We had a wonderful stay at The Forge.

The accommodation was very comfortable and very nicely kitted out. We would definitely recommend staying here!

A spacious, tastefully furnished property in a quiet location on the edge of an attractive village.

Easy access to explore the area being less than two miles from the main road. The underfloor heating kept it warm though the bathroom and bedroom are on the same thermostat so keeping the bathroom warm and dry meant the bedroom got a bit too warm for us. However we were on the turn from warm to colder weather so may not be an issue at other times of the year. A towel rail in the bathroom would have been useful. These small issues did not detract from it being a comfortable, well positioned property for exploring a lovely area.

On arrival at the Forge, looked well presented.

Check in is after 4pm, we arrived at 4.10pm, the cleaners were still there and said they would be finished by 4.30pm, which when we've travelled for 3.5 hours, we expected to be able to go straight into the cottage, especially since we had a young dog with us. A couple of light switches didn't turn any lights on, the extractor fan in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned for a while. The mattress wasn't overly comfortable, it could've done with a memory foam or gel topper as you could feel some of the springs, but wasn't a major issue. Otherwise we had no issues, was a cosy, comfortable place to stay for a week
