe Cottage is a stunningly-presented property located in the beautiful harbour town of Porthleven in Cornwall.

Inside this pet-friendly reverse-level holiday cottage, you'll find two beautifully-decorated bedrooms to catch your rest in, both of which have an en-suite shower room, along with the stunning Net Loft Annexe across the road on the seaward side.

Wake up to the breathtaking cliff-top scenery and enjoy panoramic views of the beautiful turquoise sea from The Net Loft.

Gaze at the majestic night sky through the telescope in the evening, before preparing a hearty meal in the fully equipped kitchen.

Make use of the contemporary shower room and outside shower to refresh after a day of adventures, and upstairs you'll find a bright and airy open-plan living space.

After a good night's rest, venture out to explore the local town of Porthleven; take a stroll along the stunning harbour and enjoy views of the crystal-blue marina as you make your way to the Harbour Inn pub for a delicious meal.

Stop by Ann's Pasties & Bar to pick up some famous Cornish pasties, then head back home to put on your swimming costume and walk over to Porthleven Beach for a relaxing day out.

A short drive will take you to the town of Helston where you'll have a picnic at Coronation Park and watch the swans float across the lake, visit the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, a rescue centre with a collection of otters, penguins, ponies and goats, and if you're travelling with children why not have a family day out at Flambards Theme Park?

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden, coastal gems, located near Helston, famous for it's annual Flora Dance Festival. Situated between Lizard Point and Land’s End, Porthleven retains the feel of a traditional Cornish fishing village, enjoying uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Cornish coastline. The iconic clock tower sits on the harbour entrance and the pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants cluster around the historic picturesque inner harbour, where there is plenty of boating and marine activity. With a warren of streets lined with classic Cornish, granite cottages, an extensive beach manned with lifeguards, the chance for alfresco dining in one of a number of well reviewed restaurants, and crabbing off the harbour, there are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, all year round. Porthleven is building a reputation for eating out with a popular food festival established in the spring. Out of season, Porthleven has one of the best surf breaks in the country where you can sit down and get lost for hours watching the energetic surfers riding the waves. There are some fabulous hidden coves along this stretch of coastline, including Praa Sands, Poldhu Cove, and Rinsey, a magical setting for the more energetic. You may have even seen pictures of Porthleven on television, being one of the best spots in the UK for storm watching, with the crashing winter waves often being used as the backdrop to weather forecasts. Walkers will enjoy the South West Coast Path, adventuring west past Rinsey Head with spectacular views, or south across Loe Bar to Penrose Estate with it's National Trust cafe, and on to Gunwalloe Church Cove. Take a trip to the Isles of Scilly by boat or plane and marvel at the display of sub-tropical gardens at the stunning Tresco Abbey. The Eden Project near St. Austell offers an interesting day out. Porthleven is the ideal base for discovering the delights of west Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula.
